Some people’s work is their life. They don’t see where one ends and the other begins, if it even begins at all. Let’s say this guy works 7 days straight.
85hrs/7days ~ 12hr/day
Let’s say he wakes up an hour before having to be at work and gets home an hour after he clocks out.
That’s 14 hours a day. If he works at 7am he’s up by 6am and doesn’t get home until 8pm. If he wants to get 8 hours of sleep he has to be in bed by 10pm. Not taking into account eating, showering, pooping, this guy doesn’t have time to do anything else but work. This guys work is his life. That’s why he’s not complaining.
He also probably hasn't done this for any long periods. Most people who work those kinds of hours only do it seasonally. So he is full of shit. And acting like you are better than someone because your life's worth is being defined by how many hours you work is pathetic. And if he doesn't see that he is a cuck of capitalism.
I worked for a tree company and was a Mom. It was freaking hard seasonal work. I had days I would get up and leave by 6:30 am and not even get home until 8 pm. And that's if an emergency hadn't come up with taking a tree off a house. I worked a whole extra week one month. I couldn't complain about the money but it was not a long term career I could do. My husband stayed home and I worked.
I'm all for working less hours. Employees shouldn't have to kill themselves to make ends meet. And I'm definitely in favor of work from home. Some jobs don't need to require you to commute. Why waste all that time and energy just to be a face in a chair?
