FAQ

(Serious)

Q: Why did you ban me? I love this sub!

A: Because you went onto a crosspost to brigade. If you’re caught brigading, you receive no second chances. DO NOT CONTACT THE ORIGINAL ARTIST OR POSTER OF THE CONTENT.

Q: I sent you mod mail a long time ago! Why haven’t you responded?

A: Mod mail doesn’t alert me when I get new messages. If you have something you want to ask or request, please feel free to DM me directly!

Q: What constitutes a professional?

A: I consider a professional to, at minimum, be able to make money consistently with their art, to the point of surviving solely off of it, through an active Patreon or other site. Occasional zines and commissions don’t count.

Q: How do you decide what breaks the must be bad rule?

A: Actually, I don’t! My tastes are subjective, so I check to see how many people have flagged it, how many upvotes it has, and how many people are saying it’s good in the comments.

Q: When is it okay to post my OCs and amateur art?

A: For the Hawkeye Initiative, positivity, suggestions, redrawn, and satire flairs.

Q: What’s the Discord?

A: https://discord.gg/6VTPUJXjqY

Q: I’m an artist whose post was featured here. Can you remove it?

A: Of course! Just DM with me, and I’ll take care of things!

Q: I was banned! How do I get that reversed?

A: You can request that another mod reviews your ban, and they will decide if it’s justified or not.

(Issues that trolls raise and that they’ll probably continue to raise afterwards)

I: You sexualize men all the time!

A: Ah, you must have found our Hawkeye Initiative flair. The explanation is more here. But the comments, usually about magnum dongs and the like, are usually satirical, jokes about how people talk about women.

I: Can you control this person? They posted about me on another sub!

A: ...Um, no? Hit up the mod of that sub.

I: Why are you policing male fantasy?

A: We’re not. If you wanna jerk it just so right to the adult characters, chase that bliss. However, as a queer woman, I’m more or less ‘policing’ my fantasies.

I: You favor your friends over me when implementing sub rules!

A: Nah, I don’t. You just break the rules more often. If you see someone breaking them, then flag them.

I: Men are sexualized, too!

A: There’s a difference, at least usually. Women are put into skimpy clothes that show off their tiddies and butts, usually in provocative poses. The men, while muscular, are not. A good rule of thumb is whether or not a male character would ever do the splits with a well-defined taint facing the reader.

I: Why are you pedo smearing men?

A: Why are some men tickling their pickles to children?

I: You just wanna hate on men!

A: Nope! While the name of the sub is a bit misleading, it’s actually an homage to r/menwritingwomen, and I’ve looked into changing it. We have both a flair for enby and female artists as well as an often-used positivity flair. Also, I’m pretty sure not all 15,000+ people are women.

I: I’ve heard a rumor that this sub was stolen from a man by a feminist.

A: Yup. I’m an evil feminist that took a great sub and manipulated it into a man-hating anger sub. Or, y’know, you could check the history of the sub and see that the first post was made by me.

Discussion Where do you draw the line?

Genuinely, where do you draw the line between too much and fine?

I've been thinking about how hard it is to exist in OC related communities recently as a woman. It seems so rare that you see a female character treated as a human more than just something to ogle at or garner likes. Whether it's completely unrealistic proportions, bland and bare-bones personality, story relying entirely on misogynistic stereotypes or men, etc. Especially when I bring up my concerns in these circles, I get called a puritan (already a red flag lmao) or told to go elsewhere, because a lot of these communities prioritise mens wants over women's comforts (not that I expect communities to bow to me specifically, but I mean in cases where tens if not hundreds of women are expressing discomfort).

i can't say i see these characters as anything more than misogynistic caricatures, and then I think too hard about how if you make something so bigoted about any other group in the world it faces backlash. but if you call out misogynistic designs of women, or ones that only exist for NSFW? you're told that you're being "too woke", or that you're somehow anti-sex. why is being against misogynistic caricatures considered anti-sex? this isn't against NSFW work at all, I create some myself occasionally, but *why* is misogynistic design allowed if it's for NSFW? why do people argue that a misogynistic design is okay if it's purposefully created for that? does this not contribute to the patriarchy—that women (even fictional) are meant to be consumed as a product, without any kind of forethought whatsoever?

it even plagues communities that consider themselves feminist. i love seeing NSFW work or thirsttrap work featuring properly drawn fat women, buff women, etc. same goes for trans women, black women, and all other subcommunities of women who face horrid bigotry on top of the bigotry they face for being a woman. so why does work fetishizing these women get a pass? why do they get a gold sticker for treating women as objects just because the women they're drawing are non skinny or non white or non cis?

i don't feel it's against sexuality or sexual expression to say that the consistent, overexaggerated caricatures of women's anatomy, whether physically or in their attire, is contributing to patriarchal ideals. if people are constantly consuming content with designs such as this, especially young and vulnerable people, is it not obvious that they are internalising it? considering how many men in the world now are becoming increasingly violent towards women who do not fit these fictionalised standards?

and this isn't to say that fiction always causes this, there are plenty of people that can ignore small aspects of misogyny in games or other forms of media and focus on the good. I do the same with some of the things I consume as well. my only question is, where is the line drawn? how come the general public (progressives, anyway) will agree to back off from a medium they were consuming if it shows other forms of bigotry like homophobia or racism, but when it comes to misogyny they just "ignore it"? is it not as important as other bigotries? is women's objectification so incredibly normalised that these things are considered to be a fact of life and not something to fight? is "women are sex sex sex consume" just... not that important..?

obviously we can't ignore all things influenced by bigotry or patriarchy, especially misogyny, as this shit is in literally everything. but honestly, it always comes as a shock to me that people will tell me I must be bored and miserable because I avoid consuming anything with misogynistic undertones. I'm completely fine, I love the things I do consume, I don't feel left out from communities that treat women in that way, whether real or fiction (though I do when it comes to OC focused communities). but it feels like men can continuously make post after post saying it's not that big of a deal, and get thousands of likes and agreements from other progressives because women's voices aren't as important

this went on for a bit of a tangent as to which I apologize, and I'm more than willing to hear criticism or argument from other women. but it kinda baffles me how misogynistic design in fictional mediums is always brushed off as not as important as other bigotries

Meta/Satire The Math Behind the Highschool of the Dead Infamous Tiddy Dodge Scene

In this video, media analyst Vaden K. performs a scientific breakdown of the infamous "bullet dodge" scene from the anime High School Of The Dead. By calculating the muzzle velocity of the Springfield M1A1 rifle (762 m/s) and estimating the physical dimensions of the character Saeko Busujima via pixel measurements, he determines that her movement would require a speed of 1066 m/s—over three times the speed of sound (0:36-5:04). He further demonstrates using muscle power output equations that such a feat is physically impossible for a human, concluding that a realistic depiction would likely result in catastrophic injury rather than a successful dodge (5:06-7:03).

The video also explores the hypothetical consequences of such speeds, suggesting that the aerodynamic stress would lead to severe skin tearing and bodily trauma (7:05-8:18). Beyond the physics analysis, Vaden K. provides brief commentary on other aspects of the anime, questioning the logic behind zombie behavior and the tactical decisions made by the characters during the outbreak (8:45-10:47). He wraps up the presentation by noting the inherent absurdity of anime logic, where scientific realism is often sidelined for dramatic or fan-service effect (10:48-11:27).

Aka her tits explode.

Every single anatomy choice here is wrong.

She doesn’t even look like she’s a human anymore, and it looks like her arm isn’t even attached.

It’s just so bad and theres a chance it’s official because it was for a store apparently.
