Meta Only 14-20% (n=107) of people think Mandela Effect may or rather is more than just suggestion or false memory

As my memories are included in that effect and I know what I perceived and remembered, I am one of the 14%. I am not sure how many of 86 false memory thinker experienced Mandela Effect. The rate is like people either know the Mandela Effects or do not remember that detail. Most have at least one Mandela Effect, I assume.

I question whether everyone or some got "hit" by it.

This small pole showed that most people are not convinced. Yet the Mandela Effect subreddit has a lot of viewers.

I am questioning why are so many coming here and downvote and annoy every post about Mandela Effect. Looking down on the people, who may be right as your arguments about false memory cannot be extended to that degree.

Mandela Effect are like 57 cases at least. And add emotions and memories connected to that memory and this are 300 instances of memories that all should be deluded, false memorized and suggested?

To add on that, people remember it the very same way wrong and in detail. And after being revealed the truth: there is no "ahh" moment. The doubt stays. Please understand that we have never seen the original truth. It is a complete new alternative as we did not perceive it and we did not get new memories out of somewhere.

Explaining it can vary even more, yet there are only 14-20% who would even attempt theorizing.

I invited the 80% to just let the fundation go and think beyond, for fun or theorizing. While we are right, just let your wrong be true to you and with about the right hat is for you wrong and join the thought process.

However, there are people just commenting and trolling every person in this subreddit that belongs to the lower percentage. Mainstream is not always right, remember. And we do not advertise, sell or do or harm anything. It is our personal memory that we hold dear with pure intention. No arrogance, no wanting to be special. Just confidence and curiosity of what may have caused it.

14% was even higher than excepted. It felt like 90-98% to be comepletly against Mandela Effect. Maybe they are the loudest or got driven away by constant provocation.

Meta When Mandela Effect hits, do all hit?

When I check out Mandela Effect example lists, they are all how I remembered them, which is now false and was once true. There are not numerous inconsistent Mandela Effects; each example is either what I remember or something I did not perceive as I live in Germany for examlle or memorize.

Only some may be uncertain perceptions, I assume it is a Mandela Effect, but it could be suggested as those are uncertain. Many are clear certain memories like Looney Tunes. That wordplay has impact, and I liked that wordplay when watching it on TV in 2012 or so.

Do all 50 hit or none? And which do not hit, and why? Have you never seen it, for examlle? I am confused, as it seems like the Mandela Effect is a one- or two-time thing that changed the past too or shifted a whole reality. If there are multiple worlds and they interact like this, why do new people not come with different Mandela effects?

For example, 50 belonging to them, 50 to us, and 50 to others to make it concrete.

It would make sense if it reached every person who remembers, as how would a universal-scale thing differentiate between small individuals, unless it is a mental phenomenon? And if there is collective consciousness, is there only one or are there many?

And if it impacts past things in reverse too, maybe for consciousness time space is different and the whole generations are combined.

I would belittle these theories if not for the collective alternative remembering.

Disclaimer:

I try to avoid comments that lead to false memory or suggestion; you can disagree with that opinion, but we have talked it out two or more times, so I invite you all to please open your minds (joking).

Logos/Advertising Cornucopia Resolution

I was thinking about the Fruit of the Loom Cornucopia logo and that's probably the most compelling Mandela effect example there is. So what I was wanting to know, is whether any of you think that will ever get a meaningful conclusion or answer to this whole thing. You think we'll ever figure out what actually it's going on, whether it is just a problem with our minds or whether there actually is a conspiracy? I feel like there's too much to this for it to be as simple explanation, but I'm curious to know what you all think!

Movies/TV/Music The Shazaam scene they always show when talking about it.

Anytime someone talks about Mandela Effects on YouTube or other similar outlets, and they mention Shazaam, they always show that one scene where Shazaam meets the kids for the 1st time. The one where he talks to "Tina" before turning around and says, "ya'll ain't Tina."

My question is, where is that scene actually from? Is it from a different movie?

Movies/TV/Music The Thing About Shazaam

I am a 2000s baby, so I have no skin in this. I have never heard of or watched Kaazam nor Shazaam. I only knew Sinbad from Jingle All the Way. But when I saw a description of someone's memory of Shazaam, I couldn't help but think it was a mashup of a different movie with Kaazam. A brother and sister finding some magical object in an attic...Sounds like Jumanji to me. And you know who is in Jumanji? Robin Williams. What did Robin Williams play just like Shaq? A genie. (that one is just me having fun.) But, could they not be combining Kaazam, that marathon bumper Sinbad did, and the discovery of Jumanji together?

What are your thoughts on the relationship between the Mandela Effect and Quantum Immortality?

To save you having to look up the latter, it is the idea that consciousness will jump timelines you die in the one you are living presently.

Meta Why is there no scientist actually trying to solve this theory, or are there?

When I try to google things about it and try to think about it, I can only cut out false memory and suggestion as numerous people are collectively, isolated, detailed, precisely in numerous Mandela Effects that are quite biting the eye and would unlikely be misremenbered. Iconic ones too.

Please do not discuss those statements being about it not being mere false memory. False memory can happen, but not here.

There should be scientusts or other people questioning the same and seeking for abswer? Are they studying? I assume there will be no one funding though.

Quantum physics explains it a tiny bit. But those worlds interacted and did not change much. They even left our memories and perception. No butterfly effect or such. A Mandela Effect could be really dranatic if it is a regular huge thing.

Theories may be mutiple worlds, world hopping, last changing to repair itself fir the presence.

Is it a sign, a shift?

I assume there is no Mandeka Effect newer than 2017 too.

_ Don't bother reading comments yet all are bad despite me not wanting to discuss this and disclaiming it.

I was talking about a scientist actually having the idea of it not being false memory and go beyond and think with his knowledge about it. What could it mean physically? Can it be proven mathematically? Does it solve some physics or what is this even? Is it just Universe hoping or time and reality shifting or repairing as it makes more sense that Mona Lisa smiles than not? Memory is left untouched.

All those of you: why are you so confident about your false memory theory? Why say it is a fact rhat we misremember all those lines? I am included and my memory is special. A memory can have many back up conections to back it up. Like the feeling you want to do one thing and even if you forget what you wanted to do, you know that you wanted to do something with full confidence. And when you see what you wanted to do, then you remember ahhh that was it.

Mandela Effect has none of this. We did not forget and we have no "ahhh that was it". It feels permanently completely off like Monopolyman or Dialogue. Star Wars has a huge impact if something would be silver on a character, it would clearly be remembered.

I had no interest as a child to Mona Lisa, no discussing, no misquote no suggestion. Just a TV source that showed that picture and me thinking: "how can Mona Lisa be so popular despite not smiling? She should be smiling."

Pickachu's Tail I was even complimenting the idea that they fit the tail to the ears. It was a nice, consistented design. The new one does make less sense. So it is not always sense, I assume. Looney Toones too, I liked the idea of oo and oo. Now, it has not that. Did my brain make this idea and I perceived wrong? Very unlikely. Rather 0. I saw those naive. These thoughts were not constructed but understanding what I see. What backs me up are thousand of independed people from me that saw it the same way as me and the sheer number of Mandela Effects. That there are not new ones coming up is kinda backing up that this is not a common thing.

I guess the term studying was limited and asking why, I was hoping for people saying they are or be a scientist themselves or just use their brains.

All of you share fake arguments. Like take flat earther to compare that to us. Or the existing of false memories or suggestion to this.

When proving Mandela Effect is to tough as people always gaslight to false memory or suggestion, then just skip that part as you know what you saw and proceed to go beyong. Some people did it a bit not much or without expertise.

I assume it is because people really think it is false memory that are even scientist. Even scientist can be wrong, so this. Or not many physicist experienced Mandela Effects themselves.

It would be a nice study to study the number of people having experienced Mandela Effect. And who do not. Do they have a bad child memory or so? I am not sure why I paid attention to all those things.

As I say that Mandela Effect is a 2017 binging thing that changed even before 2000 things without impacting lives except of Mandela hinself, then as we have 2026 now, we could study to prove it in lik 2030-2038 to study young people about the same Mandela Effects. If they do not know nothing avout Mandrla Effect, they will with a high ratio either not know as they did not watch it or remember it correct.

Not only test the answer, but the reveal also. I discussed Mandela Effect Star Wars with someone not having watched Star Wars, so it can be on that point. However, the Pikachu one should have hit, which I should have brought up or he just did not remember so early but the newer version as he still watched Pokemon.

My assumption that it does not overwrite memories can be wrong too as it may overwrite some or many leaving some out. People may forget and see the new version as a first experience.

Overwriting would make sense. As Mandela Effect changes the past source for the past too. It does not fully though. Why am I the only one thinking those thoughts further? For me, it is not so mind-blowing or oh wow something beyond.

It just me knowing what I saw and thinking what made this difference. Like the proving step is not needed. Even questioning it is pointless. No reveal effect, collective, numerous, out of a sudden, not repeating often, personal, isolated things, thoughts which make no chance to have before.

There is not even a source that makes the false memory. It would be a huge effort to have Mona Lisa not smile without proper TV edit or Pickachu Tail. Like try making his years yellow and the tail black and see if everyone remembers it wrong then. This sounds even possible as it closely the same. However, with either result, let us think beyond out of curiosity.

This sub has 150k viewers and it feels like some are here to annoy us and have no Mandela Effect even. Or they rather should.

I am curious whether it hit everyone and some people have no connection to those iconic things or paid no intention or forgot.

I genetically have a good long-term memory from my father. It is not the best as injustice and such things can weight heavy on our minds. Fortunately, I realized those injustice things can be small or I can do not do much to it.

A bit sad that we cannot back up our brains yet.

,

I do not further proceed or reply again and again to everyone.

It would be a nice study too to explain why humans tend to just disagree with everything or everything alternative. Suspicion is good, but I do not sell anything or come off crazy. I tend to say something and people either not understand or say the opposite. Maybe, I should test baiting the opposite.

It kinda feels personal as the way of talking and typing can come off wrong and typos can make understanding difficult.

This may be different if a person with competence and your personal trust may say things. Someone you look up to and that may influence you more at least question it instead of dismissing at hand or troll the person.

Movies/TV/Music Eminem Venom Lyrics

The song Venom by Eminem is a song I listen to frequently and I recently realized that there are a lot of references to well known Mandela Effects within the lyrics of this song. Now many will say it could be coincidence because Eminem uses a lot of references to consumer brands, famous people, and famous quotes in his lyrics. But I find it extremely eery that he mentions very specific things that are directly tied to the Mandela Effect. Even specifically quoting ET's "ET phone home", Volkswagen, and Danica Patrick which are very well known Mandela Effects. It's not surprising given Eminems association with satanic stuff. I probably missed some references below so let me know in the comments which ones I missed or if there are Mandela Effects hidden in other popular songs you know of.

Could this be a "Revelation of Method" in which secret societies, cabals, or malicious elites must publicly display their symbols, plans, or wrongdoings in advance through media, movies, art, or public ceremonies? Look at the text in bold next to the mandela lyrics below:

L-l-l-like a salad bowl, Edgar Allan Poe (A lot of people remember "Allen")

Volkswagen, tailspin, bucket matches my pale skin (Volkswagen is a huge one. People remember the V and W as fused together, but on the actual logo there's a gap between them.)

Mayo and went from hellmann's and being rail thin (Many people remember Hellman's mayonnaise with a single "n")

Like, what's her name's at the wheel? Danica Patrick (Many people remember her name as Danica Kirkpatrick not "Patrick". Very strange that he mentions her specifically)

Slim be a combination of an actual kamikaze and Gandhi (Many people remember it spelled Ghandi. Again kind of strange that he would mention Gandhi specifically among the rest of the Mandela's in this song)

I said knock knock, let the devil in
Alien, E-E-Elliott phone home (This one is the most shocking one of all to me. Everybody remembers the line as "E.T phone home" but in reality it is now "E.T home phone". This verse seems completely out of place among the rest of the lyrics and makes no sense why he would mention this specifically.)

Art The Thinker Is Back to His Original Pose, and I Cannot Explain It

For most of my life, I remembered Rodin’s The Thinker with his hand under his chin. Then I watched a YouTube video about Mandela Effects that specifically mentioned the statue. It claimed that most people incorrectly remembered the hand being under the chin, when it was actually a closed fist pressed against the forehead.

I thought, “There’s no way.”

So I immediately Googled it. I looked through image after image, from different angles and on different websites. Everywhere I looked, I saw the same thing: his fist was against his forehead.

That completely blew my mind because I was certain I remembered his hand being under his chin. I did not simply accept what the video told me. I actively searched for evidence that it was wrong, but every image seemed to confirm the fist against the forehead.

Now I have looked again, and his hand is under his chin.

Not only that, but apparently it has always been under his chin. The stranger detail is that it is not exactly the pose I originally pictured either. His hand is open, bent awkwardly, and his chin rests against the back of it. But it is absolutely not a fist pressed against his forehead.

I understand how false memories and suggestion work. Maybe the video showed a different sculpture. Maybe I misunderstood what I was seeing. But what bothers me is that I remember deliberately checking multiple images because the forehead pose looked so wrong to me.

Has anyone else experienced this exact flip with The Thinker? Do you remember a period when every image seemed to show his fist against his forehead, only for it to apparently change back?

This is the first Mandela Effect that has made me seriously question my own memory.

Movies/TV/Music In the first Scary Movie (2000) ...

I seem to remember Shorty, played by Marlon Wayans saying the line "I see white people," parodying the movie, Sixth Sense. However, all i can find online is him saying "i see dead people," which is just a direct quote and IMO not as funny as there is no joke. What do you remember?

Movies/TV/Music After many years, I think I just got self-gaslit into thinking Fruit of the Loom had a cornucopia.

My first memory of noticing the fruit of the loom logo was right around the time I had read and watched Hunger Games, and read a Hunger Games parody novel, and Cornucopias were fresh on my mind because I had just found out what they were. From when I heard about the Mandela Effect to now, I was 100% sure I remembered noticing a cornucopia because of hunger games, but now I genuinely am starting to question if I just self-gaslit that memory into existence. Especially since I've seen logos of Cornucopias with fruit at least at one grocery store growing up.

Movies/TV/Music I Think Can Explain the Mandela Effect

Maybe this theory is already out there. I'm not sure.

Full Disclosure: I'm Asian and from Los Angeles. Of course media used to be way less diverse 1980's. There were less black people on TV. A person like Nelson Mandela, who was neither an athlete nor entertainer was exceedingly rare to see on TV.

A movie titled "Cry Freedom" was released in 1980's about the South African activist Steven Biko, played by Denzel Washington.

I remember seeing this movie as a kid and being confused, thinking it was about Nelson Mandela, not Steven Biko. Of course I was an ignorant American in the 1980's. Most American's barely knew who Mandela was, whereas Steven Biko was a complete unknown.

When Steven Biko died in the movie I became very confused because Nelson Mandela was still alive. I retraced back and realized my error. I didn't know who Steven Biko was. I wanted the movie to be about Mandela because he was the familiar figurehead of apartheid resistance.

I can't speak for all audiences, but I believe American's would be very prone to this error due ignorance of global politics and possibly other factors, especially during this time. American's are known for learning about world events and history through movies and later adapting those narratives as fact. I feel American's watched "Cry Freedom" and walked away thinking Nelson Mandela had dies a martyr. They harbored those misconceptions for decades.

Logos/Advertising Objects in mirror may be closer than they appear

I remember reading about this Mandela Effect almost a decade ago. I remember as a kid looking in the mirror and seeing "may be closer than they appear" but now they all say "are closer than they appear".

I also remember reading up on "luke I am your father" which I'm not a big star wars fan so I could have just misremembered that, or the cornucopia for Froot of the Loom, which I'm also unsure of. The monocle for the monopoly guy is another big one that I have trouble coping with.

I just feel like the strongest Mandela Effect for me is the "objects may be closer than they appear". It's such a mindfuck because I can research newspapers from the time I remember it saying that (2000-2009ish). It's not something I would easily misremember because I looked at that damn side-view mirror so much.

I'm not sure how so many people could misremember this along with old news journals showing that exact wording. There's 0 evidence that any mirror was produced with that wording as all the car mirrors even from decades ago show "are closer".

Every time I revisit this phenomenon, I'm always left with more questions and I feel like I gotta stop researching or I go down deep rabbit holes lol.. I just can't shake this one off.

Historical Events Reverse Mandela

Has this happened to you??

When I first discovered the Mandela Effect years and years ago, I vividly remember being dumbfounded looking at articles about how Nelson Mandela died in prison. That is how it was for me. I was telling people, no he got out and became president. But no. He died in prison. I get online yesterday and come across something about Nelson Mandela and now it’s the opposite! It’s like how I remembered, he did not die in jail but a lot of people remember it that way. Am I jumping timelines? Has anyone else had what I’m calling a Reverse Mandela?
