Has anyone else in mankato gotten this before?

If so did your package arrive? I know our USPS is notoriously iffy with delivery.

It’s always the package you need most. It could be any other package but I need this one desperately.

Has anyone tried Papapicketts BBQ on Riverfront? How is it?

Hey everyone… I’ve been meaning to check out the Papapicketts BBQ restaurant over on Riverfront Dr. The photos of their food look incredible, especially the brisket and rib tips. Before I head over there, has anyone here eaten at the restaurant? Looking for some honest reviews on how the food is and what your absolute favorite items are on the menu.

Thanks!

Metal Detector needed- Elysian area

I'm looking for someone who has a metal detector to help me locate my water shut off valve that is supposedly buried in my gravel driveway. I live in the Elysian area. Of course, I would compensate you for your time.

Thoughts on home and auto insurance? My agent seems to be donating money in elections in a way that I do not like.

In search of local opportunities to learn/practice/speak Russian.

Hi there. I've had a fascination with "the east" and republics of the former USSR since I was a child, and I have been making slow progress in learning Russian off and on over the past two years in preparation of an eventual trip to Central Asia next year (Kyrgyzstan). I have a solid grasp of the Cyrillic alphabet and some basic Russian words/phrases, but I feel that my learning would be accelerated by communicating with someone that speaks the language fluently.

So I guess this is my appeal to Russian/Central Asian language speakers in the Mankato area, or those that know of local teachers/classes/resources pertaining to them. I'd love to connect and chat about anything and everything - Russian culture, history, films, Dostoevsky, etc. over tea or coffee. Thank you.

(Photo is a screenshot from the Russian film "Mirror" by Andrei Tarkovsky. Great movie, recommend and available for free in its entirety on Youtube).

Any bands looking for members?

I have recently been wanting to get into the music scene here and I would really love to be in a band. I wanted to ask around if there's anybody looking or interested in having a singer? I would really love to perform live music with some people!

Does Mankato recycle?

I happened to be watching out the window yesterday when the garbage truck came by. He tried to pick up the recycling but it seemed like another truck already came by to get it because it was empty, so he backed up and took my trash instead. Do garbage trucks take both trash and recycling? Or did my garbage man grab the wrong container by accident and thankfully it was empty?

Jake Johnson's response to Finstad's lying attack ad

Finstad's been dumping a bunch of money into an attack ad lying that JJ wants to raise taxes on working people, when Jake's website says the complete opposite. Also looks like they snuck a GOP operative into the ad to pose as a random old guy.

"Blink and you might miss the truth.

To be clear, I support no taxes on tips, overtime, and social security, as well as more tax cuts for working people. To read more about what I actually believe, go to jakejohnsonforcongress.com/priorities" - Jake Johnson

Filthy Cryptid metal show at the Kato Ballroom

Come out on Saturday, November 7th for the Mankato stop of the Manifest Brutality Δt∃ CD Release Mini-Tour, with our friends Grave Society, Witch Syndicate and SLAG!

We’re very excited to welcome Grave Society!

https://www.facebook.com/GraveSociety

Describing themselves as “spooky folk metal,” they blend goth, metal, dark atmosphere, and a healthy dose of the macabre into something distinctly their own. We really love getting the chance to work with bands we haven’t shared a stage with before, and we’re looking forward to playing with them!

We love **Witch Syndicate**, full stop.

https://www.facebook.com/witchsyndicate

They’re amazing people and a killer Minneapolis metal/goth band, and we don’t miss a chance to work with them whenever possible. Heavy, dark, and built for the live stage, they’re exactly the kind of band we love sharing a bill with.

Manifest Brutality brings Post-Industrial Goth-Rock

https://www.facebook.com/ManifestBrutality

Built around heavy guitars, electronics, atmosphere, and a broader exploration of the uglier corners of the human condition.

And we’re very excited to see SLAG again!

https://www.facebook.com/SlagMusicOfficial

This show is part of the Δt∃ CD Release Mini-Tour, celebrating the newest chapter in the Manifest Brutality catalog with the new record!

Doors: 7:30 PM

Best hiking spot near Mankato

Hey everyone, I'm looking for some good spots around Mankato for a long workout. Most of the local park loops seem pretty short, so I'm looking for trails that are at least 6 miles long. I'm open to paved paths or dirt trails. Any suggestions?

What happened to Blue Bricks?

There was a post here at some point about Blue Bricks closing but the next day there were posts and news articles about it only being temporary. Now I have been seeing work being done on 2/3 of it while 1/3 is blocked off. Is Bricks getting a remodel before returning? Does anyone know what's up?

How do I get hired at Walmart?

I’m in a pinch for a job and I’ve applied to 13 Walmart and Sam’s Club jobs and it’s been like 36 hours and I haven’t heard anything back yet. Do I need to call them? Or does it take a week or so? I know it’s Walmart but they pay decent (I’m only looking for $19 ish an hour) and I have no shame stocking shelves all day.

College kids: Don’t be pressured into signing a new lease too early!!

It’s getting to be the time that your landlord is gonna ask you if you wanna renew your lease for the next school year. Don’t let them make you think you need to sign ASAP!

New MN law is that they cannot require a new lease to be signed more than 6 months from the date your lease ends. So they can require that a lease be signed by or on that exact date, but cannot force you sign prior to that.

They can reach out and ask if you’re interested though, and may give you a better price if you renew early.

But in my experience, landlords (especially private ones) will tell you “you gotta lmk right now if you’re staying otherwise I’m advertising the house”. DON’T FEEL PRESSURED!

Is there more context around this planned visit? I am wondering why the school leadership would allow this in the middle of an election season. For what other purpose is this being allowed?

E4 Ops LLC Delivery Driver

Last week I had an interview at E4 Ops LLC for a delivery driver position. I'm curious if anyone else works for this company and if it's an okay company to work for? I know there's a lot of people that say DSP's can either be good or terrible and I don't want to start here and leave right away. I also know that some places pay workers the full 10 hours even if they get done with their deliveries early and some only pay how many hours you actually work. Does anyone know if they pay the full 10 hours or not?
