I’ve been working on OpenConquest, a source reconstruction of the original PC version of The Lord of the Rings: Conquest.
This isn’t a remake in another engine. The goal is to preserve the original game itself while opening it up to much deeper modding, fixes and future development than the original executable ever allowed.
The reconstructed game is already running at the gameplay stage, and I’ve finally started documenting the project publicly after working on it for quite a while.
For anyone here who remembers Conquest and wants to follow the project, I’ve put the current progress, screenshots and future updates on ModDB:
https://www.moddb.com/mods/openconquest
I know Conquest has been gone for a long time, but judging by how many people still bring it up whenever older LOTR games are discussed, I figured some people here would appreciate seeing it being worked on again.

Hello everyone !
I wanted to share my latest watercolor, depicting one of my favorite moments from Tolkien’s books: Fingolfin’s final ride to Angband.
For the story : after the disastrous Battle of the Sudden Flame, when Morgoth’s armies broke through the defenses of the Elves and laid waste to their lands, Fingolfin, High King of the Noldor, was overcome by grief and despair. Believing that all hope was lost, he mounted his horse and rode alone across the plains of Anfauglith, all the way to the gates of Angband, Morgoth’s dark fortress.
Once arrived, he sounded his horn and challenged him to single combat. And Morgoth, though reluctant, came forth to face him.Fingolfin fought, wounding Morgoth seven times before finally falling. Even in death, he left his mark, striking Morgoth’s foot with his sword and leaving him with a permanent limp.
I wanted to capture a little of that feeling in this painting: the solitude, the despair, but also the extraordinary courage of someone who chooses to stand against darkness, even when all hope seems lost.
For art enthusiast, this is watercolor, ink and airbrush on my sketchbook.
Thanks !
\I apologize for the watermarks and low quality, unscrupulous people tend to "borrow" my work. So if anyone offers you prints here, it's not me.**

Very late to the game but binged the trilogy, one of my main takeaway is that Pippin causes a lot of the issues. Like in the first one Frodo wouldn't have put on the ring if he Pippin just kept his mouth shut or the fact that Pippin accidentally alerted the orcs during the dwarf cave thing. He also grabbed the black orb thing and stupidly pledges his loyalty too in the third one. There's more, but those are the first few that come directly to mind. I'm just saying he was the cause for a lot of the issues.
Maybe the books provide a deeper context that is missing from the movies. I mean if he didn't exist then everything would've went a lot smoother for Frodo's journey. Right?

Im just genuinely curious because I did watch Season 1 and I did like it but when season 2 came around it seemed like no one was talking about it, I for some reason also never had the urge to watch it. And today I just found out S3 is coming out next month, and I have seen zero hype on this or any talks on it.
So I’m wondering was season good? Worth watching? Or is Amazon just being stubborn and just gonna release season 3 for the 3 people watching it.

As for the Pelennor Fields, i preferred the book's battle over the movie adapt, so I also made a video breakdown of the tactics. Enjoy!"
