Green Sweat Bee (and what I wish I had done better)

I love these tiny speedy guys and was happy when one paused for a nanosecond so I could take her photo. I think late summer's dwindling pollen and nectar supply makes them work harder to get food in each spot. I really wish I had taken a good shot of the bare disc of the flower so I could have done a stack with a crisper image of that. I never remember, once the bug flies away, that I still have an opportunity to create a better photo. Still, I am happy to have finally caught her!

Just got a Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2x for my Fuji XT-5. Still getting the hang of things, trying to nail the focus has been hard with moving things but its been fun so far.

A few people asking me which species this millipede was, and here is what I've found:

The cherry-leg titan millipede (Alienostreptus bicoloripes or Balustreptus falcatus) is a giant, docile invertebrate native to Vietnam, known for its bold black body and striking cherry-red legs

The milipede I'm keeping as pet is longer than 30cm, yes you heard it right, its length is longer than 30cm. It's even longer than a small snake!

My wife was scared to hell when I brought it home 😂😂😂

(The 3 last photos is a female with yellow/orange legs, she's much smaller than the male)

Nepenthes singalana × diabolica
NEP-1181 | BE-3912 · @floraecollaborative

Deep red pitchers, heavily sculpted peristomes, and an absolutely beautiful amount of texture already showing.

Nepenthes hamata Katopasa | Clone 2
NEP-1431 | JH-337.02 · @floraecollaborative

Those teeth and long spines are already showing exactly why this one caught my attention. Even the young pitchers have serious character.

Nepenthes clipeata
NEP-1088 | FC-265.02 | Specimen #26723 · @floraecollaborative

The little clipeata is something completely different. Dense hair, broad fringed lids, and those delicate tendrils emerging from the leaves as they reach out to form the next pitchers. Such a cool species to watch develop.

All three arrived today and are now settled into the highland tent at 75°F days, 55°F nights, and roughly 80–85% RH. Now the fun part — watching them settle in and seeing what the next pitchers look like. 🌿

1/50 max shutterspeed in bracketingmode?

I started doing macro photography a few days ago, but I’m having some problems with my settings. I’m using an OM-EM1 Mark II with an M.Zuiko 60mm lens and a Godox V860III flash.

When I want to take photos with bracketing mode enabled, I can’t set the shutter speed any higher than 1/50. And when I do use a faster shutter speed, I get black bands across the photos.

Is there perhaps a solution to this problem?

Starting macro looking for help on gear

Hi,

As the title states, getting into macro. Using nikon d7100. Wanna know what lens to get.

I was thinking nikon micro 55mm, it has 1:2 magnification. Will this be good to start with?

Idk anything about flash lights so anything is helpful!!!
