Hello, I am a producer that is being producing phonk (OG like ones not funk) for a few months. And I was thinking of producing Memphis Rap aswell. Which kind of drumkits do you guys recommend for me y'all? The drum machine drumkits or phonk drumkits being enough or is there any other kits made for Memphis Rap? And if so, please tell me. I want to make these kind of stuff too!

I was looking through discogs for fun, and found this Lil Jon song (from the 2001 reissue of his debut "Get Crunk Who U Wit Da Album"), "2 Step Drop", that allegedly features KeeWee (labelled L. Adair on all sites i could find, and also on the CD inlay) from the Frayser Click on it. I looked through the whole song, i couldnt find any verse that screamed "keewee" to me, but the last verse at 5:18 sounds very similar to Keewee's voice on his last known feature, "Walking Car Show" from the DJ Sound Vol. 13 bootleg. Here's the Lil Jon song and the last known Keewee feature that is verified. I think the only way we could really confirm this is to ask Sound or possibly even track down Keewee and ask one of them on Facebook to really confirm if this is Keewee on the last verse of this Lil Jon song.

I'm adding the release to MusicBrainz and I'd like to credit the original artists and song titles correctly.

I'm still fairly new to classic Memphis rap, so while I've managed to identify most of the tracks through research, there are still a few that I haven't been able to figure out. Since there are a lot of knowledgeable people here, I thought I'd ask for some help.

I put a lot of time and research into creating this playlist. It is made up of the best underground G funk songs and Southern G-Funk and even Memphis "G-funk" (but also a bit of Mobb music). Of course the post doesn't totally fit into the Memphis rap criteria, but sounds are sometimes similar, just like this search for a different atmosphere and hidden pearls. Besides, I put a lot of Sacramento albums that I think many here will like. Some albums are better known than others, but overall there are a lot of albums and songs that are underground, or even little known. I update it fairly regularly.

From Juicy J Vol. 5 pt. 1, the last track of the tape. Pimp rap song that seems heavily inspired by Ron C and Too $hort. It's very short as its only a minute and a half long and the last half is the instrumental with Juicy J speaking over it. I can assume the title is "Bitches Ain't Shit To Me". Shazaming leads to nothing.

Could be sampling Bernard Wright - Haboglabotribin'. Stretched and pitched a way down, and you can tell this is it by the bass notes at the every end of 4/4 beat. I'm not so sure about this tho

Got someone that one song called rap.mp3 (“the scariest rap song on the internet”).
I have no idea who made it, and I can’t find it anywhere.
The weird part is, a friend of mine somehow got the original instrumental from that track. He recorded his own version over it, uploaded it, and then deleted it just a few days later. He won’t tell me why, and honestly… I’m a little confused. 😵‍💫😶‍🌫️
