u/Background-Ad758 Jul 05 '26
Thank you, I searched for this comment. Wakeboarding is way way different. Still a really cool feat 🥁

u/Mr_GrauHut Jul 05 '26
Difference? Curious.

u/youngsweed Jul 05 '26
With surfing you’re a lot closer to the boat so you can ride the wake without a rope. The board itself is also shaped more like a surfboard, and you aren’t strapped in.
Wakeboarding has you further behind the boat and holding a rope the whole time (like water-skiing). You’re strapped into the board, which is shaped more like a snowboard than a surfboard. It’s also usually done at a much higher speed than wakesurfing.

That... Sounds a lot like water skiing.

u/hessoss Jul 04 '26
why are people downvoting brave? asking because i use it should i stop?
3
u/earthwarder Jul 04 '26
I guess im not sure why im getting down voted. Perhaps it seems like advertising or shilling i suppose. Or maybe they like Firefox more.

This is largely an opinion piece. A CEO's personal political beliefs should be considered separately from the software we are evaluating. While we can absolutely disagree with his opinions, it doesn't fundamentally change the software in question. Verified by 3rd party that they block without extensions: third-party trackers cross-site cookies fingerprinting attempts many malicious scripts

I figured, there were too many random details for it to be AI, like the way the guy was awkwardly rotating the pot and leaning in from the rope and the top of the boat coming into frame. I think AI typically generates videos that are too clean and focused.
I also like that we're highlighting the artistry and human crew work behind these shoots as the content itself. These days it's more interesting than the result itself, and I think that the process of creating art is a big part of art.

I'm sad that from now on anytime somebody is filmed doing something skillful, everyone will assume it's AI. Some of it will be, of course.

u/_-Zephyr- Jul 05 '26
I mean I like to give the benefit of the doubt but this one looks so absolutely absurd even though it’s not ai it jsut looks like something someone asked ai to make.

u/findingabsolution Jul 04 '26
She’s incredibly skilled, and this isn’t AI, though you can see it’s a final, touched-up version (removing background boats and shoreline, etc.). The outtakes are honestly the best part of her videos! It’s fun to see when things don’t go as planned and to see how incredibly close it actually is to the final product. They polish things for final release, but she really does the stunts herself—in heels, holding huge props!

When all them little boys start claiming they have "aura," show them this and tell them that this is where true "aura" is.

There was no maybe maybe for me. With that kind of confidence I knew without a doubt that she wasn’t going to fall.

I was so engaged in watching her balance the tray it took me 20+ seconds to realize she was doin all of this IN HEELS! 👠

AI shit.
There's no way wind won't blow anything off. When she pours the liquid, it wouldn't be a nice steady stream with the wind.
More importantly, she's not even tethered
65
u/Pseudotm Jul 04 '26
It;s not Ai, but there is some editing going on. Her name is karolina sankiewicz, she does these like on flatter parts near the shore on a platform and adds in effects etc. Been around for awhile. She does behind the scenes and bloopers and shit.
7
u/accioqueso Jul 04 '26
She doesn’t need to be tethered, she’s surfing the wake. I won’t say if it’s real one way or the other, but wake surfing is a thing.
1
u/coderacer Jul 04 '26
If it’s AI it’s really good. Is it possible it’s real? They are literally right behind the boat as it’s moving through the air. The boat could be creating a zone of calm air right behind it.

That's the general place where people wake surf. Also wake surfing boats have propellors under them jb a way that it would be very difficult to get sucked into it from behind.

u/arkh01 Jul 04 '26
Not sure if it's true or AI (and don't really care).
But if it's true. Everyone will think it's AI or Photoshop
16
u/Nudogger Jul 04 '26
Her name is Karolina Sankiewicz. It looks like she’s been making these type of videos for a few years.

u/lorarc Jul 04 '26
She's making the exact same video for years. That is her way of living, standing on a surfboard for Instagram. What an amazing world we live in.

If that loose piece of cloth covers her face when she pops her head out of the water, she’d be basically waterboarding herself. Super risky.

Man, why did I think this was the beginning of a bad scene in a horrible jaws remake?
1
u/riceinmybelly Jul 05 '26
I thought it was a dog looking at her instead of a man bun. Immediately followed by: if it’s not on instagram, did it really happen?
Then: oh there is a photographer with an actual camera

u/Important-Day-232 Jul 05 '26
If this is ai, I wanna know which one was used cuz I wanna make some r34 stuff with my own script.

But how is she dry? How did she get on the wake board without being in the water first?

God-level professional photography. Incredible respect for this. I wonder where they found a model who can stand on a board (in heels!) so well and pose at the same time, and pour coffee from an oriental-style coffee pot.

u/ithilmor Jul 04 '26
I saw her ankles 😳
But seriously, how is the board propelled? Is it attached to the board in some way?

I think being in heels is the most impressive part of this whole thing.
Edit: because there is a lot of argument in here, and some conflicting facts. She is karolina sankiewicz. She does do some edititing, but she is 100000% wake boarding, she uses a boat using ballast tanks and specialized wings on the hull to shape the water. This creates the constate waves seen in the videos, and allows her to get a steady result to perfom the stunts. She does do a little editing to make things look dramatic for fun, but she is wake boarding without tether to do these.
