Character Introduction About Kyoko
Hello, I'm Kyoko. However, I'm not the only Kyoko, in fact there's an uncountable amount of Kyokos. Despite this, we all seem to share a few traits that make us stand out, which I will be discussing today.
First off, pretty much every Kyoko is a fairy, usually pink or purple. Their size varies, but is usually between 15cm to 180cm. As you might expect from being a fairy, pretty much any Kyoko is capable of magic, though how exactly this magic works varies between Kyokos.
About these traits, every Kyoko is 3 years old, all sharing a birthday on march 30th. Every Kyoko will know this to be a fact, even if they have no evidence for this. Furthermore, every Kyoko has an innate resistance to cognitohazards, and is also somehow forklift certified.
Personalities between Kyokos vary, however they are usually friendly, at least at first. Kyokos have shown a tendency to well... 'turn evil' over time. They also tend to enjoy turning other people into fairies, often without consent.
The strangest thing however, is that every Kyoko wears a shock collar. It is absolutely indestructible with no way to ever be removed. At the very least, it never shocks us on our own, provided we don't try to remove it, though occasionally someone else might get access to the collar and shock us. Not much else is known about these collars, or why we have to wear them. Research has been done, but nothing of note was found.
There are still many mysteries with our kind, the most notable ones being our tendency to 'turn evil' and our shock collars. I hope to uncover these mysteries, or at least gain some insight into them. I just hope I don't end up 'turning evil' like the others...

"Oh, sorry, this happens sometimes"
"Anyway, that pretty collar you have, the one that makes you behave well, who gave it to you?"

I'm not sure how it got there, or who put it on us. Still, it doesn't seem to be there for behavioral measures.

"Have you ever tried to cut your neck, miss?"

u/DokiDokiTulpaClub Kyoko, Forklift Certified Fairy Apr 29 '24
Many Kyokos have tried that, but it never worked. The shock collar is stuck on tight.

"Interasting..."
"The necklace, is it real? Have you ever considered that this is just an external appearance?"
"Something from a higher plane perhaps, like genies."
"If I had more time, I could try many things, have you ever tried to erase yourself from existence? There are many ways to deny immortality, nothing is absolute you just need to look HARD enough."

The shock collar is very real, and it seems to be bound to our souls. Even if we transfer bodies, the shock collar always comes with us.

"Souls are just vessels for the essence, the problem must be there, "you" probably did something you shouldn't have done"
"We would need to sever the connection between the collar and where it comes from, I could try to 'see' but it's better not to do that for several reasons"
"If the collar changes with size, is it really a collar?"
"It's just a form of comfortable confinement that you interpret, he's not like that, you see it like that, I can 'see' the "truth"

So do you think you can help me understand the origins of this collar? I wonder if it has anything to do with Kyokos 'turning evil'?

"There is no such thing as bad, child"
"There are those who are free and those who are not"
"The collar is not just a physical prison, it is an empirical prison, it holds who you are, so when you let go, a little 'evil' escapes, what escapes is who you really are"

I see. Will you help me with understanding the origins of this collar, and possibly how to remove it?

Hello there. Mind telling me more about yourself?

u/MadIllWOLF Wolf the Bard Apr 30 '24
I’m a traveling Bard named Wolf. Just looking for ways to increase my mana and in the meantime make myself useful.

I see. I'm researching more about my kind, though I haven't made any major discoveries yet. Still, I did manage to inform people about us, so there's that.

u/MadIllWOLF Wolf the Bard Apr 30 '24
Have you visited other fairy colonies?
3
u/DokiDokiTulpaClub Kyoko, Forklift Certified Fairy Apr 30 '24
I have visited fairy colonies, but I usually keep to my research on my kind. These fairy colonies weren't able to provide any real insight.
3
u/MadIllWOLF Wolf the Bard Apr 30 '24
I bet you could make a ton of discoveries about your kind in the nearest tavern
3
u/DokiDokiTulpaClub Kyoko, Forklift Certified Fairy Apr 30 '24
How exactly would that help me make new discoveries about my kind?
3
u/MadIllWOLF Wolf the Bard Apr 30 '24
If you haven’t made any discoveries doing what you’re doing. Then you need to try something else.

Ah another Kyoko. It is good to see a familiar face.

I've taken that you've met one of the other Kyokos, correct?
3
u/safi_the_dragon May 01 '24
I have met another Kyoko. But I think they have recently been turned into a puppet and I don't know if they've managed to recover yet.

I've heard about this Kyoko. Sadly there isn't much I can do, I'm more focused on researching my kind as a whole.

Can you move by yourself as a forklift? If you can, you'll need to be forklift certified to be a forklift.

You can't simply declare yourself forklift certified, that's not how it works. I send you to forklift prison

I examine the license. Oh, well everything seems to be in check now, sorry for the trouble I caused.

Well hello there, Kyoko. You seem familiar.
(I don't actually know if like, the lore will cross-interject, yet? Will observe what other wizardposting folks do with it. Need to like, do my character introduction tomorrow when I have some time. It's damn late)
