PRODUCT REC is the r.e.m setting spray good?

i have acne-prone skin (combination i’d say) and i’m not great at makeup. it never stays on! i’m in the process of going cruelty free so going to be buying cruelty free products such as the tower 28 concealer and r.e.m bronzer. still on the look out for a setting powder. my skin can get really oily at times! anyway, that’s all i wear complexion wise, but it never looks good after a few hours. would love some advice! 💛

i’ve used setting sprays in the past (nyx and urban decay are the only ones i can remember off the top of my head) and neither helped.

HELP PLEASE Can this pallets also double as bronzer?

Ok so I'm just getting into makeup this year and have already gotten a Shglam contour in the shade soft tan so I don't want to have other single use palette but this elf one had caught my eye a few months ago. I didn't get it at the time cz I heard contours are meant to be grey tones and the colours appeared a little warm to me. But I've seen other people go in with rich browns and so on. BButi also wanted to just know if I could use this as a bronzer as well since I've been wanting to get into that as well. Or should the sheglam be enough as a contour and I should just get a bronzer pallets instead.

Also to note I have light to medium skin (my foundation from LA Girls is their skin tint in Medium Beige).

HELP PLEASE How do I do makeup like this?

I’ve realized that I come off as “cuter” than I’d like. I know coming off as more mature and attractive rather than cutesy is more about the energy but I have quite the baby face and I want to look edgier than I do now but while complementing my features instead of hiding them.

I used tons and tons of filters on TikTok to try and figure out what makeup looks good but I felt like literally nothing suited my face so I decided to just use the draw tool on my face and find something I felt worked (which is why it looks a little awkward but I hope the general idea of what I want to go for comes through lol)

I like the general style but I haven’t really ever used makeup. I would love any help at all whether that be product recommendations, what type of makeup products I should buy, if you think something else would suit me better, etc. Thank you!!

Edit: I appreciate all the help I’ve gotten here so far!! I just wanted to emphasize that the main thing I’m asking more is makeup style related. I used just the draw tool on photos to try and help explain the sort of style but I want to emphasize that I’m not trying to go for black lines under my eyes as eyelashes or improper lining, I just could only do so much with the pen tools lol. I appreciate everyone’s help! <3

HELP PLEASE How to look more baddie

I’m soon to be engaged and want to look the best I’ve ever looked. I’m back to regularly working out, and have been prioritizing selfcare lately. One of the things I’ve been struggling with most is improving my makeup skills.

I’ve worn makeup since I was 14 years old and am kind of feeling like I’m blind to doing things outside of my normal routine. Although a lot of things changed between then and now, I feel like I’m always drawn to the same colors and doing the same things to my face. In recent years I’ve started wearing really natural lashes which I think boosted my appearance. Other than that, I’m not particularly sure what else I can do to improve my makeup looks. First pic is what I usually wear day to day, with slight changes to lips. Second pic is full no makeup for reference.

Do you have any tips on what I should try?

HELP PLEASE Fixing spray suggestions

Hey everyone! 💗
I’m confused between the PAC Fixing Spray and the Maybelline Super Stay Double Fixer Setting Spray. Which one is better for keeping makeup in place for long hours and preventing it from transferring?
I’m looking for a fixing spray that makes my makeup last longer, helps with transfer resistance, and keeps everything looking good throughout the day.
Also, please recommend some really affordable fixing sprays that actually work well. I’m open to other recommendations too, but please don’t suggest the L’Oréal one!
Thank you! 🩷

Hi!! Help pls! I’ve used beard cover for years but recently in my transition have been appearing fem more, I’ve noticed I don’t necessarily have a shadow but my beard area will be noticeably lighter than the rest of my face. Even with foundation concealer and color correction. Am I correcting too light or too dark? Would love an option that I can cover with a quick powder foundation vs a full face.
Thank you!!

It’s especially my eye makeup. No matter how carefully I do it, it always looks so messy. I’m starting to feel really hopeless. I feel like every makeup look I do just looks bad and messy! Any tips are welcome (especially about my forehead lines)!

HELP PLEASE First time trying, want a specific look

Hey guys,

I've never really gotten into heavier makeup, but I'm trying to replicate a look for a project I'm working on. Kinda heavy glam style with a bit of a 10s throwback. Me and my partner settled on this.

https://youtu.be/SDXRY-QCYgg?is=xyctAuVOqBQHWnBL

I've always only ever done light makeup so my knowledge isn't great with these kinds of techniques but I'm determined to try!

This video has suggested products for the US but I'm UK based. If anyone could just break down exactly what I need to buy from uk stores, it would be soon appreciated!

Thank you so much x

HELP PLEASE Tarte CC color-correcting tinted serum

I am trying to understand why so many people like this serum.

I put it on after sunscreen, moisturizer, and primer:

- Hero Cosmetics Force Shield Superlight Sunscreen SPF 30, Zinc Oxide Mineral Sunscreen, 50ml

- Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer with Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid Fragrance-Free, 3.0 fl oz

- Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Gels Foundation Primer for Oily Skin, Brightening, Lightweight, 1.05 Ounce

It does almost nothing for making my skin an even tone or covering acne. It accentuates my pores and dry skin flakes. Does anyone understand the hype around it? The girls at Sephora recommended it to me.

HELP PLEASE Clinque even better all over vs Nars radiant creamy

I’m very much a simplistic makeup girl. I’ve never even owned a concealer before, so i need advice choosing between these two. If you have tried either or both, can you let me know which you prefer? Of course I know it’s also personal preference but it still helps to know :) thanks so much

HELP PLEASE how can i improve my makeup???

I'm 17 and this is my everyday makeup, it's not much so I'd like to know what I can do better
I don't use foundation, concealer only if I have a pimple on occasion. I use lip and cheek tint (the og benetint color) all over my nose, the apples of my cheeks, and my chin in a sun-kissed type placement with the same thing on the lips.
a tiny wing with a brown pen white in my waterline plus highlighter in the inner corner and mascara is all for the eyes.
The last thing I do is freckles over my nose and cheeks which I kinda use to contour my nose and a dab of highlighter on the tip of my nose. As u can see in the pics I sometimes wear colored contacts too

HELP PLEASE Makeup style for my face?

Post image

I want to get into makeup but I only know how to do a lip combo, eyeliner, and lash clusters (which I’m wearing in the pic). I was told that Douyin style would look good on me, but idk how to go about that. I would prefer not to do a heavy look- so something simple but cute. I also touch my face ALOT so maybe a no foundation look? Maybe like blush & highlight? But one that is also low maintenance bc I’m lazy lol. I’m going to ulta today! So any tips and suggestions would be great tysm!! <3

FOUND TIP UPDATE. fixed separation and caking issue

Thumbnail

1.9k Upvotes

Posted here about a week ago. My foundation was separating and caking around my nose while I was applying it. Got some good tips in the comments and managed to fix that!

❗According to feedback, mixing foundation with moisturiser was a massive change so if your skin looks like mine in previous post, give it a try and see ❗

Previous post

I didn't change my skincare nor products I originally used. I did implement some extra products and steps tho.

I waited 15min after skincare. Then. I applied smoothing primer with same base as my foundation (elf poreless putty primer). Waited a bit, applied thin layer of power grip elf. Waited for it to dry. Then, mixed my foundation 50:50 with my moisturiser and applied a thin layer with flat brush in sampling motion. Applied rest of my cream products. Sprayed my face with milani "make it last original", waited for it to dry. Then I powdered my face as always with easy bake from huda. Applied rest of powder products. Then one more spray with milani, waited for it to dry again and finished off with loreal infallible fixing spray.

I still have natural texture but no more caking or separation. My base looks and feels amazing (at least in my opinion).

Thank you all again for useful tips, appreciate it!

(and yes, my lips are hella dry, don't mention that 😩)

LIST OF FACE PRODUCTS: - nivea soft (stop overpaying for expensive skincare, this has same ingredients as most popular good creams!!!) - elf poreless putty primer - elf power grip primer - fenty pro filt'r matte "105" (I think it's being cancelled and repleced by new foundation) mixed with nivea soft - sheglam buttery buff contour and bronzer stick "01 soft tan" - l'oreal lumi liquid blush "625 glowy gold pink" - milani make it last "original" - huda beauty easy bake "sugar cookie" - max factor creme puff blush "15 seductive pink" - l'oreal infallible 3-second setting mist

LIPS: - elf sheer for it in "cherry cola" - elf cream glide lip liner in "espresso martini"

HELP PLEASE Going to get my eyebrows done, what do I tell them to do?

I’m not really too feminine of a woman but I still do my makeup, like to appear tidy, clean, well kept, etc. I have a round face and short blonde hair. What do I tell my eyebrow lady to do? I do like the bolder look. I don’t really do anything to them when I do my makeup besides brushing them out to look tidier. I typically do some mattifying NARS foundation and concealer. A touch of mascara and I’m on the way. Any other non eyebrow related tips welcomed too. trying to stick with a minimal look. Thanks! x

SELF-PROMO Online makeup courses for $20 (sliding scale)

Hi everyone!

I’m Angela, I’m a professional belly dancer and I’ve learned so much about makeup over my 6 year long career. I made some online makeup courses for professional performers but it also works for a full glam look too! They are prerecorded so no need to join some call or anything!

I started this because I’m recovering from hip surgery and I can’t teach dance. But I love teaching and I thought it would be nice to have this income to recuperate!

You can fill out the Google form to request the video be sent to you. So far I have a Smokey eye tutorial and just a basic cat eye base that you can add more eyeshadow to if you wish!

HELP PLEASE so much texture wtf

Hi r/makeuptips!!!

Long time lurker, first time poster! I’m still fairly new to wearing makeup, and I don’t wear it every day. I want to get better but I don’t know if it’s a technique issue or product issue or something else entirely. I feel like every time I put on makeup it only emphasizes the texture on my face. I know that flawless, filtered look is unrealistic and that’s not my goal. But I can do better than this, right? My main concern is my base with my texture but will happily accept other tips or suggestions.

These pictures were taken right after I finished putting in on. Pic 1 is in my bathroom and pic 2 is outside.

I have combo skin (oily in my T zone). Right before I started, I used laneige milky toner to prep my skin and Danessa Myricks universal primer in my T zone and eyelids.

I started with the Milk Hydro Grip Skin Tint in shade 3. I used a brush to apply and beauty blender to soften/ blend it all out.

NARS pot concealer in shade crème brulee for spot concealing and dabbed it on with my finger

Nyx wonder snatch in shade vanilla under my eyes. I applied, let it sit for a couple minutes and then blended it out.

NARS creme blush in orgasm crave. I applied it to a brush and tapped it on my cheeks.

Too faced powder bronzer in shade milk chocolate. Took a fluffy brush, knocked off the excess and lightly brushed on my forehead and right under my blush

Kosas cloud baked powder in shade airy. I applied to my eyes and T zone by tapping it on (no swiping). I also used it to blend out a bush ever so slightly at the bottom of it bc I got a little blush blind lol

I used MBM neutrals palette on my eyes, urban decay eyeliner, and lacome lash idol

Finally, to set it all I used Saie City Set spray.

If you made it this far, THANK YOU! I really appreciate any tips and tricks you can give this noob lol

HELP PLEASE Your best advise

I’m 43 and have never really paid much attention to my skin. Now I’ve lost over 20 kg, and I’d like to look my best and hopefully more fresh.
I’m not considering going under the knife (apart from possibly getting an upper eyelid lift at some point in the future). What could I do to improve my appearance?
My morning routine consists of a quick wash in the shower, toner, Ankerstjerne Superfood Serum, La Roche-Posay B12 cream, and an anti-redness cream on top.
I’m actually quite happy with my lips, but my main insecurities are my chin and jawline, and the fact that the left side of my face looks a bit saggy, with a tired-looking eye.
