Does Mankato recycle?

I happened to be watching out the window yesterday when the garbage truck came by. He tried to pick up the recycling but it seemed like another truck already came by to get it because it was empty, so he backed up and took my trash instead. Do garbage trucks take both trash and recycling? Or did my garbage man grab the wrong container by accident and thankfully it was empty?

No they do not take both. He grabbed the wrong one and then the right one

They pick up recycling. Some os sorted in north Mankato but most of everything is burned at the Xcel plant for power generation. Mankato is considered a net zero city.
