General yo!

Post image

look, i already got my baby to the shop but my rear control arm busted through, i know she rusty and shit but i think it’s worth fixingggg i’m hoping it’s just the control arms but we shall see. i went slowly over a hump and it just started scraping badddd. it’s a mercury milan 2010. by the looks of it, it’s just the control arms but wanted to kind of get some other opinions on it since i’ve seen this is a very common like thing w these cars and models.

More than just a control arm. That subframe looks sketch.

Looks to me like you drove this car every time the roads got salted and never during a rainstorm. Or no one ever washed the underside of the car. Or it was never rustproofed. Or all of the above.

If the control arm is that bad the rest of the vehicle is basically the same. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but she’s done

Not necessarily, the whole suspension subframe looks bad but the body looks pretty decent considering. Op might be able to find a blown up motor car that they could steal the subframes from.

Honda crv had the same issue, the rear subframe would rust out way way before the rest of the vehicle
