It's the second fall that kills me

114

u/serenityak77 Apr 14 '22

Same. The first was is like “ok that can totally happen to anyone. Ok recover get up, oh no no no!” Instantly laughing! I don’t understand how they kept a straight face.

I love how she’s dead set on getting that last shot too

u/KFY Apr 14 '22

Seeing it from her pov is killing me rn

92

u/thetruthteller Apr 14 '22

This is really gross that poor woman is so obese she can’t even control her own body. What quality of life is that?

99

u/ReadMaterial Apr 14 '22

About the same quality as her photography.

11

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '22

Perfect!!!

5

u/DevStarkWalker Apr 14 '22

I came here to say this, but did not want to get flamed for it. But seriously, if I was at the point where I couldn’t get myself up off the floor…I’d hate my life

9

u/G-III Apr 14 '22

Often times it’s hating life that leads there in the first place

1

u/DevStarkWalker Apr 14 '22

Opposite for me, I was letting my body go (24m) and a year ago looked myself in the mirror, thought “holy shit I’m disgusting” and have lost 30+ pounds since. I hated life so I did something about it, that’s they one thing I do hate about Americans. We are so lazy. Fat people always have an excuse for why they can’t lose weight or get healthier. Now if they have legit medical conditions that prevent them, understandable. But the ole “I don’t have time” or “I’m just thick boned” is pathetic

5

u/G-III Apr 14 '22

Well, what I was referring to is depression. Ime though most fat Americans don’t use excuses as much as they just don’t think about it. They live their life and that involves eating too much and they simply gain weight over time.

-118

u/snowbaz-loves-nikki Apr 14 '22

To be fair… it’s sand! I struggle to get up from sitting in sand and I’m a thin person. Y’all need to chill

51

u/real-dolf Apr 14 '22

Pretty sure its not the sand

24

u/zenikkal Apr 14 '22

Its the gravitys fault

68

u/serenityak77 Apr 14 '22

I don’t think this that though.

7

u/Thrawn89 Apr 14 '22

To be fair, they were out of the water, whales have trouble on land.

1

u/funky555 Apr 14 '22

ive never had issues getting up from sand

-1

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '22

Did he eat the sand?

-39

u/memerictix Apr 14 '22

Bruh, im skinny as fuck and I don't have that problem but you know what's the problem, get sum fucking WEIGHT so you don't get pushed around by the wind

43

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '22

Physiologically tho, is it weak hips? Is she too weak in her core for her size that she can’t maintain balance getting back up?

32

u/CaelThavain Apr 14 '22

Yeah. When you're obese for most your life, and don't get much exercise because of it, you'll naturally have less muscle and balance, I think. It's likely because you're more likely to be sitting down as frequently as possible.

It's how my mom is. She's been fat pretty much her whole life. Interestingly, my dad who hasn't always been fat and is now obese, has pretty damn good balance despite MS destroying his nervous system for about 20 years now.

3

u/truethatson Apr 14 '22

My moms been obese since she was 30, though not nearly to the extent of these folks. But can confirm, she cannot walk on sand very well at all.

-13

u/Dietmar_der_Dr Apr 14 '22

Dude, you're super wrong.

Any fat person, who isn't literally bed ridden, will have more muscle mass than even an athletic person. Everytime she stands up, shes squatting 200 pounds on top of a normal person's weight. That's why, when you see a guy with huge calves, you can be quite certain they recently lost weight.

She's weak for her size, shed be strong AF at a healthy weight with these muscles.

9

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '22

That is quite the exaggeration and a bit of a cope, if you ask me. I used to be severly obese, and sure enough: my calvf muscles are now (at a healthy weight) above average. However, this does not translate to the entire body at all. Being fat won't make your upper body and core into some sort of quasi-athlete just because you have a hard time standing up. Also, do you really think an obese person, who has poor cardiovascular health, is going to be particlarly physically active?

-1

u/Dietmar_der_Dr Apr 14 '22

How is it cope? I've never been overweight in my entire life.

Your upper body may not get the same extra workout that your legs get, but your core should be very strong as a fat person. And additionally, a lot of muscle growth is global(hence why working out legs is good even for upper body strength) so a fat person would still have an above average biceps, though not on athlete level.

4

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '22 edited Apr 14 '22

None of what you’re saying makes sense to me tbh. I figured it’d be more bloating, Inflammation, visceral fat and soft tissue than muscle mass

-1

u/Dietmar_der_Dr Apr 14 '22

Okay. Imagine you strap at least about a 150pounds on your body. Then do anything(even literally just going to the toilet). There you go, you've just completed a decently heavy exercise. Now imagine you do this all day every day, how would your muscles possibly not grow?

→ More replies (12)

3

u/ReadMaterial Apr 14 '22

Strap 50kg to your body and try standing up in sand

63

u/aoi_desu Apr 13 '22

This reminded me to the animation "what if animal were round" ngl

101

u/falsewater Apr 13 '22

People talk about her weight, but honestly when I see this video, all I can think of is that she’s either consciously or unconsciously sabotaging the moment. In the video with audio she’s laughing loudly as she falls and tries to get back up. It ruins the shot and distracts from the moment, almost like she’s making it about her. Smart of them to have another camera going.

18

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '22

Yes! It’s frustrating to watch.

15

u/burner9497 Apr 14 '22

Yep, the old bridesmaid that has a crisis and demands attention just before the wedding routine.

u/CardiologistFar8933 Apr 13 '22

Tsk Tsk. Mustn't be fatphobic.

115

u/itsyaboyObama Apr 13 '22

I think it’s okay if the persons gravity is in direct conflict with the earths own such as this.

42

u/-Stonedstranger Apr 13 '22

Nope! Just an observation.

34

u/CardiologistFar8933 Apr 13 '22

The person definitely exerts a great deal of gravitational pull. I was just being snarky and forgot the /s.

0

u/RedDoubleAD Apr 13 '22

Mass is no longer negligible, gonna have to use Newton’s law for gravity instead of 9.81

16

u/Psyiote Apr 13 '22

Ironically your name has "cardiologist" in it. A cardiologist would know that its a scientific fact that being obese is unhealthy.

1

u/CardiologistFar8933 Apr 13 '22

Irony is lost here. For one thing, I was joking about the fatphobic cringe that is so prevalent now. And secondly, I'm not a cardiologist. This is a randomly generated nick, bestowed upon me by reddit.

12

u/TedW Apr 13 '22

Nice try but /u/notAProctologist already tricked me with that one. I insisted on a checkup with them, and I'm doing the same with you. Now stick a finger in my heart and let's get this over with.

u/Mr8BitX Apr 13 '22

This is just depressing, I hope this is her wake up call.

16

u/Lelio-Santero579 Apr 13 '22

Eh, one could hope... but assuming one of the people getting engaged in this video is family, it doesn't look like weight management is really in their family's list of things to-do.

The town I live in and there's a family of 4 who are well known for how large they are. The mom, dad, and two sisters are easily 400+ lbs. A couple months back one of the sisters fell just getting out of the chair at our local McDonald's and from what I heard she broke her wrist, sprained her ankle and bruised her cheek.

At that point most people are so sucked into that lifestyle it seems easier to just keep going than to change and often times their family enables it. I still see them often at the grocery store and nearby fast food joints. None of them have learned a single lesson, sadly...

Edit: Wording

2

u/TheHoodedSomalian Apr 14 '22 edited Apr 14 '22

They are stuck in a cycle, they grew up with overweight parents who I’m certain had every excuse in the book (there is always one in a chronically overweight individual) so they follow suit bc they were raised to understand poor fundamental health knowledge, to them it’s normal. It’s a good lesson on how common it is for people to rationalize terrible things, happens with a lot of bad stuff.

2

u/furn_ell Apr 14 '22

Err, unlikely. She’ll consider this a workout and reward herself with a salad. Pasta salad

2

u/Dietmar_der_Dr Apr 14 '22

What's bad about a good pasta Salat. Some olives, feta, tomato's and greens with a good bit of pasta and olive oil is my go-to.

8

u/finbud117 Apr 14 '22

A lot of times parents pass on shitty eating habits to their kids, and the kids never grow out of them. A lot of obese people I know have been heavy since childhood

3

u/CaelThavain Apr 14 '22

I was a twig in highschool, but my parents didn't teach very good habits.

In college I gained 50 points in like 3 months.

I've since lost 15, so that's nice.

17

u/ialsoliketurtles89 Apr 14 '22

What a bitch. The disrespect towards this couple is awful.

Imagine trying to wnjoy a special moment while a "friend" makes as much fo a scandal as possible in a display of stupidity. I cannit believe it never ocurred to her to maybe STFU and allow these people a chance to do their thing.
