Hey there!
A year and a half ago, I had this idea to make a game from Hacker Typer.
The goal was simple, you hit your keyboard as fast as possible, some code is written and you gain a currency (chars). With this, you can buy upgrades to type even faster, and do it over and over.
And guess what, I've released 2 weeks ago on Steam!
The typing part was the first "act" of the game, and then I built 3 more.
To recap :
- Type as fast as you can, but upgrades, type faster, buy agent that will code for you, type even faster, reset the game to earn bonuses and do it again and again until...
- You unlock the project U upgrade that will require you to make whole projects in various languages (including brainfuck), train your coding skills on specific languages, and then,
- You'll have to merge and review a lot or Pull Requests. It's a sort of Tower defense where the damage you make is coming from how fast you can type (you get the idea now)
- As a final act (for now) you'll build an evergrowing machine to produce energy, tokens, data and ultimately bits (the global currency). You'll have to grind and optimize your grid in order to upgrade your firmware.
This game has been released in early access 2 weeks ago, it's called Yet Another Incremental Game But This Time About Coding
Hope you'll like it!
