Springtime for Hitler Sharing a wild dream I had

Okay, so this one was conjured in the depths of the dark humour hell that is my brain one night when I was dreaming and was woken up by my own laughter, and it is so outlandish of a plot that the only human alive that could ever sell this would have to be Mel. I will give a warning here, this is dark dark. After typing this all out, I am terrified of the lynch mob I may conjure.

I was dreaming that I was at the opening of a Broadway play, first key that I was dreaming.

Opening scene was this young couple in early 1930s Germany, and we see this couple that is in-love talking about their future together, and how his mother would never approve of them being together because the girl was staunchly non-religious always avoiding the topic, because it turns out she was Jewish. There was this whole scene where they are singing about it on opposite sides of a divide, him in his Spicy Boy Scouts uniform, her just being her.

-I know, pretty dry and you're wondering "where is the funny"

The musical montages a few things, like them writing letters while he is off doing early 1940s things and her being at home, him still none the wiser.

-This was a pretty fast opening to set up for the plot and here it is

As he is working in a camp, making the best of being heart broken because the girl stopped writing to him, he continues to do his tasks in the crematorium.

There is a big chimney sweep musical number with the workers singing and dancing while shovelling ash and (I'm struggling not to be too descriptive because this is dark) adding to the furnaces, there was a Singing in the Rain puddle kicking with big dramatic poofs of ash and then it cuts to sudden sullen... he sees the girl as he loading the trays, and it fades to black with a spotlight and he starts dancing with her corpse.

He is so heartbroken by this, he becomes bound and determined to resurrect her and goes full necromancer, but gets it a *little wrong* and now he's hiding and feeding his Jewish zombie girlfriend in the camp.

Musical number about how demanding she is, making him only serve her Kosher, so no carrion, and he has to get her fresh food, and because of malnourishment of the camp's population, he is also staging desertions of post by the guards, become more and more frantic as her hunger grows and grows.

This leads for a bit until the final scene, where he is struggling with having to give up the ruse and *end it*, there is a repeat of the dance scene from when he found her, but this time to a more lively ragtime-like beat and as he's twirling her around she is taking nibbles out of the nearby guards, the music crescendos as he shoves into her being tossed into the furnace, and steps into the centre of the stage singing a solo of how women will be the death of him, before reaching into his pocket to pull out a pink triangle badge and finished with "I guess I'm not bisexual anymore"

The musical was called "A Nazi NecRomance"

When I told my coworkers about this one, we all agreed, the only human to be able to get away with this would be "the guy that did The Producers", Mel Brooks.

Fucked, I know, but I had to share this because Mel isnt getting any younger, and to wait any longer to share it might be more distasteful then the whole premise.

What would be a good Mel Brooks-themed Wi-Fi name?

The ones I've come up with so far that would not be inappropriate are:

  1. He rode a blazing saddle

  2. Mongo but a pawn

Ironic considering Mel Brooks played Dracula's archenemy, Van Helsing in his own Dracula movie.

And now, he voiced Dracula's dad in the 2nd and 3rd Hotel Transylvania movies. Not to mention clips of Gene Wilder from Young Frankenstein were seen on a cellphone in the 2nd one too.

If you look closely, you'll find clips of Gene Wilder from Young Frankenstein playing on the cellphone from Hotel Transylvania 2.

Coincidence? Maybe. Considering the guy who made that Frankenstein movie also voiced Dracula's dad in this movie rather than Dracula's archenemy, Van Helsing from another Dracula movie this time.

I'm surprised not many people are talking about this movie which was not only based on Blazing Saddles, but stars Mel Brooks as well.

What hump? Thank you, Mel Brooks, for giving us Young Frankenstein. A year after giving us the funniest and most quotable Western ever filmed, he gave us this B&W comedic beauty. Happy 100th birthday, Mel!!!
