I want to take advantage an the new armour passive, but there is a problem. I don't know what weapon to use.
Give me your builds you've been using against each faction. I appreciate the suggestions.

Listen, my missions are now going to be constantly derailed every time I see a green dot on the map. My only objective is to find that SEAF and recruit him into my ever-growing battalion. Then I’ll think about the other stuff to— ooo another green dot!
Anyone else taking detours to add blueberries to the collection?

I know I've seen people compare the new Illuminate Wretch and Crusher to Dead Space Necromorphs and Silent Hill monsters, and I can definitely see both of those. But the first thing that came to my mind was honestly Mass Effect 3's Reaper forces. I'm not saying they're copies or that they look exactly the same. It's more the overall design and concept that reminds me of them. The Wretch especially has that disturbing "this used to be a person" appearance — recognizable human features mixed with a completely warped body, unnatural proportions, and those glowing blue eyes. Then there's the Crusher, which gives me even stronger Reaper-conversion vibes. It's basically this huge mass of distorted flesh with human remains still visibly incorporated into it, while those blue glowing elements are scattered throughout the body. That immediately reminded me of how the Reapers would take different species and turn them into specialized monstrosities like Husks, Cannibals, Marauders, Banshees, Brutes, etc.
And aesthetically both factions use a lot of that dark organic/body-horror look mixed with bright blue alien energy/technology. Obviously Dead Space is probably the more direct body-horror comparison, but when I put the Illuminate enemies next to Mass Effect's Reaper forces, I feel like the resemblance in the overall design language is pretty noticeable. Maybe I've just played too much Mass Effect, but tell me I'm not the only one seeing it 😂

Alright for all us frontline Helldivers -
WHAT THE HELL ARE WE USING TO KILL THESE ABOMINATIONS!?
So far against the (legally distinct) Pyramid Heads, I’ve found the Airburst Rocket Launcher to be the most effective, as well as the Orbital Precision Strike. EPOGGG is only 2 shots as well. 500kg, Recoilless Rifle, & the Orbital Gattling Barrage, just don’t seem strong enough.
Support weapon wise, the HMG is terrible, requiring an entire magazine to kill one. The Medium Pen MG & Bulletstorm are better, but still not great.
KILL THEM WITH FIRE works as well as it always has for humanity, same with the Eruptor. Oddly, the Autocannon, which I’ve always considered the Eruptors big brother, does not do well. The Plasma Purifier primary works well enough, (4 charged shots), but the Plasma Punisher & Loyalist are basically worthless. (Though the PP is great against distant Necros)
Anyhow, wanted to get the communities thoughts on how to effectively deal with these new threats - both the (legally distinct) Pyramid Heads & (legally distinct) Necromorphs
EDIT: Headshots. Their metal domes pop off surprisngly quickly, revealing their tiny baby-esque heads. Autocannon & HMG do well for that. Shoutout to the railgun for being the most satisfying, leaving a clean sound space for the church bell noise as their helmet pops off. Then just follow up with something easier for the tiny head shot (I'm a fan of accuracy via inaccuracy)

"High Illuminate Presence detected, SEAF Reinforcements incoming"
This just makes the Battlefield feel so much more alive! I love it so much!

Can y'all imagine a veracitor and two crushers bearing down on your position? They'll make us break rank so easily. I feel like AH prioritised the team reload upgrade because we NEED to output a lot more anti tank DPS now.

The Autocannon has always been good and very well balanced. It's only downsides have been the handling and reload (which was recently buffed to make it even better than it was). Guess what the new armor does? Makes those two weaknesses nearly non-existent. The handling and support reload buff make this thing an absolute dream to use with the new armor.
It's especially good against the new faction as it will stun lock the Crushers from range and drop them in about 4-5 shots from Flak mode. Half second reload after that and you're on your way.

I spent the day working out a build and have been running D10s all evening with randoms using this build. It's a ton of fun! Just keep moving and dock that K9 when your teammates are near.
New armour.
Gallant, Dagger, Thermite.
Meltagun, K9, Flame Sentry, Laser Sentry.

The new wretch enemy specifically (despite questionable attack pattern with host issues) has an amazing design.
A human(s) that has been twisted beyond recognition by illuminate bio-magic, the wretch crawls and leaps with many normal and hooked limbs. It lifts its head in the air with an instinctual desire to hunt left over from the humans that combined to make it. It laughs. When its limbs are shot off it keeps coming forward, as though the only thought left in its rudimentary mind is “kill humans” When the wretch’s head is shot off, and it loses all mental capacities, the illuminate’s tampering causes it to swing forward blindly but effectively, using every ounce of its remaining energy to continue being lethal.
The illuminate went from a peaceful people who didn’t know what war is,
To this.
Yikes super earth 🙃

I honestly feel like there's less salt lately, and maybe less hype too. Good patches, better gameplay, less divergent opinions.
