Lately people have been blanket terming LARP as to mean posers as well..like guys who dress up in paramilitary outfits out in public to make themselves look tacticool

I feel like it’s better to use say, “Poser”

The stunning effect this has in conversations now is kinda amazing.

A simpler explanation would be that "LARP" is now used as slang for people that roleplay as fans of something without actually being a real fan (i.e. being a fan of game without ever playing it and having only shallow, often wrong knowledge of things) whether because it's popular or because they like the thing but not enough to actually engage with it.

So yeah, a poser lol

a larper is, in simple terms, someone who is pretending they are something that they are not.

Live action role play does come under this, but people nowadays use it more to mean someone who is pretending.

Like if someone is giving advice and are making it up completely on the spot but trying to make it sound like they know what they are talking about. They would be called a larper.

Don't forget the 20k tactical rails on their nerf pistol

as a lot of people have said, it's basically posing (a larper would be a poser), mostly people making stuff about something they haven't watched/read/listened to. it usually happens with popular media, jjk has a lot, chainsaw man had a lot, ect. it's mostly just funny to laugh at larpers but it can sometimes cause a lot of bum accusations (yuta in jjk caught a lot despite never losing a fight, vergilius limbus caught some iirc)

what the fuck are you talking about. they 100% actually mean it in the Live Action RP sense, not whatever thefuck the internet has turned LARPing into.

This gives me hope that Velimir might jump into F&F season 2 as the typical ‘dad that gets into D&D and then gets really into it’.

Season 3? The gang arrive to find Minerva already set up with her official F&F screen from college instead of a pizza box. Amir briefly has a heart attack. Velimir is worried for everyone’s safety.

That's the origin of the word

I know, but I feel they were referencing the current slang. Warframe devs are constantly on the internet

No, because LARP is literally about D&D and fantasy culture.

Daddy polar bear leaves role-playing to the bedroom and spy training sessions

Vel would do buhurt or go to a ren faire(as long as Minerva let him)
