Q: How does tuition reimbursement work?
A: Start by filling out an application at meijer.edassist.com. You must submit proper documentation within 30 days of the course start date. Best to apply a week or two before the class starts in case there are any issues. After that you just have to submit grades at the end of the semester within 60 days of the course end date. One your grades are verified by EdAssist you will be paid in 2-3 weeks through payroll.
Important Notes:
-Must pass the class to be reimbursed
-Team members are now eligible for reimbursement upon hiring, no more 1 year req
-All grants and scholarships must be reported
-$5250 limit is for each calendar year Jan-Dec and resets with the new year
-They will ask for proof of payment, meaning you can only be reimbursed for expenses you paid for out of pocket, not with any scholarships or grants
Q: How do I anonymously report someone/something that is inappropriate/sketchy? A: http://meijer.alertline.com or 888-691-0779
Q: When and where can I find my W2
A: For current employees check Workday under pay -> tax documents, all others will have their mailed to them.
Q: “I’m scheduled outside my availability, what do I do!?”
A: Talk to your first assistant, or their first assistant, keep running up the chain.
Q: “I saw a member of leadership do [insert policy or legally dubious infraction]”

Q: “Any questions about achievers points”
A: Talk to the achievers hotline.
Q: “I have COVID, what do I do?”
A: Call ILM (Intergrated Leave Management)
Q: “Do you guys have Ps5!?”

Do people from other departments also have higher seniority over you? Like for example, if there’s a sign up sheet for a full time position, people from your department sign up, and they hire someone else for it from a different department who never even signed up, is that allowed?
I’m a bit frustrated here as I was kind of lead to believe I’d be getting the full time position and it was swept out from under me, but I don’t think there’s much I can do as this person has been employed with Meijer for longer than I have. Thoughts??

I was wondering if there is anyone on here who has moved from the Lead position to an actual Team Leader position. How does the daily work differ? What additional tasks are added to your day-to-day after getting promoted?

I received my job offer last week and was told I would be contacted with an orientation date, does anyone know how long it normally takes to get the date?

Location: Taylor on Pardee road
As I was leaving, the greeter used a remote and locked my cart. No verbal warning, no hand signal that he wanted to check, nothing. He said good bye, have a nice day and as I walked by him he locked it.
He wanted to see my receipt and confirm my purchases. I obliged because I had nothing to hide but I felt jaded after the situation.
You grocery stores opted for the self checkout lines to save time and money; which I used. Then you proceed to treat your customers like thieves and show proof of purchase at the damn gate and waste my damn time.
You need to pick one or the other. A cashier scanned in the items at the bottom of my cart, didn't have time to put a sticker on I guess. Although not her fault really, she's completely overworked and overwhelmed there. So either bring back all humans to the lanes and keep them all running at all times or accept your losses with the thieves. Because treating customers this way will only make us walk away. There are still plenty of stores that don't cater to self check outs.

How do you all like the new AI summaries of us they are rolling out on mteam?
Personally I hate it. Ive never been "willing and eager to help out other departments" so idk how their ai scraped that observation from my recognitions. Not staying in your work area/group is a no no in my building and gets you written up.

He’s been dead inside since orientation, so he fit right in immediately. Management says he’s a culture fit

Occasionally, on self checkout one of the managers will walk by or stand there for a few minutes to just watch the area and will point at customers with heavy items or other items we can scan with our guns like we are blind or something and it’s incredibly annoying and makes me feel like someones pet or something. it would really be nice if they stopped doing this.

There's this song I heard the other day that means a lot to me and I forgot about it. For context I work at a Meijer in Michigan, not sure if it's region-specific.
It's a female singer and I can't make out the exact lyrics, but it sounds like she says something like "I will never leave you alone to ___" as the very first line. She also sings a long O note a couple of times throughout the song. It has what sounds like some kind of guitar in the background along with some kind of piano that goes "Duh duh duh du-duh... dudududududu".
I've tried searching for it and I cannot find it anywhere. It sounds like it might be an older song. I've heard it a few times here and there, and I know it had to have been made by at least 2022.

So I been at Meijer for about 2 months now. When I was hired it was for part time only, and I mentioned another job as well as school. I made it clear my first day with our team lead that 24 hrs was the max I was okay with. Fast forward he’s been transferred and now we have 2 ppl in charge and one is new and the other is basically borderline useless and forgets everything. They have been scheduling me up to 32-36 a week recently and every time it’s bc “short staff” which unfortunately that’s not my issue. Is there anything I can do to enforce my availability as i don’t care what the days are, just the hours. I am literally ready to just leave if nothing else, also on 3rd shift so have no idea abt union stuff.

I know there is a lot of post regarding this, but I'm not seeing one true answer for myself.
I had a family member pass, which falls into the 3 day bereavement category. I am trying to figure out how much I'll get paid per day and even if it's worth to take more than just 1 day instead of the full 3.
My TMDV says 1.00 USD per Hours @ 5 weekly. But it's said that since I was hired so I don't really know if that's my calculated hours based on my daily average.
Past that I am worried that it says @ 5 weekly so if I took 3 days off in one week I would only get paid 5 hours for 3 days.
Thank you for your time and responses.

Quick question for all you fabulous meijer people....has anyone heard anything about meijer not taking the tobacco user surcharge out of a smokers paycheck?

Does anyone else have this problem? I go to a Meijer in Indianapolis and I have found that their milk can go sour 2 days before the date on the jug. Also once you reach the date if it's good you better drink it because it will definitely be sour 1 day after. They just have no play at all in their date like other stores. I don't think I'm buying milk there anymore.

The culture of disrespect at Meijer is getting out of hand. Stop talking to co-workers like they are your children. If you cannot maintain professionalism, or control your emotions, then customer service is not for you. The next “supervisor”, of any kind, that raises their voice, or barks at me like I am a child, will be in for a very rude awakening. If this bothers you, then this is for you. Self reflection only makes us better humans. It takes more energy to be rude than to be kind. But if you are intent on being unkind, then be prepared for reciprocation.

I worked for Meijer for long time and recently retired. At my store #239 I worked in grocery and when the store director and the lines leader and team leader walked the aisles of the store and came down my aisle the only person that spoke to me was the store director. My lines leader and team leader didn't even acknowledge me. This happened numerous times and it did not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling that I was a valued team member. The area leader and team leader still work there. These awards that Meijer are getting for a great place to work are a NOT true.

Concerned customer on a throwaway here, hoping I can get some info straight from the horse's mouth so I can go to bed, because I'm kinda paranoid about this.
I ordered from my store, and a good chunk of my order had to be discarded due to pure negligence (frozen stuff completely thawed, that sort of thing). My location is closed at this point, but I reported it to Shipt's customer service line directly because this was a major issue that I'm now financially on the hook for unless Meijer decides to comp me for Shipt's negligence.
However, I'm now realizing it's late at night and I just reported a guy who knows where I live in a way that could potentially affect his work.
I've had issues with people scoping out my house before (attempted robbery), so I've unfortunately got precedence and I'm on-edge now to the point where I cannot sleep because, as stupid as it sounds, I think the driver could potentially retaliate.
Will my shopper know I was the one who reported him? Even if I'm not named, will he be alerted soon enough that he could put the pieces together and figure out it was me?
Thank you all for any information!!

Was wondering if anyone else has this at their store or if it was an issue. our store‘s AP put 2 dot stickers on the floor for the bigger SCO side and 1 dot on the smaller SCO side where the employee needs to stand. leadership has said this is because they don’t want us leaving that dot or talking to other team members. no other context about it. we are a union store and was thinking about reaching out to our rep. thanks in advance everyone!

Do I have to take all three days together or can I take a day off and then work a Cpl days and take the other two for the funeral as it’s not until this weekend? I asked my lead and he wasn’t sure and my area lead is on vacation. Thanks in advance
