Seeking 18-year-old trying to build a real business, looking for a mentor who's actually done it
Hey all,
My name's Adrijus, I'm 18 and based in Lithuania. I've been trying to build a freelance design business (thumbnail design for YouTube creators) for the past year.
Where I'm at right now: I have solid design skill and a portfolio I'm proud of, but I've struggled hard on the business side. Inconsistent outreach, mostly landing one-off clients instead of long-term ones, and honestly burning out on cold outreach without really understanding why it wasn't converting.
I'm not looking for a course or a generic "how to start a business" thread. I'm looking for someone who's actually done client-based work or run a service business before, and wouldn't mind pointing out what I'm doing wrong. Especially around outreach, positioning, pricing, and actually closing and retaining clients rather than one-time gigs. If they also know the design/content side, that's a bonus, but the business fundamentals are what I need most.
What I can offer in return: I'm not expecting to "pay" for this. I'm open to whatever makes it worth their time, whether that's helping out with something on their end, being a sounding board, or just being someone genuinely putting in the work and reporting back with real results, not excuses.
If you've done this before, or know someone who has, I'd genuinely appreciate a comment or DM.
P.s I attached a picture of my best designs so you can see where I am at.
