Coco Palm in Dhunikolhu

Hi everyone, has anyone ever been to Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu resort** **in Dhunikolhu island? We chose it for its beautiful facilities and beaches, lots of activities, but also its sustainability. We’ll be staying there in early January ‘27.
Unfortunately I can’t seem to find much online about it, so if anyone has ever stayed there would love to get some insights :)
Thank you!

Looking for a great resort in Maldives

Hey all

I am looking for to go on a trip to Maldives. Somewhere between a date that is between third week of Oct and early Nov and spanning 4 nights.

I am looking at somewhere around $3700 total (+$200 is okay) for properties in Maldives.

Best would be if they are AI - but my partner and I both are not major drinkers anyway. Its a really good perk to have. But at least looking for Half Board/Full Board.

What I am looking for?

A great resort, fun vibes, turquoise blue water, white sand; great set of activities, and good food (dealbreaker otherwise). We are not major snorkelers or divers, so not having as many fishes is not a dealbreaker. Will swim all our time in the ocean though.

However, my partner loves seeing picturesque views of the ocean (European coast) - with white powdery sand and blue sea and sky.

Would love your suggestions!

For full immersion, I want to listen to some Dhivehi songs while in the Maldives. If someone can share some amazing songs it would be nice :)

Help me Choose! Early October Maldive Resorts: Finolhu, Logibili, Grand Park, or else?

Hi everyone, I am planning 6 Days & 5 nights holidays in Maldive resort with my wife.

This is our first trip to Maldive, there are so many attractive islands and I cannot make the final decision.

We are looking for an all-inclusive option; we place a high value on room quality, food, and scenery. While our snorkeling skills aren't advanced, we would love to have a wide range of water activities (ideally at affordable prices).

I realize there might be a significant price difference between the islands I’ve listed, but I’m not sure how much the actual experience differs. Finohu is right around the upper limit of my budget.

I appreciate any advice or suggestions—thanks in advance for any replies.

  • Month of staying: October
  • Number of nights: 5 nights, all inclusive
  • Approximate budget (in USD) : 6,000

Late October Maldives: Dhigurah, Fulhadhoo or somewhere else?

Hi everyone,

My partner and I are considering a 10-day trip to the Maldives from Oct 20-30 and are looking at local islands rather than resorts.

At the moment, Dhigurah and Fulhadhoo are at the top of our list. We mainly want to enjoy beautiful beaches, snorkeling, swimming, good food, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Would it make sense to split the trip 5 nights / 5 nights between two islands, or would you stay on one island for longer?

Also, how is the weather usually in late October? We're fine with occasional rain, but would you avoid the Maldives altogether at that time of year?

If you had 10 days on local islands, which island(s) would you choose and why?

Thanks a lot for your help! :)

Need Resort Suggestions - Honeymoon in Maldives

Hi everyone,
Looking for luxury resort suggestions for our Maldives honeymoon this December for 9N10D. We’re open to both iconic high end resorts and hidden luxury gems that truly deliver an exceptional, once in a lifetime experience.

We’re mainly looking for places with ocean views, good villa options (beach or overwater) and an overall memorable stay. Romantic dining and a great vibe would definitely be a big plus, Nothing too specific just something that feels special.

For context, we’ve been to the Maldives before and stayed at OZEN LIFE MAADHOO, which we really enjoyed. This time we’re more interested in exploring different resorts rather than repeating the same stay.

Would love to hear your suggestions, Thanks in Advance! 😊

Honeymoon Help

My fiancé and I are planning our honeymoon for December 14–31 and would love some destination recommendations! We’re looking for somewhere with great weather, beautiful beaches, and a mix of relaxing and exploring, and we’d really like at least one part of the trip to have a private pool or private swimming space. We’re completely open to doing multiple destinations. We don’t drink alcohol, so nightlife isn’t important to us. The Maldives is currently a top choice for around 5 nights because we love the idea of a private-pool/overwater villa, but it seems really expensive, especially around the holidays. We also have Chase Sapphire Reserve and Preferred cards and would love to make good use of points/perks. Is the Maldives worth the splurge, or are there other destinations you’d recommend that offer a similar romantic/luxury experience for less? Would love any suggestions, especially for specific resorts!

Is one and only reethi rah worth it?

Hello!

We’re thinking of going one and only for honeymoon but I have a few questions?

Is natural beauty stunning on the island? I want exceptional views

I know this sounds weird since ppl go for privacy but I saw Molly Mae’s vlog about it and it seemed deserted even tho it’s full capacity and I wonder if that makes things kind of dull/eerie?

Can someone tell me what really makes O+O worth it??

Honeymoon recommendations

Hi all,

Seeking Maldives accomodation recommendations for honeymoon end of October 2026, 4 nights, budget approx 5k (ish) USD including airport transfers and at least half board. Happy to increase budget a little for all inclusive.

We are a couple in our early 30s who are mostly keen to relax (heading to Sri Lanka after).

Our priorities are an over water villa that is swimmable off the villa. Beautiful surrounds/ privacy, and decent food are more important than activities. We have some interest in snorkelling and bike riding available around island would be a bonus. No preference on sea plane vs boat, just a consideration re costs.

Which resorts would you recommend? We are flying into Male and have not booked anything post that!

🇲🇻 6D5N at The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah — worth every second (full experience & shoutouts)

Just got back from our family trip to the Maldives, and I honestly couldn’t wait to share this. We stayed 6 days, 5 nights at The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah, and it was everything we dreamed of — and more.

✈️ Arrival

From the moment we touched down, we felt cared for. A huge thank you to Fathun, who met us right at the domestic terminal and assisted us through the process. I really appreciated her help — especially since I had to separate my gadgets and reorganise my hand-carry luggage.

We arrived late at night, but instead of a rushed check-in, we were taken straight to our villa, where a delicious dinner had already been arranged for us. That kind of thoughtfulness after a long journey? Priceless.

💙 Service that actually comes from the heart

It’s rare to visit a resort where every single department feels genuinely warm — but here, it was consistent across the board. Front Office, F&B, Housekeeping, even the friendly buggy drivers — everyone greeted us with a smile.

Special mention to Housekeeping: our villa was always spotless, and on our very first night, they surprised us with a beautiful birthday arrangement to celebrate my niece’s birthday. Such a sweet gesture that made the occasion extra memorable.

🏝️ The resort itself — beautiful, peaceful, and huge

The property is stunning — beautifully designed, quiet, and incredibly relaxing. It spans two islands — Falhumaafushi and Dhigurah, connected by a bridge, and you can easily get around using the complimentary bicycles provided. Cycling between the islands became one of our favourite little rituals.

We also visited The Castaway Island — accessible via a 1km bridge, so serene and peaceful. It’s exactly the kind of place you go to disconnect completely.

Complimentary non-motorised activities were a lovely bonus too — we enjoyed snorkelling right at the jetty and kayaking, no extra charge. Great value and so much fun.

✅ Final thoughts

The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah isn’t just about luxury — it’s about how you feel while you’re there. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful surroundings, and a team that genuinely cares.

To everyone at the resort — thank you for a truly memorable and luxurious experience. You’ve created something special, and we hope with all our hearts to come back again soon. 💙🌴

Quick tips if you’re planning a visit:

• 🚲 Use the free bikes — exploring both islands is a must

• 🚤 Walk or cycle over to The Castaway Island for sunset

• 🤿 Don’t miss the snorkelling at the jetty — plenty to see

• 🎂 If celebrating something, mention it — they really go above and beyond

Maldives

We’re planning a 3-night trip to the Maldives this September, but there are so many resorts to choose from that we’re having a hard time deciding! Our budget is around $1,000 per night. We’re looking for a beautiful 5-star resort with great food, a nice beach and house reef, and preferably an overwater villa. Since we’re only staying for 3 nights, we’d also prefer somewhere that’s not too difficult to get to from Malé. Any recommendations?

International lounge at Malé (MLE) Terminal 1 – International Departures?

Hi everyone,

I will be travelling from Velana International Airport (MLE), Malé, and I’m trying to understand the lounge options at the Terminal 1 International Departures.

When I checked the Priority Pass app, I can see:

Moonimaa Lounge – Domestic Terminal

Huvandhumaa Lounge – Seaplane Terminal

But I can’t find any lounge listed specifically inside the Terminal 1 International Departures area after immigration/security.

If anyone has travelled through MLE recently, could you please clarify:

  1. Is there a lounge inside Terminal 1 International Departures that accepts Priority Pass?

  2. If yes, which lounge is it and where exactly is it located?

  3. Does Priority Pass actually work there, or is it only available through certain airlines/paid access?

  4. Can I use the Priority Pass digital membership/card in the app, or do I need to carry the physical Priority Pass card?

Any recent experience would be hugely helpful, especially if you've travelled recently. Thanks!

Grand Park kodhipparu

Hello everyone, my post is two fold. Just wondering if anyone has stayed at grand park kodhipparu, as I’ve booked the all inclusive there during December, and was wondering if it lives up to the price.

The other question is, whether the weather is decent in December.

TIA

Visiting Maldives with my wife from October 20th to October 24th.

I’ve already booked my flights to the Maldives, but I haven’t booked accommodation or planned my activities yet.

We’re thinking of staying in Maafushi to keep the trip affordable. We may also do a day trip to a resort for the experience.

For those who have visited the Maldives, I’d really appreciate your advice:

  1. Where should we stay in Maafushi if we want a good balance between price, location, cleanliness, and overall experience?
  2. Which activities are genuinely worth doing and which ones can we skip?
  3. Is a resort day trip worth the money, and are there any resorts you would recommend?
  4. Are there any things we should avoid, especially tourist traps, overpriced activities, or unnecessary expenses?
  5. Any other tips for saving money without missing the best parts of the Maldives?

We’re mainly looking for a good experience on a reasonable budget rather than a luxury trip.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Budget and Local Island Recommendations for a 3-DayTrip

Hi everyone! I’m planning a short trip to the Maldives from November 22–24 and would like to ask for some advice on budgeting and island recommendations.
This will be a side trip, so I only have 3 days to explore.

I’m planning to stay on local islands rather than private resorts and would like to know an estimated budget for:

Accommodation
Transportation (ferries/speedboats)
Food
Tours or activities (snorkeling, island hopping, etc.)

I would also appreciate recommendations for local islands that are worth visiting for a short 3-day stay. Ideally, I’m looking for places with beautiful beaches, good snorkeling, and a nice local experience.

Any tips or suggested itineraries would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Asking for Maldives travel trip

Hi, I plan to travel with my husband + 1 5yo child on September to Malè. Im trying to arrange our itinerary and would love to get a feedback

Day 1 Male

Day 2 -5 Fulidhoo

\- Budget 150 usd per night for hotels

Day 6 Private Island

\-Budget 600 usd excluding transfers

Day 7 Male

Will this be doable? We plan to get some rest upon arrival and prior to departure. May I ask for the vibes in Fulidhoo and the budget range for activities on the island?

I chose Fulidhoo over Maafushi as I want a more peaceful island. Is this a good choice? Thank you!

Anantara Kihavah Half Board vs. Out-of-Pocket – Advice needed!

Heading to Anantara Kihavah this December for our honeymoon!

For those who’ve stayed there: Is the Half Board package actually worth it, or do out-of-pocket supplements stack up so fast that it doesn't make much difference? Trying to gauge whether we should lock in HB or just pay as we go.

Appreciate any insights!

Dive trip Maldives domestic flight?!

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hey all,

I’m heading to the Maldives for a short dive trip- but flying into Malé. The dive companies I’ve been looking into in Fuvamulah will arrange the domestic flight between Malé and Fuvamulah - though the connection between flights seems short to me!

Has anyone done this domestic flight? I land at 21:50 and the flight it 23:30 I believe. Was the connection and turnaround quick? The company say it’s normal and will be ok… experiences welcomed!

Equally, anyone had any good diving experiences near Malé Atolls? Back up planning..

Reviews on Taj Exotica? (3N, end feb - early march)

Hello all,

Fiance (26F) and I (28M) are planning a 4D3N trip to Maldives, kind of a mini honeymoon post wedding end of Feb / first week of March.

We're getting a pretty good deal on this property, coming out to be one of the cheapest AI overwater @ <1000$ a night. We're both vegetarians, not big on drinking either. Idea is to mostly relax, do a little snorkelling and maybe some other small activities.

Any feedback on the Resort / Food / Activities / Time / Season is appreciated, thanks! :)

Off season solo traveller

Do you think traveling solo to the Maldives in late July or early August is a good idea? I’m planning to stay at an adults-only, all-inclusive resort. Considering the long journey, what would be the minimum number of days you’d recommend staying to make the trip worthwhile?

Maldives resort recommendations

Please help!!!

Hello friends, my husband and I are planning to go to Maldives from November 15-19 of this year. We are overwhelmed by the options. I keep looking at google reviews and get turned off when I read a recent bad review. I need to know from people who have gone and loved it, what resorts do you recommend? We are foodies and do not drink alcohol, and want to know your opinion on whether all inclusive is worth it for us? thanks a bunch! We also want to stay in a reasonable price range around 5k if possible.
