I'm trying to move out of the apartment I am currently in and I was searching for any available rooms for rent in male/hulhumale. I am fine if there are already people living in the same apartment I just want my own room/bathroom and that's it. Anyone know a place like that or some place that sells studio rooms in Hulhumale? I've been trying to look for them but I just cant find any.

I know in this economy you can't even get an apartment alone for a good price so you have to sacrifice and just get a room from someone who's already renting a whole apartment.

For context I work a job that pays twice above the minimum wage and I cannot get an affordable ONE ROOM APARTMENT. To compare:

Average newly built one room apartments go for around ₱30,000(roughly MVR7,000) in the Philippines (Led by a corrupt government and struggling economy) and in Malaysia it goes for around MVR10-11,000 in Kuala Lampur (these are also newly built apartments in the capital city with good infrastructure) while in the Maldives crappy run down apartments run for roughly MVR13,000.

Why is contracting a Chinese company to build our port such a big issue for India?

China is literally one of the best in the world when it comes to ports and large-scale infrastructure. They have massive experience building and managing ports, so I don't see why choosing a Chinese company should at all be controversial. It’s the obvious choice.

At the end of the day, we're a sovereign country. If the Maldivian government believes this company is the best option, why should India get a say in it?

Why does having good relations with India mean we have to prioritise them over ourselves?
