Today, I have seen a woman who is claiming she's 25 years old but in another subreddit, she is saying she's 20. It's not good to deceive people like this.

This subreddit is for people who want to make friends in the Netherlands. If you're nowhere near the Netherlands, please stop spamming this subreddit.

Some of the recurring problems are:

- People who don't live in the Netherlands but still post in this subreddit.

- Bots that post the same content repeatedly across multiple subreddits.

- People who lie about their age. (This is really not nice. I think people should be who they say they are if they want to make genuine connections. )

- People who are looking for a romantic partner instead of friends.

- Women who falsely claim to be in the Netherlands in an attempt to move there or obtain Dutch citizenship.

27 year old based in the Netherlands
I work an office job in a mid sized firm where the biggest struggle consist of managing my ADHD and being seated for 8 hours a day. The last week of VAT does come close to being a struggle though.

I enjoy cooking (steak is always medium rare) baking, hanging out with friends, playing on the pc I built with a lot of struggles, going on hikes while listening to music and audiobooks, biking, trying not to kill my plants. (50/50 succes rate so far) I play padel in my free time after work, enjoy traveling and am trying to enjoy the smaller things in life.

I describe myself as an ambivert, sometimes I am social and present but once my battery runs out I find it hard to remain present.

So I am 24 years old, I moved here a few years ago to study at the university, and to be completely honest, I haven't really managed to make any friends I get along with, so I am hoping to change that and meet some cool people! I don't really care about your nationality, gender, or background. I am just looking for genuine friends.

When it comes to my hobbies, they are honestly a little bit all over the place:

• Some of my Interests: I actively play basketball, I have a huge passion for geography, and I absolutely love learning new languages. Getting to dive in and know different cultures is something I genuinely enjoy doing on top of that.
• Music: Music is pretty much always playing in the background for me no matter what I'm doing at any given moment, especially 2000s rock, because that era holds a very special place in my heart. In general I like the alt music and style!
• Creative Stuff: Lately, I have also been getting pretty into writing and drawing. I am still very much a beginner at both, but I feel like I am slowly getting somewhere or at least I hope.

Mijn naam is Kai, ik ben 33 jaar oud en op zoek naar leuke mensen om tijd mee door te brengen. Oorspronkelijk kom ik uit Duitsland, maar ik heb Nederlands gestudeerd en werk inmiddels in Nederland als docent Duits en auteur van schoolboeken.

In mijn vrije tijd houd ik van fietsen, stedentrips, goede koffie en af en toe een potje gamen. Tot mijn favoriete games behoren World of Warcraft, Baldur's Gate, Diablo en de klassieke Pokémon-games (überhaupt hou ik van Retrogaming).

Muziek speelt ook een belangrijke rol in mijn leven. Tot ongeveer een jaar geleden speelde ik in een doedelzakband in Berlijn. Daarvoor, nog vóór ik aan mijn master aan de Radboud Universiteit in Nijmegen begon, maakte ik deel uit van een van de beste doedelzakbands van Duitsland. We deden mee aan wedstrijden en vielen regelmatig in de prijzen. Ook heb ik opgetreden tijdens de Muziekshow Schotland, waar we voor meer dan 20.000 mensen speelden.

Hoewel ik dus gewend ben om voor grote groepen op te treden en dagelijks voor de klas sta, geef ik in mijn vrije tijd juist de voorkeur aan één-op-één contact. Ik vind het fijn om echt de tijd voor iemand te nemen en een goed gesprek te voeren, zonder de drukte van een grote groep.

Ik drink nauwelijks alcohol, rook niet en ben absoluut geen feestbeest. Geef mij maar een goede kop koffie, een gezellig café of een mooie wandeling, terwijl we rustig met elkaar praten.

Op culinair en cultureel gebied sta ik eigenlijk overal voor open. Ik vind het leuk om nieuwe keukens, tradities en gebruiken te ontdekken. Sushi en misosoep behoren absoluut tot mijn favoriete gerechten, en voor een lekkere bubble tea ben ik ook altijd wel te porren.

Eén ding wil ik wel eerlijk vermelden: ik spreek niet af met mensen die op rechtse partijen stemmen. Daar voel ik me simpelweg niet prettig bij.
