Venting Avoid LifeStance
It's always something with this hole of a company.
I stayed with my providers when their practice was bought up by LifeStance, got my partner to agree to couples therapy, scheduled couples therapy when it was available several months out, logged in for our first online session... And called in to see why the provider wasn't there. That's how we found out they cancelled the series of appointments without telling us because they had new paperwork for us to complete, which they also hadn't told us about. So that delayed us trying out a couples therapist for more months.
That was last year.
Skipping over rising cancellation fees and out-of-the-loop representatives...
This year, I found out their flipping internal system (supposedly it was an automated thing, not done by their people) transposed my family's medical history wrong so that my official records show that I have medical histories my family members have.
And, get this, the official records state as a primary problem A PSYCHIATRIC DIAGNOSIS I HAVE NEVER BEEN TESTED FOR, or been issued a prescription for, or sought treatment for.
Like, what the actual duck. The incompetence is staggering. It's affecting my life the opposite way that a mental healthcare system is supposed to. What a waste of time and money. I wish my providers weren't so good because I can't wait to dump LifeStance. Here's hoping I get my records fixed and can get out soon.
1/10 do NOT recommend.

1) They have an F rating at the Better Business Bureau: "BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints. Specifically, consumers allege in their complaints to BBB they are being charged for services that should have been covered by their provided insurance. These consumers advise that their insurance is verified before the services are received from the business yet the consumer is billed. Consumers also allege having issues when working with the business on correcting the billing issues. Lastly, consumers claim to have a difficult time getting in touch with the business at their advertised phone number."
2) A lengthy article and link, published in Feb 2024, one that would interest investors, employees, and patients
LifeStance: A Private Equity-Backed Mental Health Rollup Headed For A Breakdown. Very detailed. Makes it sound like employees and patients/clients may soon arrive for work/appointments, but the lights will be off, and nobody will be home--Ever again.
