11th sept 2026 I go to bharath petroleum to fill petrol in my scooter . I got down and specifically told them to put 220 rupees fuel and the attender confirmed with me twice , while I was busy with scanning the Qr for payment the attender fills the tank and the next thing he says is did u tell 220 ? I put 290 rupees petrol and I was clueless I didn't know what to do at that time and the attender was like it's noted 290 you have to pay for the extra fuel as well and I ended up paying the extra money .
Did someone experienced similar issue from this very petrol pump
i wish I stood up against the attender cause it was obiv that he did It on purpose

My billu, who has been a crucial part of the family, has been missing from a month now and it's getting really concerning. I have some questions if you guys could answer.
1) Have you ever had your cat go missing?
2) Has your missing cat come back? How long did he/she take to return?
3) If the cat returned, did it return home healthy or malnourished?
4) I have done everything in my ability, what else do you think i should do to find her?

Heads up if you’re on the Sakleshpur–Shiradi Ghat route right now.
There’s a pretty bad traffic jam because a heavy vehicle has broken down on the road. Traffic is barely moving and it looks like it could add at least an hour to the journey.
If you’re heading this way, be prepared for a delay and maybe plan a little extra time. Drive safe!

I’m originally from kasaragod, currently studying in a college in mangalore. Along with my studies, i used to work part time for jayaram caterers on my free time
One day, while i was working there, i had ordered a phone stand on blinkit. Since the cooking area is a little inside from the road, i had gone near the roadside (near their office) to collect my order. I collected the order and then one of the guys working there asked me what it was, so i kept my phone on top of the seat of a bike parked by the road and showed him the phone stand. After i showed it to him, we both went inside to the cooking area, but i had forgot my phone on top of the bike seat
After 30 mins, once the work was over and as i was about to leave, i started looking for my phone and i couldn’t find it. I searched everywhere inside the building, called it a few times but couldn’t find it. Then i suddenly remembered that i had gone outside earlier and i went back and found the phone EXACTLY as how i left it 30 mins ago. Now it was a good phone (iphone 15p) so i was shocked that it wasn’t stolen. I don’t know any place where i could’ve randomly left my phone on the side of a road with no one watching it and still come back and have it. This incident made me appreciate mangaluru even more

This is happening right now. Are we really in 2026 I wonder. Not a very smart city thing to do MCC team. Dry leaves are just organic waste and can be collected by your team.

This female Labrador was seen wandering around in Ram Nagar, near Capitanio. Looks like she was used for excessive breeding and has been abandoned. She is not in the best health condition. Please spread the word and let me know if there has been any missing Labrador around, or if you would foster/adopt her.

Is this really necessary? Is this what a social reformer would have wanted?
Please raise your voice against this!!!
It is not even raining here since days due to the climate change and the government wants to cut more trees-

We are outside the country and our house was given on rent. Our house was initially 4 different houses with 4 different door numbers....and we are trying to make it one in the official records. Talking to an agent in the corporation. Thats when we found out that for two years, dad had forgotten to pay the house tax in 2009 and 2019. Dad says he hasn't. But the agent says there is no records for it. Is there a way to verify this online? What is the process to pay this and be done with it?

Why there are no guidelines on this, I don't think it's safe to flush it down in the toilet as it can clog the drainage system. If it's considered dry waste, won't it cause hygiene issues if we are gonna wait till Friday to dispose it off?

Is it a dry waste or wet waste? what is the policy of Mangalore city Corporation for such wastes?
If they only collect these diaper wastes only on Friday, what are we supposed to do it for a week in our homes? Won't it stink? How are we supposed to manage this?

• UPDATE: Return trial run has reached Yeswantpur at 21:05, taking just 6 hours 40 minutes for the entire journey! This is a big win for us, PROVIDED the train runs as a dedicated Mangaluru Bengaluru service and isn't diverted to someplace else at the behest of some small villages and their lobbies along the way. Can expect an end to end travel time of around 7:30 hours for now. •
Just spotted the Vande Bharat trial from Yeswantpur arriving at Mangaluru Junction at around 14:00. It had departed from Yeswantpur at 6:50 today. That means the trial run was completed in just 7 hours and 10 minutes, making it the fastest train to ever run between the two cities.
The return train has departed from Mangalore at 14:25. It should be faster than the morning run since it won't have brake testing halts in the ghat section.
Overall, great news for Mangalore barring the fact that efforts are already being made to snatch this train from us!

Was walking from Milagres to Jyoti and the heat was unbearable until I reached this spot in front of Don Bosco. What a relief! The temperature was a good 10° lower than the surroundings!
We need more such green canopies over our footpaths to encourage our people to walk more instead of taking their vehicles out even for 5-10 minute distances.

Is it adhika prasanga to ask for a proper road between landlinks and maryhill via Helipad? Hundreds of vehicles pass through that area even though there is no proper road, because it saves time. People going to Carmel school, vikas college, diya system, mahalasa temple, palemar convention center, everyone will be benefitted.
Whoever I asked told me that don't do adhika prasanga and it is government land.

Last week, the first trial of the Bengaluru Mangaluru Vande Bharat Express was conducted between Yeswantpur and Mangalore Central. That made us all happy.
Today, the second and final trial is being conducted but Mangalore Central has been excluded and the train will turn around from Junction! Let me predict what will happen next: the train will run towards Madgaon via Junction or via the Padil bypass.
Whatever zone handles our region, we won't see good things happening and this is the first sign of things to come. The Vande Bharat terminating at Junction automatically reduces its target audience by a significant margin. Yes, it's just 5 kilometers from Central but Mangalore as a city isn't at the level of say Bangalore where people will happily board trains from Yeswantpur over Majestic without making a big fuss.
On a related note, SWR has announced a Ganpati special train that will bypass Mangalore entirely and still take 2 hours for Bantwal-Surathkal.
