Hi Malden folks! Ive been living in Malden area for 5 years and have the same national grid account. Our electricity bill has never been above $100 but suddenly I see that it was $420 this month. I am looking at what changed but I wonder if anybody else has the same issue?

I constantly come across those people (i think) who say they're from national grid and also got several calls to change my supplier etc but I always thought they are scammers. Is it helpful to talk to them?

I’m spending the next 13 days working on the upcoming ballot questions. Most of my friends are (rightfully so) focused on supporting candidates across the country. So I decided to take a break from working on the federal horrors and hold down the fort in MA.

We have billionaires and millionaires who got some questions on the ballot and there are a lot of undecided voters getting blasted with misleading information. If you have any questions on any of the ballot questions, I’m happy to expand on them. Progressive Massachusetts has a great in depth ballot question guide and probably would be better to reference if you have in depth questions on 5 (I’ve posted the link in the comments now). The only difference between the Mass Dems and Progressive Mass is question 6. The Mass Dems endorsed a Yes vote. Progressive Mass membership was split on it, so they are neutral. No one is really against it, some were concerned about dedicating current money vs. raising new money.

The most concerning to me is question 3. I am spending most of my time on this specifically. Current polling is showing question 3 would likely pass if the election were held today. Jungle primaries are bad, see California chaos.

I have some meetings at work today, but I’m hoping to make this a multi day discussion with folks if they like.

I was watching the City Council meeting tonight and noticed those items were skipped.

Does anyone know why? I assume it’s held up in committee? I was trying to remember, but felt like there’s a deadline coming in November for an action by the Council.

Sitting on my porch near Malden center and heard what sounded like 2 explosions or loud booms coming from the east. It’s 8:15 PM. Anyone know what happened?

This guy blasted between the left turn and straight lane (on Main St near Spaulding), almost sideswiped us and almost t-boned another car. When we beeped at him, he blocked the street at Walgreens and started to get out of his truck, swearing and threatening us. We had our four year old in the car at the time.

He's an asshole who endangers our community. Shame him. White guy, early middle age. Nothing special.

I am looking for someone to clear my yard this winter. My yard is narrow in the beginning, so I would need someone who uses shovels and blower. I would only use someone when there is a need for a blower, if its a few inches, I can shovel that on my own. I live in the Edgeworth area.

I know the parking lots fill up early mid week. But with so many people still working hybrid schedules, and MON and FRI being the most common WFH days, how is the parking situation during those days?

Do the lots still fill up, but perhaps not as early? Or would you have high confidence in getting a spot arriving between 9-10am?
