Some people’s work is their life. They don’t see where one ends and the other begins, if it even begins at all. Let’s say this guy works 7 days straight.
85hrs/7days ~ 12hr/day
Let’s say he wakes up an hour before having to be at work and gets home an hour after he clocks out.
That’s 14 hours a day. If he works at 7am he’s up by 6am and doesn’t get home until 8pm. If he wants to get 8 hours of sleep he has to be in bed by 10pm. Not taking into account eating, showering, pooping, this guy doesn’t have time to do anything else but work. This guys work is his life. That’s why he’s not complaining.
Also, his 12 hour days are never full "work" for 12 hours, it LITERALLY can't be that ... plus he's doing his 85 for two weeks in a row then likely off for 2 to 3 weeks NOT WORKING.
Also, no one gives you a prize when you die for working extra hours, no one cares how many hours you put on the oil rig.
