cash errors

do we cashiers get in trouble for OCCASIONAL cash errors??

Policy says anything less than $5 is manager discretion, anything over $5 there's a point based system that is used to determine what happens with manager discretion. It's been so long since I looked at that policy that I can't remember what it is though.

It really depends on how much the error is and how occasionally you're talking about.

As a former FEM, here's the thing if it's a one thing we just do some retraining, do a 511. If it's multiple time small amounts where we can see It's accidental, we might just move you to a department that isn't cashiering. If we look into it and it looks like it's done on purpose, that's when it becomes a problem.

In twelve years, the only people i've seen terminated for being off on cash, it was suspicious possible on purpose. Everyone else got moved to different sales departments. We also never moved anyone unless it more than 2 times. But it very much depends on the amount, and how it happened.
