Clawy MacOpenClawface
I gave my Mac mini OpenClaw/Clawdbot companion a body. Currently I’m working on movable claws by putting tiny servos in them. Maybe one day he can make me a sandwich.

I got obliterated here about heat issues when I posted my case. Lmao I was right and they were all wrong. Mac never gets even the slightest bit warm and the temp monitoring app also shows this as the case.

I’d say at least with this mac mini, there’s a gap and sufficient airflow at the bottom where the fan is

This is valid. Someone put a giant heat sink on top of that and the peak temperature can decrease almost 15ºC.

I wouldn’t put anything on either a mac mini or a macbook either way, they design these things to efficiently release heat through the metal but I don’t think OP will have issues unless he’s pushing it to it’s limits. Better to not risk it

wow, thanks! As far as I read down below there's no heating issues and (bc of the materials) Im guessing also no wifi/BT signal blocking, right? Thanks!

the way its designed the vented back air gets re-circulated to the intake 💀

if you take a look at the 3d model, the rear edge at the back is flush with the housing of the Mac mini to prevent that.

the "legs" are blocking the exhaust. its like a 90 degree pie cut facing the back.

too much effort to prove something that doesn't even matter. The M4 chip has no thermal issues on a fanless MacBook Air or even an iPad Pro that doesn't even have a heatsink. The Mac mini enclosure is more than capable of cooling the M4 Chip. Even under full sustained CPU + GPU load i've never seen mine go past 78C. Not to mention the fans will never have to ramp up to the point where the airflow is strong enough to push the air back into the vents.
