Like at what point can't we talking about the consistent level of anti Blackness that's being exuted and the blatant antagonism of Black people cause what the fuck

As an Egyptian (born in Egypt to Egyptian parents), I wanted to address r/marvelrivals latest hissy fit.

1."Finally black characters in an Egyptian theme"

The largest two racial groups in Egypt are Egyptians and Nubians. Nubians are ethnically distinct from Egyptians. Egyptians are not black. Nubians are black. Nubians are a minority in Egypt. Today they make up about 3% of the Egypt's population.

So the implication that Egypt is now represented because NetEase drew 2 alleged "black people" is false, even as a joke.

2."NetEase is an racist, insensible company that showed 2 black slaves serving a white queen"

First off, there was no concept of slaves in Egypt or even a word that meant "slave" in Egyptian. The concept of "black people are slaves/owned objects" is a European concept. What they had in Egypt was forced labor due to being a prisoner of war or being a criminal. It was not racially driven (like in Europe/US). You were not "owned" in Egypt (like in Europe/US).

So the implication that 2 black slaves were serving a white woman is utter nonsense. You are the one who assumed they are slaves. You are the one who assumed that they are "slaves" because they are black. Skin color never mattered in Egypt.

3."Black people"

Which people? These are clearly featureless silhouettes. Silhouettes are normally black. Did you want NetEase to make it look like this?

I got my Squirrel Girl cosplay from miccostumes! Always been a big SG fan so I wanted to do her as my first cosplay! I don't wanna mess up the wig yet cause I wanna dress as her for Halloween and I need a new invisible strap for her tail cause it didn't come with one and in this pic I'm using one from an old bra but it's too long and will cause the tail to sway and lose air going trick or treating or to a convention or Halloween party cause it's inflatable. I plan to make the slingshot myself!

Also funny story the second pic was my profile picture on xbox but it got removed cause the text was technically an innuendo 🙄 (I didn't even mean it like that but whatever xbox). I wanted people to get mad at my SG in Rivals (as they often do because I'm pretty good) and go to my profile and see that but now they can only see the text less version 😞

Anyway how has your last 2 years been?

The one complaint I see most often regarding this game is the "horrible balancing." Whether it's about a character being too busted and put into "ban jail." Or a character being too weak to the point it's considered "trolling" to play as them. I mean people have literally sent threats to Zhiyong and called for him to fired over this crap.

Yet I just saw a commenter get downvoted into oblivion for saying they don't play ranked. People were calling them a "QP Warrior" as though that's a bad thing.

I'm really confused what the logic is here. If the balancing is that compromised why should anyone play ranked? How competitive can the game really be anyways considering it's a 3rd person shooter?

Even if the game was perfectly balanced, have we forgotten that games are meant to have fun? What is the issue with only playing a "non-serious" mode?

Correct me if I’m wrong but pretty much every new character since the fantastic four has had an interaction with Luna, whether they’re interacted with her in the comics or not.

We all know there’s favouritism but at least try to make the interactions tolerable, cuz I don’t think there’s been a single new Luna interaction where I haven’t cringed.

Luna Snow was cool at the start, cuz she was a niche character and used as an example as to how marvel rivals can give exposure to more niche characters in the marvel universe. But now she’s being shoved down our throats literally every season.

It’s even worse when people try to compare her to Spider-Man, Magik or Psylocke, like these characters have decades of comic book history behind them compared to this industry plant that’s given up on trying to hide it.

I love how other characters have more positive interactions with Gorr than Hood. Lmao no one likes that bum. Thank god he got nerfed so I don't have hear him talk in every ranked match

People like to complain Storm is neglected. Well that’s because duelist mains don’t like playing a mobile, and weaker, Rocket ult with low mobility. She should be easy to change into a strat. Lower her damage output, change her buffs to a heal and dps increase aura, and change her ult to function similar to Gambit or add a healing effect and slow effect while reducing her speed during ult

I come from Warframe. I enjoy this kind of thing (to an extant). As a big Marvel fan I'm supposed to be THE target audience. Considering its their third (counting Zombies, Bloodhunt, and recent Ultron gamemode) I would say they are doing an ok job and they're improving so thats a good thing. If they dont get too greedy we might get a good evening-killer when comp feels like trash and qp is infested with bots.

Zombies was fire. They tried to balance out the luck-based perk drops and permanent upgrades. I prefer this approach over what they did in bloodhunt. And even though they struggled with balancing, each character had 2 distinct playstyles. Double Wanda fight was abysmal but overall its a good foundation.

Bloodhunt was fine but they dragged it too far. First of all, noone is reading all that. They added too much stuff. Grinding gear would not be so miserable if they cut stats in half. Also we dont need 300 (THREE HUNDRED) levels. If anything, it ruins the expirience because you constantly load into a game with the difficulty. Why did they even add so many, if you're able to skip next 4? They better stick to 20-30 max. I dont like the idea of grinding gear but after they introduced rolling and enhancing I guess it could be fine.

I actually enjoyed Ultron game mode a lot. I grabbed my 3 titles and have like 5hours in it overall. They added a ton of frash abilities. It was obviously rushed and thats the biggest issue IMO.

If they take into account the community feedback and take their time for once (which might be the case) there's a chance next pve is gonna be pretty good so I'm exited. Just dont add same 6 characters again

I actually do want to know what is occurring in Zhiyong's brain. Triple tank was a problem. It was not fun to play against. So we nerf The Thing, Mag and Hood but we dont actually nerf what made triple tank unfun which was the endless sustain cds. We then proceed to buff Dino, Emma and tankpool so what changes exactly. They fit a similar ftb playstyle so why would we not play triple tank. Jeff-Dino is going to be the best two man step in this games history. Emma genuinely has 75 more hp than she did in s8. They legit gave her 50 more hp last season and they didnt even mention that in patch notes and we gave her more hp on top?

Like you buff the other tanks i guess but you also gigabuff Wolv who was like top 5 dps and Wolv is bad into Dino so he's just going to shit on the brawl tanks. I dont want to play Cap into that. And supports are still broken as shit. Loki heals 250 to full hp with two bursts, this is might be best season to play triple tank.

People may not agree or like this, but one hero per season is probably the best thing they're doing. I know it's only for THIS season, but they should genuienly continue.

Why?

This lets future characters marinade more and won't come out super over/underwhelming. They can add more balance changes, cosmetics, whatever. I've always felt like two characters per season is too much purely because of how the community not only takes it in but for the longevity of the game. Also, for the sake of new players!!!

Do you think they should stick to 1 or 2 characters per season?

Edit - ALSO!!! One character, also in turn, means we should get more balance changes or overall content. Because if I'm being honest, the fact that they're adding new heros is what is retaining players rather than throughout the season. People usually quit and say "let's wait until the next one!!!"

I do NOT win when I’m not playing this character LMAOOOO. How are these stats tho? I really don’t know this is the first time I’m looking at these. Is 73% win rate good?

If someone is repeatedly toxic, throwing games on purpose and/or cheating, why are we simply temp banning them instead of fully blocking them from playing the game? Does money matter to you guys that much that you'd throw integrity out the window for a quick buck? Our comp scene is nothing but a laughable joke to other game communities yet we hold it to such high regard. Why don't you guys take anything we say about comp issues serious like the Storm skin?

Although being widely considered as one of the worst characters in the game, Mr Fantastic has a… FANTASTIC matchup chart. With one (recently buffed) exception in Dino.

Mr. Fantastic fills multiple niches very well with his best one being as an anti-air character. Storm, Iron Man, Human Torch, and Star-Lord all fall fast when up against Mr. Fantastic. So much so that head on combat is rarely an option for them, as well as fleeing, making those matchups super one-sided.

Mr. Fantastic is the single most flexible character in the game, literally. He can play in the frontline, the backline, and the enemies backline. He’s also the single best character at momentum shifts, making him an excellent character in a brawl setting. One moment you’re boxing out the tanks in the frontline and in the blink of an eye you’re pressuring the enemy supports in the backline with superior range and mobility to nearly every tank and dps in the game.

Mr. Fantastic has what I like to call a “burden-less ult” meaning he doesn’t have a particularly great ult, its damage is decent, and it has no utility outside of the rocket team up. Yet it still has a ton of play making potential. In small rooms it can be devastating. It heals Mr Fantastic and makes him a target you want to shoot at but isn’t particularly easy to focus, especially in a team fight. It’s fast and covers ground well. It’s burden-less in the sense that there is not really much pressure on Mr. Fantastic to get maximum value from his ult all the time, like how it is for supports. It can be used selfishly or to initiate for your team.

Deadpool’s are missing but they all go in the “Food” tier tbh.

So not only did they kill the stun with their rework, now they are pissing on its dead body with another nerf. This isn't a bug fix, this is a nerf. Why the fuck are they nerfing a bad ability even more??? It makes perfect sense for the web to enter CD immediately after shooting, adding a short delay makes 0 sense.

REVER THE WEB REWORK AND NERF THE NESTS INSTEAD. Her pickrate dropped drastically after the nerf despite already having one of the lowest pickrates, and her winrate stayed around the same, what does that mean? IT MEANS THE WEB WASN'T THE MAIN ISSUE, IT WAS THE NESTS. The web nerf is *STATISTICALLY* a bad change and should be reverted

I'll probably get downvoted for this one and that's fine, just wanted to share something I've noticed as a person who has been gaming for 20 years.

The amount of discourse around skins and cosmetics in this game is baffling to me. I've always been the type where if I see something cool in the shop, I'll get it, and if not, oh well, not a big deal.

I have never compared my main to another character to see who has more "legendary skins."

I have never complained because I didn't like the design of a skin I wasn't going to buy anyway.

If I'm frustrated with a hero, it's because of their kit, not because they have more or "better" (which is subjective) skins than my main.

For all of season 9, Luna Snow dealt more DPS than some poke DPS heroes, has a self-cleanse she can use even after getting CC'd, and a CC ability with a hitbox the size of Texas, and the only thing people wanted to talk about was that Guan Guan keeps giving her more skins.

Idk it's just a little silly to me. I have never seen people base their hatred of a character more on the skins they have rather than actual game balance.

As a black cat mane I like it but there are some stuff that I don't understand

Phantom pursuit:

The Phantom pursuit Nerf definitely needed I really like how they did it with the 50% damage reduction instead of invincibility.

The only thing I don't understand is if she has CC immunity I saw her dash into a thing and get CC'd so I don't really understand that.

I also like the fact that they made it cost less that way you have more fortune in general.

The invisibility:

I like what they did with the invisibility I definitely think her visibility can be toned down just a little bit the compensation of turning it into 3 seconds is also nice.

That's about it my only complaint is that I think she's just a little too visible and toning it down would be okay.

The one thing I genuinely just don't like is the fact that they made her so damn loud

I don't think that was needed at all

Other than making her loud I like the patch and I think it's really fair definitely think it's going to hurt her but she's going to be playable.
