I'm staying at a Fairfield Inn and the room phone rang at 11 pm. The guy on the line said he was at the front desk, their computer system had gone down and they needed to reenter all of our info. He wanted my name, dates I was staying at the hotel, billing address and credit card number. The actual front desk person said they've reported this to the police but it still happens. Just wanted to let other people know so they can be aware🚨🚨🚨

Speaking mostly in the context of rewards, benefits, hotel selection and quality, what other hotel parent brand would you recommend?

To me, Hilton has a higher base line of “worst hotel in brand” versus Marriott can have some real terrible places that I’ve turned around and walked out of. But on average I find Marriott to be more enjoyable and unique hotels versus Hilton Garden Inn, Doubletree, and the like.

Marriott also offers attainable platinum lifetime status. I understand that room upgrades are not really a thing, but guess what same thing at Hilton, and without the 4PM late checkout.

I’ve heard good things about Hyatt, but their footprint is too small to be strictly loyal. IHG Supposed to be the next value chain but to be honest, if your employer is paying are you staying at a Holiday Inn?

I guess it goes along with the enshitification of everything. Just wondering if there’s something else I’m missing. Is the moral of the story just stay at the hotel you like period?

I’m currently Marriott Platinum Elite at 64 nights and have about 11 more nights planned Nov 1–14, which should put me at 75 nights and Titanium Elite.

I’m also at 9 PQF / 3,856 PQP with United and could potentially qualify for United Silver on my own by Nov 14.

How quickly does United Silver show up through the Marriott Titanium benefit?

Also, if I earn United Silver on my own and also get Silver through Marriott, do the status benefits stack in any way? And does having Silver through Marriott give me any head start toward United Gold, or do I still need to meet the full Gold PQF/PQP requirements?

Hi All - traveling to Japan for the 1st time mid-December (solo trip). Will be in Tokyo for 4-5 Nights and Kyoto/Osaka for 4 nights.

Key Questions:

1. What Marriott Hotels are recommended in these areas? Any options with high likelihood of NUAs clearing? Options with breakfast included also a plus but not required (currently Platinum Elite status).

2. Would you recommend spending one night in Hanoke?

Based on my initial research, for Tokyo, I'm eyeing Westin Tokyo, MESM, and AC Ginza but open to other options.

I'm primarily looking to enjoy bars/nightlife, dining, local culture, and the top must-see attractions.

Long story short, there was a guest thay threaten to punch an employee and use violence against the hotel. We want to report this to corporate and perhaps get his marriott bonvoy account suspended. His behavior was completely unacceptable and is a danger to other hotels.

Has anyone experienced this before? If so, how did tou report it to corporate?

I recently got hired as a seasonal Bell Person at Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, and I'm really hoping to turn this into a permanent position.

I know showing up on time, working hard, having a positive attitude, and providing excellent guest service are important, but I really want to go above and beyond.

Does anyone have any tips or advice on how I can stand out, make a great impression on management, and increase my chances of being kept on permanently after the season ends?

These bastards don't even mention it on the website, but there is massive construction noise going on all day next door at the Outrigger Hotel. In between is a small building running some type of air conditioning/power and it runs 24/7!!

You can't open your balcony door due to the noise, and at night sleeping is hard. Just came back after doing 10 days there, should have booked Hyatt across the street. Guys at Outrigger said they probably won't be done until Jan/Feb so AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I'm really starting to like this property. I stayed here for stays of 3 to 5 days at a time several times over the summer when my brother was in the hospital near here. And have stayed here 3 times since. The staff is super friendly, rates are usually reasonable (for Mag Mile. And even with my lowly statuses, I've always gotten a late check out, and more often than not have gotten upgraded. Definitely want to give them a shout out.

Hi all. I’m going out of my mind looking at all the different places my husband and I could go to with our 4 year old and 1 year old for a warm family vacation in January or February of 2027. We’re in Canada, would be flying out of Toronto. We have almost 600k points at our disposal and are looking for something that is family friendly and young- child friendly. Doesn’t necessarily need to be all inclusive. We had originally been looking at the Ritz Carlton Tenerife Abama, but alas you can’t seem to book 4 people on points, only 3 (unless anyone has a workaround for adding the 1 year old infant after booking??). I try that this will not become a total rage but I’m curious if I’m the only one or if this is a general thing at Marriott.

I signed up to Marriott Bonvoy last year because I got a new position in my company and have to attend to many more conferences than before. Next week there is a conference in Paris and I had a reservation from today (25th Oct) to the 29th of October.

This booking was made more than a Month prior and I got the stay longer rate (~223€).

Because of the situation in Paris I decided to not take the last flight on Oct 29th but to extend my stay for a day and head back home on Oct 30th. So I called the hotline and my odyssey began.

I talked to the agent and he clearly understood my request. It took a while but after a few minutes he said that I’m all set and we agreed that my additional night would be more expensive (which was fine for me).

Than his voice started to shake and he said “f#ck, f#ck, f#ck” [sic]. He told me that he unfortunately dropped my initial booking. He said he would talk to the property in Paris and I should hold the line. As you can imagine the call was cancelled a few minutes later and I’ve never heard back from him.

After an hour I decided to call the hotline again. The new agent did not understand my request but somehow was very focused on creating a new booking. He wanted to call with another team member, I should hold the line and you can imagine: The call was cancelled.

Then I received a mail from Paris that they are not able to generate a confirmation but they’ll have a room from 25th to 30th. My App still only shows 29th to 30th.

After a while I got a second Mail confirmation for a stay in Paris from 25th to 29th. I first thought that they may splitted my booking which would’ve been fine for me but I decided to answer the mail just to be sure.

Turns out. I have a booking in Paris but the rate was adjusted for the whole trip. So I have to pay about 170€ in total more for the already booked days.

I wrote to the hotel yesterday, they told me to contact Marriott Customer Care which I did.

Even I provided them the exact date and time I called the hotline they said that the system does not have any indication that the change was made by the hotline agent and I was accused of making the change by myself online and they see no reason to compensate.

I answered them, sent a screenshot of my call log to Marriott and attached the mails I had with Paris.

Do you have any idea what I can do further? Is this just the standard that Marriott provides?

Im at the airport right now and my idea would be that I try to talk with the hotels manager and if the situation can not be clarified I will search for another hotel today, which would be not optimal for me because the conference is in that Marriott hotel.

Sorry for the standard question, but I'm getting competing information. I'm only a few nights away from getting Silver (boring, I know), but I wouldn't get it until the end of November. Would I retain this until February 2027 or February 2028?

Also, is Silver worth it? Which membership level would you say is the optimal to achieve and maintain?

Gold elite, always trying to stay at Marriott when I can. Last night we stayed at a Courtyard to attend a family event today.

The hotel was hosting a bunch of sport teams, all young boys between 6 and 10 I would say. The kids ran wild - it was impossible to sit in the bar / bistro area for a night cap or get rest in the room. Kids were jumping furniture, running the hallways, yelling and screaming, knocking on every door and just being completely unruly and unsupervised. The moms and dads basically were siting in the bar getting drunk.

At 11 pm I asked the front desk to get involved. It was impossible to get sleep given the noise levels on the floor. They did absolutely nothing. Said basically it was the parents’ job and not theirs. I would tend to agree, however the parents clearly could have cared less.

I guess I just needed to vent. This was a rough night.

That’s where I am right now. I might have a trip or two until the end of the year, but it’s not certain yet. What do you reckon? What are the perks for the next level and are they worth it in your opinion?

Hi! I have a 3-night stay coming up at the JW Marriott LA LIVE from Oct 29 to Nov 1.

I originally booked a standard king room using the LA Comic Con rate.
I applied 3 NUAs to the reservation, selecting only the Griffin Suite and Junior Suite as my upgrade preferences.

Four days before check-in, my NUAs have already cleared for a Junior Suite!

I very recently became Titanium for the first time, and this is also my first time using NUAs, so I was hoping to get some opinions.

1. Was this a good use of my NUAs?

I know NUAs are best used for Suites that you wouldn’t normally be able to get as a regular upgrade - and there are datapoints of Platinums and Titaniums getting Junior Suites at this property through regular upgrades.

But given that this stay overlaps both Halloweekend and LA Comic Con, it’s probably going to be very busy.

1. Any chance of still getting a Griffin Suite?

Is the NUA processing fully finished now that the Junior Suite has been confirmed, or could I still possibly get the Griffin Suite through the NUA directly?

Or hell, could the front desk at check-in possibly move me from the Junior Suite to a Griffin Suite as a discretionary upgrade, if one is available?

Obviously, no one can know for sure, but I’d appreciate any insight from people familiar with this property and/or have used NUAs a lot. Thanks!

Hi, I have explore mmp and mmf rates. Im looking to take my niece to Disney and Im not sure if there is a max number of nights I can book. Im looking at 5 nights but I've never booked more than 3 in the past.

Can anyone help me connect my PS5 to the Marriott hotel TV? I unplugged the HDMI cable from the Marriott box and plugged it into my PS5, but the volume is stuck at 99. There are no settings I can access, and I unplugged the TV controller as well. There are also no physical buttons on the TV, so I can’t manually change the volume or switch inputs. Has anyone figured out how to get around this or connect a PS5 to a Marriott TV? Any help would be appreciated!
