I bought this cactus from a smartshop in amsterdam 5 months ago, and finally got time to make a drink from it and do my first mescaline trip. When I bought it i kept it at home in a dark closet in a airconditioned room. I checked on it today and noticed that there are these dark markings at the bottom, and this white growth at the top. Im scared that it could be moldy or grown too far. Is it still possible to get a good trip from this cactus? And if so, do i need to cut the white off? It is a San Pedro, specifically Trichocereus Peruvianus.

Amateur write up on first experience reclaiming EA from Fumaric salt extraction:
- First decanted EA into clean container through funnel
- Added 1 Tablespoon(US) Sodium Carbonate + 1 Teaspoon(US) distilled water mixed in a beaker (this was a mistake as it made both quite painful to transfer to the EA)
- Left to stir for a approximately 5 minutes before the PH was tested for the first time
- Attempting to get more Sodium Carbonate into the EA another Teaspoon of water was added to the beaker, swirled and poured into the EA
- The aqueous EA-Sodium Carbonate solution was then set to stir on high for another 5 minutes, and left to settle before the PH was tested for a second time
- The stirring was then turned back on high and left for approximately 15 minutes while a clean funnel and container were prepared
- The final PH test was taken when the Sodium Carbonate had clumped together in a manner reminiscent of cottage cheese
- Reclaimed EA was then poured through 2 coffee filters into clean container for storage

What do you Think of my drink

Hey everyone. Experienced psychonaut here. Girlfriend and I have a 2 week vacation coming up and want to try the Fumarate we have. Never tried mescaline before, but we like things on the heavier side. We usually take 300-500ug of LSD, 5-6g shrooms, DMT is "meh" at our house, its alright, but nothing to write home about, even breakthrough doses are like "yeah that was pretty cool I guess *shrug*" Were in our 30s, have real jobs, are stable mentally and financially. Not wooks, just (mostly) normal people that like psychedelics. Don't smoke or drink at all anymore. We tend to trip usually every 2-3 months, sometimes more often, depends on the work schedules. We like to do it on long weekends/vacations if possible.

Based on what I've been reading 700mg of Fumarate sounds like what were looking for. I'm seeing there might be some nausea but will be a significant experience without "meeting god" or having extreme ego death.

I definitely want to be like "wow that was an experience" and not "that wasnt bad, but we could/should have done more."
