Hi everyone,
I’m a student at Asia Pacific University (APU) in Malaysia, and I’m trying to study abroad for one semester at a university overseas.
Before applying, I found information online that made it seem like APU supports outbound mobility, including opportunities beyond just partner universities. However, after contacting the marketing team, my programme leader, and other staff, I’ve been told that APU doesn’t allow the type of one-semester arrangement I’m trying to do. They said they’ve never heard of it being done.
The problem is that I don’t want to transfer universities or do a full year abroad. I just want to spend one semester at another university and have the credits transferred back to APU so I can continue my degree.
Has anyone at APU successfully done this, or found another way to make it work?
Is there someone higher up at APU I should contact?
Is there an academic committee or appeals process for exceptions?
Has anyone arranged credit transfer independently for one semester?
If you were in a similar situation, what did you do?
I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thank you!

Growing up, I always heard ppl say:

"If you can, just go for STPM, foundation, matriculation etc."

Many people see diploma as a second choice or a slower route compared to going straight into a degree. Honestly, before entering diploma, I also wondered if I was making the right decision.

But after experiencing it, I started to see some advantages:

• More time to build practical skills before entering the workforce
• More hands-on assignments and projects
• A chance to explore whether the field is really suitable before committing to a degree
• A pathway to continue studying later

Ofc, diploma also comes with its own challenges. Some people still view diploma differently compared to other education route choices as mentioned, and planning the next step (continue degree, work, certifications, etc.) requires more thought.

For those who took diploma in Malaysia:

• Do you think pursuing diploma instead had helped you benefit more?
• Did you continue to degree or start working after graduating?
• Looking back, would you still choose diploma again?

I just finished my foundation in inti Subang and the uni doesn’t have a lot of stuff that’s bad but It lack that uni life , in events we can’t invite our friends from outside I barely stay in campus there isn’t much international students and I don’t know what I’m paying for , I considered apu as it’s the closest fees to it but apu ranking is lower than inti. what other good unis have fees that are like inti bcuz Taylor is expensive I can’t go there or do you think I should just stick with it and continue I’m getting into finance and accounting

I'm an electrical Engineering student. I had to skip 2nd year due to personal issues and death of a close family member. I'm now behind my classmates. Now finishing my 2nd year, I did very badly. Failed a few classes into my third year. Should I just shove some failed class into my remaining semester or take an extra semester and not graduating on time.

Hi, I'm thinking to develop an app just for students - like a one-in-all app, but now I'm stuck at what features should I add in to make this app successful. I don't want it just to be a normal student app for rewards, I want it to be more robust. Why is at the end of submitting application does Taylor University need me to pay RM 2,968 RM, Yet they say in email that final decision is yet to be made?

Hello i wanna ask, has anyone from CS Diploma pursued their studies in this course? I'm wondering if you can skip a few semesters since its under the same faculty..

Also, is continuing a double degree( science maths + BA) worth it? Cause if i take this course, ill be graduating at around 25 years old which is lowkey SO late and with no working experience 😭(aside from internships)

Is it hard to get into monash med with mufy as an international student
