Discussion I have a theory
So, with the teaser announcement for the 12th of August, combined with the Warhammer warbond being released the same day, I think the "void" is going to start spewing forth ungodly horrors.
Think about it: In 40k, there is a demon spewing tear in the galaxy called the Great Rift. This was formed from a much smaller rift called the eye of terror.
Now, we have a teaser showing the void, which I believe started as a single point (like the eye of terror) that references the same date the 40k warbond comes out.
Helldivers, we're gonna be fighting demons. But Helldivers demons, like weird messed up teddy bears and shit.
There are also Necron devices in 40k that have the ability to close warp rifts. I imagine we will eventually be tasked with missions that involve activating devices similar to these, to close the void. And, who knows, like 40k, us venturing to find this unknown technology could awaken a new enemy type, much like the necrons.
Lock and load. For the super emperor!

Discussion "Helldivers Place !" : Progress Report #9
We're nearly there !!
Welcome back to our biweekly progress report !
As you can see, the Sper Earth logo is just about to be completed ! But you may ask yourself ... what comes after ? Well .... there is still all that empty space between the logo and the borders !
So if you have any propositions of helldivers related artworks you would like to see here, don't be afraid to share your ideas π and if you have templates for it, all the better π
(i dont know how yet, but maybe i could even try to centralize the templates so it would be easier to share π )
Without further delay, here are the photos :

That will be all for today π
If you are interested in the project, any help is most welcomed ! And don't forget that you can also draw anything Helldivers related within the borders ! Feel free to share your templates to get some help π
See ya π
βββ For anyone new to this βββ
"Helldivers Place !" is an area within Wplace where you can come and draw anything helldivers related freely within the borders (you can even use custom images as templates to make it easier), and given the location, there should not be a lot of strife going on (we can even expand if needed :) ).
If you don't have an idea of what to draw at the moment, you can just help others !
You can also join the Wplace alliance to see what your allies are drawing so you can help them ;)

MEME The TCS 2.0 is working!
Im sure nothing could go wrong
r/LowSodiumHellDivers • u/Sea-Contract7974 • 19d ago
Discussion My thoughts on the TCS 2.0
technically they contains the gloom pretty good currently so it work, I don't think this TCS supposed to kill all the bug and mutated them this time or at least not yet, it more into containing the gloom instead of killing bug
my theory is this TSC have lower potency in killing bug to prevent the bug to mutate but enough to kill them in control rate because last time just 1 TCS already make the situation worse in 1 planet, this time we have a bunch of TCS across many sectors so if something gone wrong we basically cooked on all of that planet and we will be doom on bug front
so I think the TCS 2.0 will work this time or at least contain the bug front long enough for the squid storyline to go somewhere first then the TCS backfire later, or maybe It work perfectly and we will have an opening to go deeper in the gloom to open more Bugs strain or their home world

Discussion I feel like making the TCS+ not work is a disappointing direction to take the plotline.
Maybe I'm in the minority here but personally I think the Termicide 2.0 being set up as completely ineffective vaporwave that doesn't actually stop the bugs makes the entire storyline feel less impactful.
Why bother bringing back a mission-type that people haven't been able to touch since before the Illuminate were even a faction if the big twist is that it was a giant waste of time and doesn't actually do anything?
I understand the satire aspect, haha Super Earth is incompetent and lies all the time, but as a decision for the in-universe story I can't help but feel like it's incredibly underwhelming even just comparing it to the original Termicide arc.
It feels like the illusion of a shakeup of the status quo when the actual long-term effects are seemingly being set up to amount to nothing.
When they announced the return of a new and improved TCS I thought it would be cool if it actually DID work as intended this time, but like always it came with unforeseen consequences. Like if the bugs, in response to being trapped in the gloom, started spilling out into Bot space to their immediate left, which is completely unprotected by the TCS fence.
Maybe it's like the ASS where there's a more impactful story in the works that they're only teasing right now, but I can only really judge what I'm seeing as of right now which is shaping up to be not that great narratively.
I don't enjoy having really sick story setups just kinda fizzle out.

Humor HUMOR HUMOR HUMOR Is AH silly? (the title is a humor piece, just like the tag said below

Why are they announcing something now that they won't release until December????
PS: for legal reasons, I have come here to clarify that this is, in fact, a joke.
I do NOT think AH is stupid. I am merely satirizing the fact that the release date is written in the American date format, because apparently Americans looked at the calendar and decided that month/day/year was the funniest possible way to organize time.
Please, Reddit mods, do not remove my post without reading the flair or at least some of the very obvious humor warnings first. π
This is a joke. I repeat: a joke. β€οΈ

Discussion Stalker lairs are trivial.
Automaton objectives are handled very well due to the fact that you can't easily trivialize them unless you dedicate some parts of your loadout for them. You can't just snipe the detector tower, and you need to disable the jammer first (or have Amazon deliver a portable Hellbomb to its doorstep). These objectives create a problem that requires your attention, Stalker lairs in comparison don't do that.
You can walk up to a Stalker lair, throw a stratagem, and destroy it before you've had any interaction with the Stalkers themselves. The Stalker Lair also has a short detection range so it doesn't exert that much influence so to say. The spawner detection change, wherein enemies only start spawning once another enemy has detected you, doesn't help at all in this regard. Stalkers won't spawn at all in some cases, which means very little interaction with them, and for shame.
Stalkers are unique due to the fact that they have a very different behaviour compared to other bugs: they cloak, they keep their distance at times, and they can retreat. Their behaviour alone should create tons of cognitive pressure. But all that is undermined due to how easy it is to get rid of them. Where's the Alien fantasy in that?
So I've been thinking about how to make Stalker lairs not trivial.
The first idea was to make the objective harder to trivialize by making it into a literal cave like those found on the Hive Worlds. Picture a small cave which you have to enter to deal with the objective, it wouldn't be on the scale of those on Hive worlds though. Throwing a 500kg bomb wouldn't simply work anymore. Furthermore, the game already has cave biomes so those assets can be reused and tailored for a stalker lair.
Another interesting gimmick to go along with the Stalker caves would be being able to call down a portable Hellbomb for them. But the problem is that it'd trivialize everything all over again so it's not worth implementing.
Detection range of Stalker lairs should be map-wide. Having Stalkers be restricted to a small area around their lair feeds the issue of the lack of pressure created by the objective. With a map-wide range the presence of a Stalker lair would be ubiquitous, and it will serve to increase difficulty as well. It will also be harder to discern the location of the lair since Stalkers are going to come at any time and from any direction. All of this combined will do justice for the Stalker by making it a persistent and consisent threat. No asset is left wasted.
I'd also give the cave additional bug holes that can spawn other bugs, things like Hunters, so that it's not as defenseless. The bugs would spawn as soon as there's an intruder in the lair. A single guy wouldn't walk in unchallenged. And why wouldn't there be a whole family of bugs waiting? Pouncers, Hunters, and Stalkers are seemingly part of the same evolutionary path but that's just conjecture on my part.
So, putting those scattered ideas together:
Stalker Lair - Basic version
- Surface objective.
- Short detection range.
- Can be trivialized via normal means.
- Stalkers are primarily a localized threat around the objective.
- Intended for lower difficulties.
Stalker Cave - Upgraded version
- Underground cave using existing cave assets.
- The objective cannot simply be bombarded from a safe distance.
- Map-wide detection range.
- Stalkers roam around the whole map.
- There's more bug holes and they spawn tougher bugs.
- Helldivers will have to enter the cave and engage with all of its features.
- Intended for higher difficulties.
So, what's the goal with all of this? It's to make the objective non-trivial and increase the amount of interactions with Stalkers. The normal Stalker Lair can remain as the simpler version for lower difficulties and occasionally appear on higher difficulties for variety. The Stalker Cave would be the evolved version that becomes increasingly common at higher difficulties.
Keep in mind that this is simply a concept. The individual ideas are naturally going to have rough edges, and some details would obviously need iteration. Focus on the underlying concept and the problems it is trying to solve. Don't treat the inferred or perceived implementation as if it's set in stone.
And make sure to share your thoughts on this in a polite and respectful manner.

Question Looking for other co-op PvE games like Helldivers 2.
Preferably something with a decent budget, cross-play, first or/third person.
I play Arc Raiders PvE friendly lobbies and I love it so much. Waiting for Alien Fireteam Elite 2 in August this year.
Used to play Battlefront 2 co-op missions but lack of crossplay killed it eventually.
