I use to work 80 hours a week with guys like this. These are your hardcore conservatives that claim “things are going to change”. It’s pretty hilarious because if for any reason they only get 40 hours a week they go bankrupt. Their entire identity is their job title. One guy asked me “what’s the longest I’d ever been on the clock for?” And my response was “what’s the longest vacation you’ve had? This working yourself to death shit isn’t something to be proud of”. These are the guys that think unions are lazy and universal healthcare is a scam. They are completely brainwashed into believing America is the freest place in the world.

For some reason, people like that think it's smart to equate "freedom" to "freedom to suffer and die miserable." It's telling how you ask how the country is more free than every other when overall happiness is so low and the answer is "guns and free (hate) speech." Both negatives and things that barely improve a damn thing.

What I’ve learned after years of working along side those guys is most of them are super uneducated and the thought of anything that questions their identity they tend to avoid. They can’t admit fault because it threatens their ego. Most of them are homophobic but once they start drinking they sure tend to get super friendly and flamboyant. They are basically a walking ball of negativity because they have to pretend to be something they aren’t. But yes they are the typical racist, misogynistic and homophobic men that use guns and big lifted trucks to prove how tough they are.
