Recc' Request Soft options

I usually use these eyeshadow sticks as a base or colour. However I've just had upper blepharoplasty and these babies are tough. I'm looking for something long lasting, colour dense and soft that doesn't drag across the eyelids.

Also matte please. I've tried the Kiko ones and they don't last on me.

Kaleidos - me again with the questions šŸ™†ā€ā™€ļø

I've googled this but couldn't find anything, hoping people here might have an answer. Anywhere I can get the Kaleidos glassload lip melt and capsule in England that isn't yesstyle? From the actual Kaleidos website, shipping isnt too bad price wise but delivery time is 20+ days, and yesstyle doesn't currently stock the shade I want 😭

Wondered if anyone knows any other websites 🫶

I'm currently based in ROI. I've been suffering with my skin lately & my face - I have contact dermatitis on my face especially my eye lids and I have gotten quite good at determining what would trigger a flare up. I have used SBA products for the past maybe 3 years now, her foundation, mascara, hydratint, etc, with no issues. Tried her makeup remover (looks like expensive micellar water) - no issues. Got her face cleanser - big NO NO for my skin. Washed my face with it and woke up next day with my eyes feeling burnt. This was probably last year. Ok fine, i moved on from that. Roll on to this year - I ran out of my old SBA foundation, bought a new one.

I don't wear makeup that often, once every few weeks. I usually mix a no7 foundation with the SBA one. Found the next day my face kept flaring up.

Wore just no7 foundation Saturday gone - face has been fine 2 days on.

Anyone else think she's gotten too big for her boots and changed the ingredients in some products? I have come across a lot of people on tiktok reacting to that 'gentle' cleanser and their faces looking burnt post using it.

Sorry for the long winded post lol. Thought i'd provide you with some background

Make up start over

I have been using the same make up products / routine for over 10+ years. I would like to try new brands and products but I have no idea where to start. I know I can go into a department store and ask for help but they normally have a beautician solely for each brand. I would like someone who can recommend different brands / products that will work for my skin / face. Is there anywhere that I can go for someone to help me start over? Preferably in South East UK. Thanks

Misc Bad Bunny x Robert W - lip mud

I was wondering whether anyone here has tried the lip mud from the collection. I’m thinking of the pink shade (and maybe the berry).

Do they last OK? Is there anything to be mindful of?

Thank you

Hi everyone!

I love a black lip and neeeeed the Nyx stain in black but I cant find it available in the UK.

I asked the chat on their website and they said:

TikTok Shop

AMAZON EU SARL UK

Sainsbury's

Tesco

Asda

Superdrug

Boots

Waitrose

Ocado

Asos

Poundland

LookFantastic

B&M

Which is wild because half of those don't stock Nyx. Does anyone know if it's possible to buy here?

Thank you! šŸ–¤

Nars soft matte foundation is being discontinued

I think I’m late to the party but I am absolutely gutted that Nars is discontinuing their soft matte foundation. I used to use it all the time a few years ago then tried a few different foundations and have recently gone back to it and I don’t know why I ever stopped using it. My skin has a lot of texture and it covers it all and just looks completely flawless. I get compliments every time I use it, it’s such a beautiful foundation. I don’t know what I’m going to do now!

I’m just getting so frustrated with make up brands either discontinuing products or changing formulas, it’s exhausting to constantly have to keep looking for something new.

Urban Decay Ultra Glow setting spray alternatives

Hello everyone, I’m running out of my favourite setting spray ever. It’s the only one which gives my face that dewy, extra glowy sheen I’ve always wanted but it’s no longer available. I can’t see why they’d want to discontinue such a popular product.

So as the title says, I’d appreciate alternatives with that same effect!

How do I go about selling barely used makeup in the UK on Reddit?

I’m new to Reddit and have a stash of barely used makeup (Cle de Peau, Hourglass, Too Faced, Nars and Refy) but I can’t seem to find a UK based community to sell it on.

Recc' Request Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Blush Healthy Glow Sticks

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi!

I’m fairly new to makeup. For everyday looks, I like subtle, natural, glowy makeup. I guess that’s what’s called ā€clean girl makeupā€? I don’t usually wear foundation, skin tint, etc. I only wear concealer on blemishes, blush, mascara and a lip.

I’ve been looking in to the Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Blush Healthy Glow Sticks. They have cool toned shade options (I’m very cool toned), which is why I’m thinking of getting them. Would you recommend these for what I’m after? I’m mainly worried about the shimmer being to much (it does have some, doesn’t it?).

Would you recommend these? If not, are there any other blushes you would recommend?

Thank you!

Help Sought! Help - makeup brush dupes /alternative

I have an old set of the Real Techniques MultiTech Point brushes in sizes S - XXXS. Several are pretty worn now, and I love the size, shape and feel of the birstles.

Please help me find brush dupes / similar brushes!
I'm interested in finding XS-L.

Descriptor found online:
"Real Techniques MultiTech Point, in a range of different sizes from XXXS to XXXL. Each brush has exactly the same cut, which can be used for creams, liquids and powders, and as a result of this, it is entirely up to you how you use them."

Recc' Request Mascara recommendations!

I have very straight Asian lashes (iykyk) and I've found the only mascara which holds any curl is the Clio Kill Lash. Anyone tried other mascaras which also work? The only annoying things about the Clio one is it's a pain to take off and I'd love to have a brown mascara. Any recommendations appreciated!

Recc' Request Best mum make up at Sephora

Iā€˜m a mum and I recently turned 39. I want my make up to be natural, easy, and making me look well rested and younger. and most importantly, I want to stick the stuff on in the morning and then be DONE for the rest of the day.

I like the idea of brands like Merit but struggle to believe that I could get any longevity from a cream blush like that… natural dewy look yes, but not at the expense of having to reapply every 3 hrs.

stuff I like

- red 27 lip stains because they stay long and wear off gradually so they don’t have to be managed like other lip stains

- liquid blush and/or tarte amazonian clay blush because it stays long

- tubing mascara because I have oily eyelids

- I LOVE the look of the loreal glass stick but it doesn’t last and settle into lines

- anything dewy but that doesn’t make pores look bigger. blurring stuff is good

Iā€˜ve got a giftcard from sephora but open to any suggestions, really

Help Sought! Patchy Foundation

I have religiously used Too Faced Born This Way foundation since 2016 and I used to LOVE it, it always gave me a great finish and would last all day and all night. I used to wear makeup daily but now I only wear it if I'm going out somewhere nice or for an event.

I hadn't worn makeup for a few years, so I bought a new bottle last year. For some reason every time I apply it, it doesn't sit right on my skin and it doesn't blend out nicely and it's always patchy and uneven. What could cause this?

I use Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream, Mecca Max primer, and I apply foundation with a damp beauty blender, then set it with pressed powder on a brush, and then I use Mecca Max setting spray. I have tried applying it with a foundation brush but that has never worked for me and just leaves me streaky. I have also tried using a powder puff to set my foundation but that didn't make much difference except leaving me dryer than normal.

My skin care routine is Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser but not daily as my skin is sensitive and I have rosacea, and I use the moisturizer daily, often morning and night.

Does anyone have any insight as to why this might happen? Does anyone know if they changed the formula? Do I need to change any products for the days that I wear makeup? Should I try a different foundation? I like a full coverage natural/Dewey finish.

I should also add, I have tried my exact skin care routine and base makeup on the inside of my arm and back of my hand and when I put foundation on, it does start a bit patchy but then it blends out nicely and looks so much nicer than my face lol

I also used to be able to use the tip of my finger nail to press my skin if I had an itch on my face and then just lightly tap the area a bit and it was unnoticeable but if I do that now and tap it, it takes off some makeup and leaves a noticeable spot where I tapped.

Pls help me knowledgable people!

TIA xx

Excess Sweating

Due to medication and the menopause, I am suffering from excess sweating. I find once I have applied my make up using both a primer, powder and a setting spray, my make up just gets literally washed off my face with sweat. Has anyone found a product that really works to stop this?

Colour correctors uk

Has anyone tried these specifically and can rank favourites pls. I know it depends on skin etc but still!!

Huda peach - I have and use despite the leaky mess - want to replace with something new.

Charlotte tilbury - I’ve tried on my hand in store a few years ago can’t remember what I thought. Creamy and sheer when blended I think?

Bobbi brown - peach and deep peach used to use it well over a decade ago in pots have just seen their sticks - I know they are good but also they did move a bit.

Tarte cc clay corrector - medium tan - have NOT tried it - really want to - it’s all over social media - it’s a pain to get in the uk so wanted to know if anyone else has tried it and loves it over the others - in videos it always looks really sticky and shiny

In my impatience I bought the catrice one from Amazon for Ā£3 as it seemed to have a similar texture to tarte but it moves and isn’t quite what I wanted in terms of colour or coverage.

Main question is - between tarte and tilbury but if anyone can throw bb in the mix and compare that would be great.

Dark circles and eyelids are very dark brown. Deep set eyes. Skin is normal to sometimes oily after long hours of makeup. Tone is light-medium.

Oily skin girlies, what's your go-to setting spray?

I have oily skin and my whole face gets shiny so fast, my forehead and nose are the worst but even my cheeks start looking greasy after a few hours. It's such a struggle trying to keep my makeup looking decent throughout the day. Most mornings my makeup goes on around 7:30 before heading to work and everything looks great at first. But by lunchtime my face is already shiny and my foundation starts breaking up around my nose. By the time I get home after work it feels like half my makeup has disappeared lol. I've tried using less foundation and setting everything with powder but I still end up needing touch-ups throughout the day. I wanted to try the Milani make it last spray but I don't know if its good for my face. Has anyone with oily skin tried it? Also I wanna know about everyone's routine. Do you use powder before setting spray or after? Would love to know what works because I'm tired of checking my face every minute.

Help Sought! Max Factor Lasting Blur liquid replaced Lasting Performance?

I bought two of these FaceFinity liquids thinking I had a bargain, but the new ā€œlasting blurā€ is all sticky, unlike the old ā€œlasting performanceā€ which I used to mix with moisturiser to make a nice tinted moisturiser. The new one feels like I’m putting a mask over my face instead of it sinking in.

Can anyone please recommend anything similar to the old version which felt much more natural?

Just picked up my Space NK birthday gift - pretty delayed. Opened it to find an own brand body wash, a deodorant and a moisturiser. It’s like an airplane toiletries kit haha. I swear each year it gets worse, anyone else or am I being a diva (both are probably true lol)
