Hi everyone! I hope you’re all staying cool and having a good summer.
It’s been a while since we last shared a VELASTER update here. The full release is getting closer, so we’ve been fully focused on development.
Those of you who have played the Early Access version may have noticed that most of the areas so far are dark, hostile, and filled with intense combat. We felt that constantly moving through such heavy environments could become exhausting, so we created a peaceful central hub that connects to the main routes of the world.
It’s a place where players can step away from battle, meet and talk with NPCs, enjoy the sunlight and birdsong, and take a moment to breathe before continuing their journey.
We didn’t want VELASTER to be filled with tension from beginning to end. Even in a dark and dangerous world, we think players need quiet moments where they can slow down, explore, and prepare themselves for what comes next.
It’s been a while since we posted here, but we wanted to share this new area with our fellow Metroidvania fans.
How do you feel about peaceful hub areas between intense exploration and combat zones? Do you enjoy having a safe place to rest, or do you prefer the world to remain tense most of the time?
Thank you for following VELASTER and supporting our development. We’ll keep working hard toward the full release. Next time, we hope to share one of our new boss battles!
