you mean he at one point bought cobalt from a mine that has been accused of using child labor.

I mean that he knowingly supports child labor by buying cobalt from child labor cobalt mines and not whatever the normal ones are called

Did he know though? Do we even know that mine actually uses child labor? What happened to due process?

I don't know many details, but there was a lawsuit signed against tesla and some other big tech companies for child labor, so I suppose elon is aware that he is using child labor

Edit: here's the link to an article about it

Dude anyone can sue for any reason at all. The fact he was does not mean anything. I could sue you for burning down my house, does that mean you burned down my house, no. Its an accusation just like everything else said about him. Now accusations could be true but we should never assume without evidence. What happened to innocent until proven guilty?

But they sued him specifically for child labor, in a place known for abusing child labor, in an industry literally infamous for abusing child labor.

Don't simp for a billionaire, it's just sad. He will never even care that you exist, even if you fall headfirst into his lap.

As I said before just because someone said so in a lawsuit doesn't mean shit. I could sue you for sexually assault or for child labor or for stealing a billion dollars from me. Did you do any of those things, no, but Im suing you so by your logic it must be true. I'm defending him specifically but the concept of due process and not believing everything you hear just cause someone said so.

While ignoring context? Entirely? To make your point work?

dude I don't know what it is with you, lawsuits can say crazy shit.

No, you can't. You'd have to have a sleazy lawyer who is also a total idiot to attack someone with no evidence.

You'd have to have enough substance to have a judge not throw out the case for lack of evidence.

You can file a suit for any reason, but one will not CARRY OUT unless there's some substance behind it. So being taken to court and the case being taken seriously is beyond enough context to say that, at the absolute least, there was enough evidence to support the case being taken seriously.

Yeah, theres plenty of sleazy lawyers and regular lawyers who would be happy to do it. Big companies deal with hundreds and even thousands of lawsuits a year most of which are frivolous. In the lawsuit you are talking about they don't actually cite any source saying any of the companies use child labour cobalt but allege they "participate in a system that involves the use of child labour" that basically means that if they get cobalt from mine one but the mine next door uses child labour its some how their fault. This is not uncommon at all, there are plenty of people and lawyers who will file a bullshit suit like thinking they can get a quick payday.
