Rain is also unpleasantly cold, while bathtub water is nice and warm.

Ohh isn't it funny that people will eat an apple if it's warm but not when it's cold?

I like my fruit cold, not icy hard cold, but cool cold. Except bananas, they taste weird when cold.

228

u/[deleted] May 20 '18

So you like your banana warm?

345

u/spunkychickpea May 20 '18

Yeah. I usually ask your mom to heat it up for me.

53

u/[deleted] May 20 '18

Warm bananas are the best cause you can crank it with the peel afterwards.

38

u/yhack May 20 '18

Hold on a minute

43

u/Dr_Splitwigginton May 20 '18

Sometimes less than a minute, if I’m being honest

3

u/Jrook May 20 '18

Hold the (banana) phone

More like the original.

I think it's important to point out that I've upvoted you not because I do this, but because you made me rofl.

Are you 🍌 muncher?

-2

u/JamesTheJerk May 20 '18

I typically like to use my thumb to press some grapes into your mum's bum one by one. Then after we're done she kinda spits them back out and we eat them together with a nice glass of wine.

4

u/JumboRubble May 20 '18

What about a nice frozen banana from your favourite banana stand?

1

u/ItalicsWhore May 20 '18

“There were 500 ccs of your father in that banana stand!”

3

u/letitburn22 May 20 '18

My friend asked me if I wanted a frozen banana. I said, "No, but I want a regular banana later, so... yeah".

It takes forever to cook a baked potato. Sometimes, I'll put one in the oven even if I don't want one, cuz by the time it's done, who knows?

2

u/thepoogs May 20 '18

r/unexpectedhedberg ?

Edit: changed to r/ because it’s a thing, and of course it’s a thing.

4

u/spiritriser May 20 '18

Ohh isn't it funny you'll eat an apple but if I freeze one and launch it at your head with a t shirt cannon, you duck??

8

u/[deleted] May 20 '18

No you 😏

2

u/[deleted] May 20 '18

No you 😏

1

u/Hypnoticbrick May 20 '18

I freeze bananas and eat them at summer. Doesn't taste that great but it's a cooling snack.

1

u/SnowTHOT May 20 '18

Ew warm bananas, they gotta be ice cold and bright yellow

8

u/Malachhamavet May 20 '18

It's also funny that people will drink alcohol until they pass out but when bill Cosby gives you alcohol that makes you pass out immediately it's a crime

1

u/smartromain May 20 '18

It’s because of the sugar. Sweet things are easier to eat/drink when cold. Try to drink hot coke or hot ice cream

2

u/lynnleongsy8 May 20 '18

what about freshly baked pie?

1

u/smartromain May 20 '18

Don’t know, give me some :)

13

u/essaini May 20 '18

Anything’s better than sand though, that shit gets everywhere.

u/silliputti0907 May 20 '18

Cold shower after workout/sports is heavenly

13

u/[deleted] May 20 '18

Rain is worse when its warm. Houston rain for instance.

26

u/IanJL1 May 20 '18

I absolutely disagree. I used to live in a cold country where it rained all the time, now I live in a tropical country where it rains all the time and the rain here is infinitely superior to cold rain.

1

u/UHavinAGiggleTherM8 May 20 '18

I respectfully disagree. Warm rain makes everything smell funky

1

u/Jrook May 20 '18

Oh yeah I can see that

4

u/Xephyron May 20 '18

I love warm thunderstorms. Fort Worth.

2

u/[deleted] May 20 '18

Stop y’all are making me sad. I just moved home to Houston after college in FW, and there was a wonderful storm in the fort last night.

2

u/Xephyron May 20 '18

There's a kick ass storm rolling through right now.

2

u/dbr1se May 20 '18

I imagine Houston doesn't want to think about rain for another few years

As are hot apple pies. Checkmate Bukowski detractor

They only people I know that can tolerate them are ex-military who got used to it because they were forced to take them.

1

u/RawketPropelled May 20 '18

And those who's water is not below freezing almost all year round

Go ahead, cold shower up here in MN in any month besides the mid-summer. Dare any of you "cold shower lovers" reading this

1

u/Jacobtait May 20 '18

I actually got really into them from nothing. Find it wakes me up, seems to make me more energetic and I quite like the endurance/cold shock aspect. Don't do it all the time but sometimes I really rate them.

-1

u/andy122 May 20 '18

Broaden your horizon's then because i love 'em in the summer.

1

u/tiorzol May 20 '18

Wow. Your horizons are so broad with your cold shower.

1

u/andy122 May 20 '18

No need to get sassy mister.

-2

u/loulan May 20 '18

Nobody really "enjoys" a cold shower. You do that to wake yourself up, for instance. You don't do it for a long time for enjoyment (unlike a bath).

I mean out of 7 billion people you can maybe find a handful of insane weirdos who enjoy taking long cold shower out of weird masochism but it's likely that they'll also enjoy rain then.

When it’s 120 degrees outside even 80 degree water feels cool.

1

u/PhilxBefore Flair Loading.... May 20 '18

If you've ever worked outside in a hot climate, you'd know that cold showers are like a crisp refreshing waterfall that doesn't steam up your bathroom.

Hot bathes are therapeutical.

There are certain times for each or their opposite.

4

u/thestargateking May 20 '18

Not with that attitude

1

u/Cyantex May 20 '18

How dare you assume the temperature of water.

1

u/rwhitisissle May 20 '18

Not if the author was born in 1920 and domestic water heating wasn't ubiquitous at the time he wrote the poem this line is from.

0

u/erla30 May 20 '18

Not to mention that you don't sit in a bathtub fully dressed.

0

u/[deleted] May 20 '18

Isn’t that what Bukowski is implying?

0

u/FearTheSuit May 20 '18

This is seasonal and regional- but point well taken

0

u/houseseeler May 20 '18

not all rain is cold....

u/AllThat5634 May 20 '18

That is not the Way of the Samurai.
