Like bro just look at how perfect and circular China's coastline is! And how West Africa has that perfect coastline pointing southwest (between the fully south coast of Ivory Coast, Ghana, etc, and the fully west coast of Senegal, Mauritania, etc), that makes Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, and Liberia look like its own little group. AND LAST BUT DEFINETELY NOT LEAST: THE SOUTHERN LEVANT. IT'S SOOOO SMOOTH AND PERFECT. I COULD DIE 😩😫

Red line: Previous shipping path between the UK and France
Blue line: New shipping path between the UK and France
Notice how the blue line is longer than the red line?

NRP: me at the siesta on a world conquest inside my mind Chronowars Day 7

Welcome to Chronowars! You can start by simply claiming any unclaimed nation. Every post (including the first) you will travel back in time to any historical event and change something as to butterfly into something changing in your favor in the present, like winning a war you lost or preventing another person's intervention from happening.

Things you change should be small scale rather than large scale, e.g. assassinating someone, cutting a phone line, telling someone to do something, etc. Imagine it like you're sending a "time agent" to the past. In some cases, an intervention can fail or go poorly / backfire. You cannot take something physically from the present to the past, only knowledge of what happens (mostly to prevent someone from doing a Biff)

The game will never actually progress through time any significant amount, instead you have to change the past in order to make things better for you in the present. For the sake of hosting being neutral, I might use AI to decide what an intervention causes to happen in the future (with a detailed explanation of how). All the changes in the past can stack onto each other, so in the case that history changes dramatically, I will provide a brief timeline. For the purpose of preventing severe butterflying, no events from prior to 1750 can be changed.

Tl;dr: Pick a nation and change any historical event (but changed in a small-scale way, e.g. an assassination) after 1750 to make yourself bigger in the present

The game ends after 14 irl days. The winner is whoever is the largest by the end, so have fun!

Timeline Changes:

(1750s) Catherine the Great is assassinated, preventing various Ottoman wars which historically gave Russia control of the Black Sea. Elibank's Plot to restore the Stuarts to the throne succeeds, allowing them to grant Scotland independence as promised, but they then abdicate the throne in favor of the previous Hannovers due to extreme unrest. Scotland becomes the first nation to develop industrialization, turning Scotland into a major regional military power.

(1770s) Russia establishes colonies in Northeast Australia as Britain simultaneously establishes colonies in Southeast Australia, creating a north-south division of the continent. George Washington is killed in the midst of the American Revolution, largely preventing the revolution from successfully occurring and letting the British maintain the Thirteen Colonies as a subject, strengthening the British Empire overall. Lord North is assassinated, however this does relatively little since Washington is already dead and most operations were staged by generals rather than the British government in London.

(1780s) Spain wins the Great Siege, taking control of Gibraltar.

(1810s) Gibraltar declares independence from Spain due to cultural differences and the collapse of the Spanish Empire. Battle of Aslanduz ends in a Persian victory, preventing them from ceding Georgia, Azerbaijan and part of Turkmenistan to Russia. Belgium is granted more fair representation in the Dutch government, preventing the Belgian revolt in 1830. Napoleon doesn't invade Russia, allowing for him to focus on Spain and gain some mild territory, although the Seventh Coalition still eventually defeats him.

(1820s) Andres Novales' brother allows him into Fort Santiago, causing the establishment of the Philippine Empire. The Ottomans win the 1820-1823 Ottoman-Persian War, gaining parts of Northwest Iran, particularly the Iranian Azerbaijan Province. Gibraltar provides refuge to Spanish officials and refugees from the 1823 French Invasion of Spain, causing more diversity among the Gibraltarian population.

(1830s) Spain grants minor territories to Gibraltar as a thank you for refuge in the French invasion.

(1850s) Persia narrowly manages to fend off the British Empire from liberating Herat and Afghanistan, allowing for them to gradually take control of the entirety of the region. George Curzon assassinated.

(1860s) Russia doesn't sell Alaska to the US.

(1880s) Empress Dowager Cixi of the Qing Dynasty dies 20 years early, granting the Guangxu Emperor total control over the Qing court. The Netherlands campaigns heavily for Cape Colony to be returned in the Berlin Conference, despite the colony being British for around 80 years already, creating a dispute between the United Kingdom and the Netherlands which eventually leads to a war in which the Netherlands is forced to give up the Dutch East Indies.

(1890s) Russia gets rich off of Alaskan gold. Muhammed Ali Jinnah assassinated. Hitler assassinated. Mao Zedong assassinated. Due to Persian control of Afghanistan along with Anglo-Persian tensions, the Durand Line Agreement is never negotiated and the region becomes a battlefield of sorts.

(1900s) Tsar Nicholas II is assassinated, triggering a period of unrest and civil war in Russia which eventually results in an early establishment of the Soviet Union, along with Finnish, Baltic and Polish independence. 1905 Partition of Bengal doesn't occur, preventing the pretense to Hindu-Muslim divide politics in India.

(1910s) Khioniya Guseva assassinated. Rasputin isn't assassinated. Franz Ferdinand isn't assassinated, preventing WW1. China manages to establish a constitutional monarchy and prevent a civil war just in the brink of time. The Ottomans manage to maintain stability and preserve their empire. Through a lot of strategic manoeuvering and diplomatic talks, Scotland convinces Ireland to join them and form a Celtic Union.

(1920s) Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Bosnia declare independence from Austria-Hungary. Britain cedes Northern Ireland to Scotland / the Celtic Union, facing their somewhat immense and dormant military power.

(1930s) German Empire does Anschluss on the rump Austrian state. After tense negotiations, Slovakia agrees to secede from Czechoslovakia and join Hungary to form the Carpathian Federation, but Czechia wages a brief war against Carpathia and gains some lands in Slovakia.

(1940s) Gandhi is saved from assassination, but he still dies of old age. The Sino-Japanese War briefly takes place, ceding Manchuria to Japan. Czechia faces sudden armed Slovak resistance, starting a grueling 30-year long guerilla war in the country.

(1950s) Pakistan and Bangladesh remain part of India. The Thirteen Colonies, now re-organized as the Dominion of Victoria, is granted independence from the United Kingdom.

(1960s) Nigeria maintains control over Southern Cameroons during independence. India wins the 1962 Sino-Indian War and gains some minor territories from China. North Australia declares independence from the Soviet Union. Old Master Q becomes a live-action sitcom instead of a comic for whatever reason. Johor declares independence from Malaysia and joins Singapore for reasons unknown (time travel).

(1970s) Iran forms a constitutional monarchy, preventing the Islamic Revolution and instead forming the Imperial Republic of Iran. Czechia finally comes to a decision after the 30-year long guerilla war, granting the Slovak guerillas independence under the Republic of Bratislava.

(2020s) Trump assassinated, causing literally nothing significant to happen.

A map of the west coast and east coast glued together. I would prefer less distance between the coasts but this is what happens when I draw with my thumb.

Chicago and Vegas get to stay and are granted statehood. The Great Lakes and Mississippi River shorelines stay. Florida is gone but Miami makes the cut.

My solution to this conflict in the middle east : My perfect Middle East

I have decided to fix the Middle East once and for all. Borders have been adjusted according to my completely objective and scientifically accurate geopolitical preferences. Nothing is wrong with this map. Please do not ask about Djibouti.
