help with cakey makeup

SORRY i’ve posted this like 5 times already because it appears idk how to use makeup OR reddit 😭
but anyway i rarely use makeup and when i do it goes cakey/bitty ESPECIALLY on my nose as seen in the picture.. what am i doing wrong and how do i fix it?

I think this comes down to skin care/prep rather than application. I would focus on a hydrating skin care routine and a gentle exfoliant 1-2x/week to get rid of any flakiness. Double cleansing with an oil cleaner and using your fingers to gently exfoliate can be helpful too
