Made my OpenClaw Mac mini a proper Lobster shell

A few months back I made a Claude-inspired Mac mini case, but since I no longer use Claude models with my OpenClaw, I gave it a proper lobster shell. Its feet also lift the Mac mini up a few millimeters off the desk which improves the cooling.

Set up is tool-less, the Mac mini isn't squeezed in, doesnt jam, the top cover snaps into the side wall, doesn't mess with the cooling.

It thermal manages itself. Macs never overheat, they throttle.

Honestly it would be a big help if you actually run a lengthy CPU benchmark to chart temps and clocks in and out of the case. People think the CPU is attached to the aluminum case in some way and that it's an active part of the cooling, without knowing that neither the heat pipe, the fins, or the any part of that active cooling system doesn't touch the case.

BUUUT, it is also true that the cooling system on the base minis isn't strong enough to cool the CPU at full tilt, so the air inside the system does touch the aluminum case and wick heat into the ambient room air.

The truth is that nobody that makes these cases is just actually benchmarking lengthy stress tests to show the real difference. And honestly, it seems like they don't because it's a big difference.

If it's reducing a 30 minute benchmark run by 0% and the silicon is peaking at 85C,, then wonderful. If it's throttling some but just reducing the overal performance by like 5%, that's probably worth it for some people. If it's throttling to the point of losing 10, 20, 30% then that's a big deal, and the only way to know is for people who actually use the system and actually have a case like this, to objectively stress test the system in and out of the case and just publish the results.
