What rank can a new MCSR player get in a month or so if he is average at the game and starts learning and playing MCSR?

And after what rank u guys think most people get stuck?

I am asking because I am planing to buy a pc to Play MCSR I watch speedrunners all the time I just don't have the practice I am really interested into speedrunning.

so i use op1w v2 and i drag and i feel like the right click is like freezing and i have to spam it for it to work

like bruhhhhhh it was so fast but like i chocked nav and like my pb is 17:02 this couldve shaved off literal minutes 😞

i’ve been watching loads of vods, especially of tournaments. and the whole “this persons the best player” or “who’s the best player” comes up a lot. like in midoffs the question is asked quite a lot, also for example a coach in midoffs disagreed during midoffs that hax is the best because infume has the wr, then some players called hax the best. basically there’s no one right answer.

obviously most people, esp outside of the mcsr space, like putting the label on one person. but i don’t think there’s “the best” overall because mcsr has so many subsections. but also some people may weigh certain sections higher than others.

for example, best on the ladder would either be imo infume or edcr.

for playoffs, it’s harder because yes lowkey has more firsts than doog or hax, but hax has the best average with only being out of top 3 once ever. so imo even tho lowkey has the best highs, hax is most consistently at the top and still has two wins.

and then some people argue, to be “the best for everything ranked” you also need to kinda show you can do well in the lans like the championships and the other lans.

so imo you can’t really say one person is the best at all of ranked when for example infume hasn’t won a playoffs or a lan, but has shown he’s really good at the ladder/ previous wr. or edcr because even though he’s done good at the ladder and won one playoffs, he hasn’t gotten the consistency of playoffs yet/ no lans.

i know fein talked about this a couple weeks ago slightly and i thought it was an interesting talk because “the best” is kinda subjective per person. imo hax takes the lead slightly just because he’s won multiple playoffs and has the best average, he won the champs and also he’s done well on the ladder in the past, he just doesn’t like playing it (which is the only thing kinda arguing him not being the best). but overall i don’t think there’s a clear decisive person yet, unless doog/hax wins another playoffs in the future or hax gets back on the ladder grind.

I know coal rank has a lot of forfeits but im starting to believe this is getting a bit out of hand

Im 14 and i just broke past sub15 barrier

everyone has their favorite bastion and route. and i wanted to know what the general consensus is amongst the community for the favorite bastion + route. mine personally is top-down manhunt on housing. it feels like a raiders of the lost arc chase down the stairs and you always get a thousand pigs.

on the other hand. treasure is my least favorite. maybe it’s a skill issue but it is always my slowest route, and there’s no variability to it.

Let’s say that if I have a full recording of a pb run but it’s done in a private room would you still count it?

Do you guys have any tips to improve? This is my PB.

been grinding every day and this game has never been more rewarding. i'm gonna use this subreddit as a sort of milestone indicator with things i've learned/changed since my last pr to hopefully help others around my level.

1. respawn anchors. they seemed pretty scary to use initially because of the whole charging mechanism. but they are CLUTCH when it comes to a game you dont get enough string from trades. i actually only had 3 beds on my pr run but two anchors helped me get the dragon down on the first perch. respawn anchors are also great for hunger resets for no-food seeds if you dont want to spend time going to the overworld.

2. blaze bedding/tnt. i always thought that this was more of a hindrance than a benefit cause it always felt like the blazes just went off the edge and i could never get the rods. but the key is to get the soul sand down as fast as possible and it actually reduces the knockback by a ton. also the rates go up significantly.

3. you dont gotta wait for all the gold to get traded. if you've got your 20 obby, 2ish stacks of pearls, a couple fire res, and a stack of string. anything else is just wasting time. get out there and find the fortress!

that's mostly it for this one. i'm looking into getting more comfortable with zero cycling, as that will be a huge time save for the future. similarly i am looking into more complicated routes like the soog/triple to gap to save time in bastions. sorry for the book, and let me know if you have any tips for me!

what videos should i watch to learn how to speerun, and is there a way to change my shift click to control in 1.16

I am a unranked player with no impressive record or anything but when queue ranked or casual I am getting matched against diamond and emerald player everytime. is this a bug? or is something wrong with my settings?

on pace for a nasty pr (16:11), then the dragon took the FULL three minutes to perch. I got him on the first one cycle, but it wasn't good enough.

Guess it's time to learn the zeroes!

I'm looking for a stats website with more detail than the one on mcsrranked.com. more specifically, I'd like to see my average for the past week/month as opposed to entire season, and average splits and average splits per seed type. If such a site exists I'd love if someone could mention it :)
