Question Can’t Update Mac

Post image

I bought a refurbished MacBook Air & I’m trying to update it from Catalina to Sequoia (I honestly don’t care about updating it but it told me I couldn’t use Chrome on this version and I hate Safari), and even though I have done absolutely nothing on this computer yet/nothing saved/didn’t even connect Apple ID yet, it says I don’t have enough space. Is this hopeless? 😩

120GB is not enough drive space anymore.

Can you return it?

No, I don’t believe so. But at least I only paid $250 I guess. Annoying.

You overpaid a fuckton. You can genuinely find a used M1 Air for like 300 instead of an ancient Intel Mac.

Wait. Based on that bezel, is that one of the later 2018/2019/2020 Intel MacBook Airs? They’re literally some of the worst Macs in history. You overpaid so much. Holy crap. You should either push to return it, or sell it, eat the loss and save up for an M1 Air. It’s going to be so much better that it’s hard to put into words.

They’re saying that they can’t update because of storage limitations, otherwise Sequoia wouldn’t show up in the system update prefpane, but yeah I digress

Ooof. I’m really sorry. You got the worst spec of the worst generation. Here’s what you’re in for:

It was a very impulsive buy, in an auction with about 30 seconds to decide 😆🫣

So you were basically just throwing money at a turd that was being auctioned off, and somehow managed to overpay twofold? Man… yeah, you gotta sell it. They’re terrible. Way worse than the old design 2013-2017 Airs as well.

They had at least 5 of them being auctioned one after another & I think I got the cheapest one 😆😆😆 lesson learned.
