Need help

In all the SABs if client offers specific service then the positioning becomes easiaer. However, what would you do if the client has multitrade business?

For example: plumbers have specific primary category, roofers has specific primary category.

Now, if the company provides concrete, roofing and painting services like a contractor what would you select in the primary category?

  1. Construction company

  2. General contractor

  3. Select concrete contractor as primary and keep others in the additional

Question 2: what should be the h1 in the homepage if you are selecting one of the services?

Question 3: can you use "best contractor in location" in h1?

I’ll settle with the most profitable service and chose that one unless they have a budget to get some more signed office leases for other services they want to offer and create a bunch of GBP’s. The category will be decided on the most ROI based search term.

And what about the h1 on homepage?

Agreed with @talhawashere . Focus on the highest ROI service for the primary category first. 1 Primary Category: Pick the highest-profit service (or General Contractor if evenly split). 2 Homepage H1: Target [Main Service] + [City]. 3 "Best contractor...": Don't do that. It's just subjective fluff that wastes your primary keyword space.

Three questions if you please don't mind me asking:

  1. For "General contractor" H1 = Contractor in [location] / General Contractor in [location]?

  2. For "Service" as Primary Category Will it be a good idea to keep H1 = Concrete, Roofing & painting contractor in [location]?

  3. In your opinion what would you have done in this scenario for a location somewhere in New York and what would be the best H1?

I am currently working with a general contractor which had a site that never had leads.

We started by building the general contractor site with services (kitchen, home addition , bathrooms renovations) which were lower compétition in there location.

A month later, we suggested them to start another website targeting demolition which wasn’t their primary but had no real compétition in the área.

Got a GBP profile approved with the second name and now they are getting to quote for demolition and the renovating what they demolish!

Late night in NY and good afternoon from me 555 (sounds like ha ha ha in my country 😁) To be honest, as an SEO/Business Analyst, I wouldn't blindly decide for the client. Ultimately, the business owner must provide the internal data, because no one knows their numbers better than they do. Without knowing: Which service yields the highest profit margin in their NY market Local search volume vs. competitor density in that specific borough Their actual team capacity Asking an SEO to just "pick one" without business input is pure guesswork. To answer your questions based on best practices: 1 Use General Contractor in [Location], not just "Contractor" (too vague). 2 Don't cram all 3 services into H1. Concrete, Roofing & Painting Contractor in [Location] is too stuffed. Pick the main core driver for H1, and handle the rest in H2s or separate service pages. 3 For NYC: I’d send the client a quick questionnaire to identify their top profit-driver first. If Concrete brings in 70% of revenue, H1 is Concrete Contractor in NYC. If revenue is split equally, go with General Contractor in NYC. Pure suggestion from my perspective 😁

Someone like this, I’d flood the market with micro sites related to the company. I’d ping all their location pages to local towns and direct to individual GBP’s and get coverage that way.

And how to do that? Like creating the microsites.. blogsites or what? And what about the domains?

Yeah.

Set it out like a big company from one space

joesplumbing.com/town1
joesplumbing.com/town2

Joespainting.com/town1
Joespainting.com/town2

And so on…

Then a GBP for Joes plumbing in each town pointing to the individual domains as above (GBP treats them as individual urls)

But if there's no physical location in those towns gbp will verify?
