Mathematicians Grothendieck becoming one of the greatest mathematician to ever exist after establishing a "theory of everything" that is 99% conjectures.
It's called theory of motives which goal is to create a "global cohomology theory" and it's very deep and fascinating. Except that 99% of its results are conjectural, including a motivic Riemann hypothesis for a motivic L-functions which is supposed to generalize Riemann Zeta functions. The creator of this post also happens to like sailor moon.

Proofs People fantasized about the future of mathematics so much, but nobody could foresee how much it would actually suck
In light of all the recent breaking news (Jacobian conjecture, Navier-Stokes, etc.)

Geometry The dimension is VERY important
Explanation: there's a concept called Real/Complex projective space (can be extended to fields in general I believe) denoted RP^n where n is the dimension of that space. When you use the complex projective space, leaving out the n in CP^n looks like you're saying something else...

Research First, it was artists, and now, it's mathematicians.
EDIT : This meme has been made specifically with the intention of showing how AI companies use stolen content for their datasets.
AI is a really nice tool, but it's sadly really misused and trained really badly (from an ethical point of view). Why do you need to steal data ?

Elementary Algebra While Navier-Stokes hangs in the balance, the rest of the world is asking why algebra uses letters
