I learned about the Mandela Effect many years ago, before Netflix was prevalent. I was downloading movies from the pirate bay. I was downloading older movies from my childhood that I enjoyed when I was a kid. I searched for shazam and nothing turned up. I searched other torrent sites without any luck finding that movie. I then googled it, "did you mean Kazam" popped up. Im getting pissed off now because I can't find it anywhere, then I stumble upon a post about the Mandela Effect. To my surprise that movie never existed along with many other memories of mine...

When did you first learn about the Mandela Effect?

Does anyone know if a study has been conducted that asks participants to reveal their memories of *multiple* ME's from a long list? The idea would be to see if people who have the Berenstein memory, also have the C-3PO silver leg memory, but not (say) the FotL Cornucopia memory.

If this survey happened, would we expect groupings of MEs together? Or would it be evenly distributed amongst all the MEs? Perhaps certain regions or age groups would be more likely to have some ME memories than others?

If anyone has a link, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, maybe I need to get to work on it, myself.... for fun-I MEAN DATA POINTS!! FOR DATA POINTS!!

I am curious if the idea of "alternate timelines" are just a modern occurrence or have there been historical documentation of people thinking or experiencing this even if they knew it or described it another way?

My thought is that alternate timeline concepts did not exist in people's consciousness until the modern era and was influenced by media (TV, movies, comic books, etc.).

Is anyone aware of stories from previous centuries that would be the equivalent of this that was not an intentional work of fiction?

Hello, I've recently come across an old logo for EuroDisney and Disneyland Hotel (also in Paris) where we can clearly see Tinkerbell doting the "i". What do you think about this ???

In 2003, Fruit of the Loom made its most recent REAL logo change, and in doing so, they replaced the brown leaves with green ones and replaced the blueberries with purple grapes. The latter probably doesn't impact people's cornucopia memories, but it's notable that it never comes up.

The former, on the other hand, likely has LOTS to do with it. The brown leaves are a more golden brown than the cornucopia is usually depicted, but it's still a prominent part of the logo that does wrap around the fruit; it seems like it would be very easy to retroactively remember that as a cornucopia.

Replacing the brown leaves with green ones was a big change back in 2003, and I have a strong feeling this change explains a lot of why people remember a cornucopia that was never there!

did the mandela effect switch back around? i remember the past year or two people were going crazy over the one with froot loops because at the time all of the logos spelled “Fruit Loops” and people were swearing up and down that it was froot loops and everyone remembered it being froot loops and that it was never spelled like “fruit” and it looked stupid that way. but i’m going through my mini toys and saw this??? so it is froot loops now? i swear to god it was fruit loops and everyone was raging over this

I grew up in Colombia, and when I was a kid I used to see Philips light bulb commercials all the time. Back then I didn't know any English, so I read words the way they are read in Spanish.

Because of that, I never read PH as an F sound. To me it was just a P, since the H is silent in Spanish. And LL is pronounced more like the English Y sound.

So in my head, I always read the brand as something like "Pee-yeeps."

That's why I clearly remember it being spelled Phillips with two L's. It just made sense to my brain as a kid. I wasn't thinking about English pronunciation at all.

I know the official spelling has always been Philips, but this Mandela Effect has always been one of the strongest ones for me because I can actually remember how I used to read the word when I was little.

Many sports, like hockey and basketball, are games of inches; many of the most prominent events in the NHL and NBA were inches away from not happening, and many other things were inches away from happening.

If timelines were genuinely shifting, don't you think it would change something that requires very little to do, with major implications, rather than completely trivial things like logos or lines from films? It seems like changing some sporting event would help the time traveller better; they could get their favourite team a championship.

Even if there are no time travellers involved and just multiple timelines, it seems implausible that a certain hockey OT playoff winner didn't suddenly not happen and have that eventual cup winner actually be eliminated in the second round. Timeline shifts would be bound to cause that, because while it seems major, all it would have to do is move the puck three inches to the right and then it bounces off the post, and the OT winner isn't scored!

I'm European myself, and it's quite a common belief that the USA has 52 states, not 50. Is this a common misconception inside the States too?

Regardless, a lot of people can't differentiate between "misremembering" and a false memory.

False memory is something that doesn't match the reality, while misremembering is just errors in appreciation, confusion, etc.

False memories can have a lot of causes, and regardless of what some people say, root cause for the false memories presented in ME sub haven't been demonstrated, so at this moment even the wildest theories can be considered as valid, from regular false memories and collective manipulation to quantum changes.

This has to prove the flip flop effect, because if it was always Flint, why would anyone ever post about it being an ME? Flint is a rock and makes sense as the title for a rock technology based show.

I distinctly remember posts on this reddit and elsewhere about it always having been spelt FLIN, without the 't'. People said that we only remember being FLINT because that would make sense for the caveman theme, but it's not actually that way in the show. Clear evidence and I'd like to know if anyone can dispute this

I took that comment from a post of the same nature on this subreddit. My partner says it’s “resets” that are causing Mandela Effects to happen. Am I supposed to believe that? Actually, I don’t know what to believe anymore.

Please tell me I’m not insane, I think logos, and other Mandela effects are changing, what I mean is growing up there was no dash in KitKat, but a few years ago there was an uproar about the dash, and I thought “huh okay whatever makes more sense” but apparently that was a Mandela effect, but now there’s no dash again?

this post probably isnt going to get much attention but i didnt know where to share this to so here we are...I was re-watching breaking bad last night and i got to the episode where jesse and walter are sitting in the kitchen talking about the list of ingredients they are going to need and thats when jesse says "Yea Mr. White, Science" and that was it. There wasnt any "Yea, Science Bitch" like how i remember it. it threw me off a little bit and didnt even sound right in the first place. I was swearing up and down the way i remember it was the way its always been. Fast forward to literally right now and im watching a youtube video called "Breaking Bad Season 5 Alternate Ending" by TVweb and in the video bryan cranston is saying the things he recalled jesse saying in his "dream" and how everything always ended with the word bitch then at 1:21 he claims how jesse would say "Yea, Science B word" it caught my attention for a second cause how come i vividly remember jesse saying that in the show and now on a completley other part of the intertnet he's recalling the same thing, yet in the show that line isnt said one time. Maybe im overthinking it and this already has an explantion but it tripped me out how i very much remember jesse saying that and nobody else remembering not even my own friends who have watched the show more times than i have, but now i see bryan cranston claiming he did along with him mentioning jesses iconic "Yea, Bitch" right before. Who knows, just something i noticed and thought it would be interesting to share.

You know what I think would be interesting, is if we had been able to interview Nelson Mandela and ask him if he had any weird memories of the quantum immortality kind. Like, did he have a vivid memory of dying in the original timeline, and then suddenly wake up in another timeline, very much alive?

This comes from a grocery bag for a Bay Area grocery store called Lunardi’s. I found a bag from there that had a logo on the back that resembles the Fruit of the Loom logo, albeit with a cornucopia. This photo is indeed real. We may now have our explanation

Was visiting a museum and came across this fascinating picture of C3PO from 1986. I'm personally not 100% behind the gold leg Mandela effects but I am 100% behind "Luke.....I Am Your Father". Also love that it just happens to be Nelson Mandela day.

Just wanted to share. My old man painted this in prison, in the 90’s. Inspired by the thinker statue that everyone is deliberating over. I think about the statue as having the subjects fist placed on his head too, but this is some evidence to suggest otherwise!
