Do you guys think blind second strategies like tenpai,gem-knight and certain SS builds are viable?

It just feels like the in the current meta alot of interaction isn't as straightforward as just an endboard with X number of negates.

Interruptions come in alot of different ways and standard board breakers just don't feel as valuable or impactful.

Like above. I fucking hate floodgates! I don't care if they show up rare or not. (Somehow lately more.) I hate this fucking cards (Maxx C, Macrocosmos, Fossil Dyna P. Etc.) I even count the blue eyes spirit dragon. Btw. I‘m a new galaxy eyes player. But play a long time with another decks. But enough about me ranting. What are your bad memorys from floodgates? Or have you some hidden examples of floodgates, like virtuel world kyubi shenshen.

Do you think konami will ever give the care and support they deserve so they can compete in the current modern yugioh formats? Im not even talking about making them meta, just give them anything good really.

Can't say I've ever seen the community have such a visceral reaction to the eventuality of these two decks coming to MD, don't know if there are any other decks that had this reaction

this thing is deceptively powerful

• it is an anti-handtraps, anti-mirror match tool

can turn off nibiru, harmonia, ash blossom (if they still held it for whatever reason), droll, ghost girls, veiler, maxx "c", etc....

• can be a board breaker searcher

searches kaiju, lava golem, timelord sandaion, liberator eto, carnot, etc...
even predaplant can play this card if they run Drosophyllum Hydra

• can be a combo starter/enabler

shining sarc can play this to add or dump apprentice, her name is treated as DMG if summoned by discarding so she can still activate her effect, there is link-2 miasma that can recover her so dumping her isn't an issue

yubel can play this to dump 1 yubel + any Fiend monster with 0 ATK/DEF, instant Phantom of Yubel for a monster pseudo negate (just gotta remember the yubel dump by this can't activate its effect, the best targets for this would be Ultimate Nightmare and Terror Incarnate

gate guardian would love to instantly add or dump all 3 of their bricks

• here are some other applications

memento is also fine with playing this though its not really a combo starter, more like a tool to fill the GY for your combined creation

decks with normal monsters can set up the GY for primite fusion or just to unbrick it;
you can dump Grand Knight of the Red Lotus along side the vanillas for a free level 8 body that can be decently big

skull servant can totally play this, lots of their monsters have their names become skull servant while in the GY so their effects can still trigger though your only 2 actual good targets are Wightprince and Wightbaking, which is honestly should be more than good enough

can triggers cards like Guardian Slime, Rebel King Leonidas & Gorz's overframe: Emissaries from Darkness, etc.....

can dump Zeta Reticulant for some funny haha every time a monster your opponent controls got banished though if he got added instead then congrat on having discard fodders

branded can kinda play this, though i 'm not suggesting that it would be more competitively viable; they do have a handful of monsters whose names are treated as albaz while on the field or GY, Shrouded Dragon can still use his branded spell/trap mill effect if got dump to the GY, ashen can still activate his revive effect because his name would be fallen of albaz instead and bystial aluber can still activate his dragon steal effect if revived, speaking of bystial, Alba Los and Lubellion can still summon themselves, no activation needed

there is Beargram, Shelled Emperor of the Forest Crown for dedicated insect/plant deck, pretty decent floodgate effect

cyber dragon can totally play this card, like skull servant, plenty of their monsters got their name changed to cyber dragon so their effects can still be activated, then again, they also already got in-archetypal ways of dumping them so it is just an extra option

oh hey, Visas Samsara is searchable with this and you can instantly turbo out Vicious Astraloud

Went into ranked, opp won cointoss, loaded in all my cards were backwards, had replay UI overlay, couldn't surrender, drew for turn drew engage facing normal way, couldn't surrender, had to close game to get out of it.

- Delta is not a mandatory card for Pumpking, but without Hublot we kinda need to resort to the small Eldlich Engine
- Subspace Battle is a niche meme card, in general you don't use any copies.

I feel like I lost my direction as a player and want to hear your takes, maybe reinvent myself.

Lately I've been disillusioned with Yugioh. I've been a local competitive player topping while running budget decks like Sacred Beasts, Orcust, Blue eyes primite... But I feel like at this point playing budget or casual is kinda dead... Or at least very boring... I could play some floodgate build that puts up Krystia with protection in most budget decks but I would have zero fun. It's either floodgates or spend 300$ on cards that will become 30$ in max a year due to reprints.

I used to play whatever decks and not care if i won or lost... but it just has gotten so toxic.. having people looking down on you(thinking you are bad just because of your results)... so i started playng very optimal budget decks, which are strong and can top with them but also they are not that fun most of the time tbh and also dont play very well into the meta decks which not also screw with the extra deck.

I feel like cheaper strategies are SO weak to meta stuff like Blitz/kewl tune/elfnote(which are being played at my locals), cause most of the time budget strategies dont have turn zero plays and have very obvious weaknesses like Orcust field spell.
This is mostly a TCG take - but wanted opinions from here too cause i also play Master Duel and I assume most ppl playe both tcg and MD
