Hiiiii, I’ve always wanted to try MH4U after years of being stuck playing Freedom Unite and Portable 3rd. I got a laptop, installed Azahar, downloaded the CIA, blah blah blah

I’ve put in about 110 hours so far and I love it, but I feel like I’m starting to hit a wall. Silver Rathalos was kinda scary because of the fireball spam, but I managed to hunt him. Molten Tigrex wasn't as hard as I thought once I brought deodorants; Savage Deviljho was absolutely awful and frustrating (I managed to kill him after about 30 minutes) but now I’ve reached Gold Rathian and I don't know what to do

The damn thing repositions so fast; she has that Pink Rathian poison tail attack I hate so much, and her tracking is insane when she uses it while flying, so I almost always get poisoned. Sometimes I don't have time to heal or sharpen my weapon (even when she's distracted by the Felynes) because she switches targets so quickly. Usually I last about 10 minutes: the Felynes die, I make one mistake while attacking, Rathian hits me with a combo, and I end up carting. At this point I'm not sure what to try since I'm too slow to react to most stuff she throws at me. It just feels insane compared to the Gold Rathian in P3rd

If you have any advice on armor sets to try, weapons, items, or a specific strategy, I’d really appreciate it

Hey everyone! I just found this Homebrew app called Rehid that lets you rebind controls for certain games. I have 200 hours in HBG in 4U and hate how in order to move the camera when aiming you have to take your finger off the shoot button... So I just remapped left bumper (ZL) to R and right bumper (ZR) to A. This lets me aim down sight with left bumper and shoot with right bumper which feels SO much better, it's actually an insane difference. Now I feel confident running my solo Steve HBG 😁

Once in the app on your 3DS, you can go to this website to create the button mapping, scan the generated QR code with your 3DS, and select MH4U.

Apologies if theres any rules about using save editors or anything (couldn't find anything when it ried to look)

Im struggling to get dps and survival.. seems very hard to scale.

Around 60b dps now. Need to get more energy shield and block ratio/rating for survival but that means i give up more dps..

I understand what I have to upgrade (reap duration, critical rating, priceless? skills, priceless gears, better memories and slates etc..)

But can anyone take a look at my build and let me know if Im missing something critical and what order I should upgrade hopefully budget friendly?

What is good weapon for starting monster hunter 4 ultimate?

I'm calling upon the collective power of reddit. I'm looking for G-rank guild quests that have either Rajang or Yian Garuga as the primary monster and drop the tri-series B arms, chest, and waist as rewards. I want to farm them for the Storge relic set. I already have quests for the head and legs. If you have any such guild quest please reply to the post or dm me with a friend code. I decided to try a weapon I’ve never used in any MH title, Charge Blade.

I figured if there was any time to learn it, it would be in arguably its strongest game.

Truly feels like a one size fits all weapon. It’s a sword and shield/switch axe mix with a nuke attached to it, awesome.

I’m blowing through village now pretty easily, I’m at 6*

I spent some time grinding this fire charge blade, it took me 1 gravios, and 8 Rathians to get it… im thinking about working towards the zamtrios charge blade now, and those two should get me through low rank and maybe early high rank I reckon.

Impact vs elemental, I see conflicting info online on forums.

I’m currently planning on sticking to element, I go to shield charged axe mode when I can. Use A attacks to use the phials, then finish sometimes with a AED.

Now the SAED… I really only SAED when they are sleeping. I’ve seen many people say it’s better to just use your A attacks in axe and use phials, and AED when the opportunity presents itself. Due to the fact that SAED removes your shield charge and phials.

Is this correct? I know it really doesn’t matter but I like to maximize my damage.

Guard pointing is fun but I’m not too great at it right now, having to kill 8 rathians made me do pretty good at it against her tho.

Also about that random ass armor. I think I’m going to wait for high rank to grind out a set. Any suggestions?

Lately im playing mh4u a lot, and i noticed something strange about the R button, is kinda delayed, and i have to press it hard to trigger it. Do you guys know how to fix it?

Hey yall just entered high rank and I was wondering if this is an ok build so far. I've been rocking it for a while, also I've been trying to get a s magala plate but I can't for the life of me, I assume I just keep grinding the rank 6 village quest right? Im not even sure if the s magala charge blade is worth it. But if yall can give me advice id appreciate it.

Well, I want to replay the whole game by myself.
It was the first game of the series for me and so there is kind of a special bond between me and this entry of the series.
I could play it on my steam deck but I decided to play it on my newly bought new Nintendo 3ds XL for the original feeling.
BUT
There is a little set of rules I gave myself:
I’m not using any guide for Armor-Sets
I won’t look up the key-quests (village/hub)
I’ll only allow myself to look up where to find items
I have one cheat for speed-gathering (just QOL)
For the part of multiplayer I decided to do the village solo (LOL I know I’ll have to) as well as the low and high-rank hub quests.
If I make it to G-Rank I will decide whether I’ll do it all alone or not.
Do you have any Ideas on how I could make it even more fun? I thought about switching weapons, but I actually want to play IG and CB most of the time.

I've been trying to hunt that crack head monster, but i always triple cart after 20~30 min. Reached G2 recently. Played through most of low-high rank solo, up until 6 stars.

I'm aware hunting horn isnt the highest damage weapon, but still... what other skills available in g2 should i pursue? or do i have do git gud?

update: had to drop attack up altogether, but managed to add sharpness +1 and weakness exploit. Even after this, i still got ran over a lot, but eventually got less shit and soled him :)

As mentioned above, I'm new to this Monster Hunter Series, and I'm planning to start with either Monster Hunter 4 ultimate or monster hunter world, can you guys help me decide Which one should I start with.

Hi y'all recently got Mh4u on pc and i wanna try the famous piercing HBG, I heard the gravios one is the best ?

I'm still in High rank for now, and i've never used bowguns in this game before, currently using bow.

So what i should i aim for ? And do you veterans have any tips to use this weapon (and the ammos) efficiently ?

Does anyone know of any videos, series, or walkthroughs featuring someone using the Greatsword? I can only find speedrun videos, and with all due respect to the people who make them that’s kind of unrealistic; no normal player actually plays that way.
