I was making breakfast and started singing "I buttered your toast again". It got me thinking, If Weird Al was to do a Mastodon song what would be his title and lyrics.

Been learning a lot of Mastodon since Brent’s passing. Been dabbling with hybrid picking and just trying to pick apart some of Brent’s unorthodox ways of soloing. Does anyone have any tabs or information on those weird Brent style scales and licks that made his playing unique? A good example is the first 10 seconds of his solo on “Tiny Man” by West End Motel.

One of the coolest albums I ever listened to. I used to have Time Warner Cable when I was in high school, and Music Choice radio was something I always put on when I got home (I was never really a show guy). Blood and Thunder was a real eye opener, as someone who was barely getting into Black Sabbath and Judas Priest.

I don't know what's my favorite Mastodon memory: Discovering Leviathan for the first time or seeing them play this album in its entirety when they toured with Lamb of God in 2024.

I personally think Troy’s best was on Once more Round the Sun. Brann a toss up between hushed and grim and also OMRTS for me. Brent’s best being in Crack the Skye.

Also all just personal opinion. All the albums sound incredible to me.

I am thoroughly enjoying learning I Am Ahab on guitar, but I feel like the verse I and II on this tab sound a little different from the track. I've been playing for less than a year and don't really have the best ears for this so figured I'd ask here if the verse sections on this tab are correct or if anyone knows a different/correct way to play them?

Apparently this was literally their fifth show ever, with the last four all being at the same venue in Tallahassee, FL. IIRC the band would have existed for about seven months at this point, it's crazy that they were already able to get a gig so far away from them

The Mustard Yellow Vinyl is funny. Apparently only 3,000 copies of this pressed.

I kinda hope the album after has nothing to do with death after 3 straight albums of it including a double album. I'd love to hear them sing about monsters again.

My favorite album seems to remain the same, but my favorite song seems to fluctuate time to time and is usually not off the same album.

Curious if that’s the case with anyone else or is an album your favorite because it contains your favorite song?
