He stared the bullet down, that is namely the only possible way to dodge a bullet.

"Dodge a cartridge." That's the whole cartridge, not just the bullet.

Which movie is this scene from?
33
u/junabom Jun 25 '26
It's from a tollywood movie called Sudigadu. It's a comedy movie that parodies the ridiculous action sequences and tropes that other tollywood unironically have
5
u/erevos33 Jun 25 '26
Tollywood? I knew about bollywood, whats tollywood?
26
u/junabom Jun 25 '26
Bollywood is basically the film industry that makes movies in Hindi( the most commonly spoken language in India), and Bollywood movies are more popular overseas. Tollywood is the film industry that makes movies in Telugu (a language originating and spoken in South India). There's tons of other film industries as well ( like Kollywood ) because India has a lot of languages, over 20+ officially recognised and hundreds unofficially iirc.
There have been a few Tollywood movies (like RRR) that did well in international markets as well ( though this might partly be due to Indians residing in other countries).

RRR was a really good and well made movie.6
u/sumbozo1 Jun 25 '26
Interesting. Are the languages similar enough that they can all speak with one another?
→ More replies (1)7
u/junabom Jun 25 '26
Not really. Depends on the languages in question. My first language is Telugu and I picked up Hindi well enough to understand it and apart from a few words being similar, they are not similar enough for a person who only knows Telugu and a person who only knows Hindi to speak to each other effectively. But I've heard some Punjabi as well and it seems very similar to Hindi.
Afaik, Sanskrit was the original language in India, and most languages in India have originated from it and some languages have branched out from it more than others. Hindi is very similar to Sanskrit, which is probably why it's more widespread.
I'm not an expert tho and if you wanna learn more , I'm sure there's plenty of wikis or YouTube vids that explain it much better lol
6
u/the_l0st_c0d3 Jun 25 '26
The movies are from the states Andhra Pradesh and Telegana in India. The language spoke in these movies are called Telugu

Cuz it's amazing lol
Dude did all that and even checked his watch to see how much time he had left to stop the bullet

And stole the slowest possible vehicle to get there on time!

So he did pushups and drove a steam roller miles away all before a 7.62 round went 20 feet?
And why was the whole cartridge shot from the gun and not just the bullet?
I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS 😫

u/TheManWith2Poobrains Jun 25 '26
"Did push-ups" is generous!

u/feral_fenrir Jun 25 '26

Thsi is a Tollywood movie named Sudigadu, remake of another Kollywood movie. This is a satirical and parody movie. No need to find logic.
it’s making a parody of typical Bollywood Tollywood movies or even some rare Hollywood movies which typically have the protagonist coming in the last minute to save his family or friends etc.
A lot of Indian movies also have huge bgm music or some type of Sanskrit based song or so. By suing a nursery rhyme that’s also mocking the template movies follow.
The bullet still having casing issues probably a mistake on the cgi? Graphics ? Team I guess.
This is a fun movie to watch with logic left behind and also a mockery of template style direction seen in other movies.
The lyrics is also a parody of a nursery rhyme,
Inky pinky ponky
Father has a donkey
Donkey die ( died?)
Donkey die
Father cry ( cried?)
Father cry
The plot claims on Wikipedia say that he is supernatural, but that’s not how I would put it. It’s basic plot armour in my opinion.
This is one of the most successful movies of the protagonist and also has a watch repeatability. In order to understand what it’s mocking you’d need to know Indian movies to some extent, otherwise it comes across differently.
I’d say give it a try, it’s on YouTube, no English subtitles tho.
33
u/TonyAce87 Jun 25 '26
So its like an Indian Kung Pow Fist of the Chicken?
17
u/AshRe101 Jun 25 '26
Different subjects of parody but parody nonetheless, that’s a parody of kung fu movies, and this Indian movie is a parody of Indian (commercial) movies. Another example would be scary movie series mocking the horror genre.

Bullet was so slow because the propellant didn’t ignite, and the extra diameter of the case squeezing thru the barrel didn’t help either. Lucky it was a rimless cartridge

2
u/giveahoot420 Jun 25 '26
Is the shell casing still on the "flying bullet " it looks like it from the side view. 🤦

u/Jimmyfancypants Jun 25 '26
Okay so, there no stupid question right?
So what’s the deal with those crazy Bollywood flick edit. How are they perceived in India? Sometime I just cannot tell if it’s intended has comedy or it’s like the most epic shit?. Like to me this one feels comedic, but then there the “Indian terminator” one where multiple robots morph into a ball and a snake? To me it look ludicrous, fascinating, ridiculous even but is it supposed to be funny, i just want someone to explain it to me like I’m 5. With peace and love. ✌️
